"For those who have no obsession with Sassi Stone House, please do not hesitate to choose this hotel. It brought me the biggest surprise during the whole trip to Italy.
Although not traditional stone buildings, the gorgeous classical decoration of the ceiling of the room is enough to be breathtaking. The hotel is worthy of the name, it is a real luxury boutique. It can be seen that the hotel management is very particular about the details of life. The breakfast tableware is selected. The sofa in the public area is Egoitaliano original, not any custom imitation. As a furniture lover, I am simply ecstatic.
Although the breakfast countertop is not big, everything provided is boutique, especially ham. What is more moving is the intimate service of the front desk lady: the day coincided with the Festa della Madonna della Bruna festival, she specially arranged a room for us to directly watch the carriage cruise. You can see the celebration fireworks on the public area terrace.
The hotel is close to the parking lot, only two minutes walk, and it is effortless to drag the suitcase. The only regret is that I didn't live for two more days. highly recommended!"

Ssummer09The room was absolutely fantastic – very spacious and spotlessly clean. The AC was powerful and kept us comfortable. Hotel service was top-notch, breakfast was delicious, and the dinner chef was superb. The spa facilities were also excellent; just remember to bring your swimwear! Honestly, everything about our stay was perfect.
GGuest UserReally great one night stay. The hotel is very conveniently located for the autostrada. It was easy to check in and the reception staff were pleasant. We were advised parking was at the rear of the hotel where there was plenty of space. Our room was clean and modern, with a lovely comfortable bed.
We had dinner in the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the choice available, as we don't eat meat, there were vegetarian options and of course fish, and the quality was excellent. It was also reasonable in cost.
We had breakfast the next day where there was ample choice of scrambled egg (and bacon), cheeses, bread and pastries, cakes etc. Would thoroughly recommend.
GGuest UserThe view from this hotel is absolutely stunning; you can see the entire Sassi district at a single glance. It’s also very easy to access by taxi, which is a huge plus in Matera. The room was spotless, including the bathroom and sink, and the staff welcomed us with such warmth.
The breakfast was delicious, but the view from the breakfast area was the real highlight. Having breakfast here felt like a sightseeing experience in itself. If you're coming to Matera, I highly recommend staying at this hotel!
RRowena Yin TingA nice boutique hotel with friendly staff at a good location with restaurants nearby. We booked two rooms - the room on 2nd floor is good but the one on ground floor smells a bit of mould. Perhaps because it’s inside a cave. Breakfast choice is limited with fruits, toast with tomatoes, and cakes. You can order boiled or scrambled eggs as this is the only hot food they serve. We are fine with that but more as fyi.
GGuest UserThis was our second time staying at this hotel. We specifically came to Mateta for one night from the Salerno area to enjoy the spa and dinner. As always it did not disappoint! The junior suite room was spectacular. The spa was amazing. The a massages were amazing. The restaurant they recommended for dinner was delicious. The staff is great. Left looking forward to our next trip back! See you soon Gattini!
CCJFroVery enjoyable stay. Lovely staff. Nice coffee and breakfast though quite simple. Would have liked some fresh orange juice in the morning rather than the cheap from concentrate stuff. Very happy on the whole though.
On the whole good value for money for the sleeping in a cave house type place in Matera.
Extra marks for the hotels dog Peggy who is adorable :D
MMiriamKThe place was perfect: central, close to nice restaurants and bars, well decorated, nice staff, great SPA (worth the 25 EUR fee to access it!) and what a great breakfast buffet! Do choose the suites, they really are worth the extra price. They were all booked for our second night and so we had to move to a standard room and it wasn’t as great.
MmlenitskayaThis is probably the best hotel in Matera based on what we read before traveling. The service is exceptional , very helpful and friendly staff. The room is spacious, very clean and cozy. We had a small balcony with a very nice room. The restaurant that was recommended to us was also amazing. Highly recommend!
SshtmpearlGood service for picking up guests from car park.
Breakfast was included, pretty ok selection.
Room is large but toliet wall was very bad maintain and dirty. Selfs and table.has ants. The overall was fine but need some improvement on the bathroom wall. Same cost of bookings, some rooms are big, some are small.
