The hotel is well located and the room was clean. However, I felt uncomfortable during check-in because I did not receive a welcome/check-in bag while other guests did. There was no explanation given, which made the experience feel unfair.
I hope the hotel can improve transparency about guest amenities.
The balcony view was truly amazing, but the hotel itself is quite old. The room we were given had no charging outlets by the bed, so we had to move the desk to charge our devices under the vanity and behind the TV. The air conditioning vent made a strange 'ticking' noise; it wasn't too bad during the day, but at night, when everything else was quiet, it became really noticeable.
On the plus side, the lady at the front desk spoke excellent English. However, the shuttle service to and from Sannomiya wasn't very convenient, and the breakfast was just mediocre.
I definitely won't be staying here again on my next visit to Kobe.
The “sea view” was very disappointing and honestly not what I expected at all when booking this room.
What made the experience worse was the pricing issue. After my booking became non-refundable, the hotel price dropped by around 30%, which was shocking. I’ve never had this happen before. The explanation that the lower price was a different non-refundable rate doesn’t fully justify such a big drop. On top of that, trip.com customer service only gave me an update after I followed up four times, which was frustrating.
Check-in was also a poor experience. We arrived around 9pm with a child, and there was no staff at the ground floor to help with luggage at all, even though the reception is on the 17th floor. After check-in, there was again no assistance with luggage, which was very inconvenient when travelling with a child. Despite my booking clearly stating one adult and one child, there were no kids’ amenities provided, not even a child’s toothbrush.
The hotel is a bit far from Sannomiya Station; you need to take a few train stops to get there, but it's very close to the nearest station. The room was spacious and the hygiene conditions were decent. The service was excellent. The hotel is divided into the Main Building and the South Building. I stayed in the Main Building this time, and I felt the facilities were a bit old. There's a FamilyMart convenience store and a few other shops on the first floor, which is convenient if you need to buy anything. The bathtub isn't fully enclosed, so water splashes out when you shower.
Our twin room was impressively spacious, offering significantly more comfort and room than similarly priced hotels in Kyoto and Osaka. We appreciated the convenience of not needing a key card for elevator access or to activate the room's electricity. We had turned off the AC before leaving, but after cleaning, the staff kindly turned it back on, ensuring we returned to a delightfully cool room. The bathroom featured excellent wet/dry separation, and the bright lighting was perfect for the vanity mirror. The only minor drawback was the somewhat slow WiFi, but it was still acceptable. This 3-star hotel truly provides fantastic value for money! Additionally, the front desk staff spoke very fluent English.
I had a wonderful **3-night stay** at Seaside Hotel Maiko Villa Kobe. The location is beautiful, with relaxing seaside views and a stunning look at the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional, and the breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. Overall, it was a peaceful and enjoyable stay, and I would gladly return and recommend this hotel to others.
The hotel is old yet classic. Everything is in general well maintained, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
The hotel may not be so accessible compared with those in Sannomiya, but the hotel offers shuttle bus to Sannomiya daily and Shin-Kobe on weekends. It helps you get around and go to the train stations. However, do note that the bus may be full sometimes. But even so or if you miss the bus, it won’t be long to walk to Kobe (Rapid and Special Rapid) or Motomachi (Rapid), depending on the train you need to take. I really like the view. Even the room not facing the sea has a nice view both during the day and night. The Meriken park is also just downstairs.
The hotel has a free self-service laundry and a Family Mart, but there are limited items to buy after 8 PM since no staff will be there. Another limitaiton is that the gym and the food service both close after 10 PM, if I recall correctly.

The room type that includes brunch and dinner is very high-end. The hot springs are also good. You can take the hotel car to the main hotel to soak in it, but this place is great. There is also an oven service, which is also very good. You can also have your luggage delivered to the Osaka hotel. The cost is not high. I will stay here again if I have the chance, and I will meet Yating who can talk about noon. I will go to see you next time. I hope you are still there.
Booked a double room on the refurbished floor 30m (extra bed)
Right outside the south exit of Himeji Station, friendly service, luggage storage available
It's a completely new room, the bed is not too soft, and there are 2 different pillows.
Long and deep bathtub, large amount of water, DHC toiletries, strong hair dryer
Free bottled water, coffee machine, tea bags
Breakfast is also delicious
First off, this location is a bit out of the way, if you intend to stay close to the downtown...you have to take the ”Portliner” a few stops.
No issue for me, but did not realize this when I booked.
I chose it because of the onsen / sauna, and I was very satisfied: this was the best sauna / cold tub I had in Japan (so far).
Was hotter (and colder) than anything else. The actual hot-tub was good too, but I focus on sauna > cold tub cycles more than anything.
Rooms are new and look good, if not a bit small. As expected.
Stay for a night if you are on the fence...use the onsen...have a coffee-milk afterwards. You'll feel great.
Rooftoop bar / restaurant was nice as well and very friendly staff!

ZZhezidashuA very satisfying trip to Awaji Island was made even better by our hotel. Everything was arranged in the best way. We changed buses from Kyoto and confirmed the pick-up station through the Ctrip platform. When we arrived, it was still early, so we took the free shuttle bus to go shopping (with luggage back to the hotel). We used the coupons to buy lunch and ice cream at Hello Kitty. When checking in, the male waiters all kneel down to serve, and confirm the information of dinner and going out the next day. The room we stayed in is a single-family round house like a yurt with a viewing balcony and a wooden bath. The details of the room are all local characteristics (dressing box, free mini bar/dessert, washbasin are all petrified wood). The central roof is transparent and empty, and you can also observe the stars. We enjoyed the food here for 5 days, especially the dinner was not repeated and changed in various styles. What surprised me was that the waitress could perform saxophone and flute at dinner, and there was a restaurant like a stage on the island where you could also enjoy the waiter's musical performance. The 20,000 consumption vouchers given for 5 days are enough for you to go out for free at noon. We also bought Hello Kitty exclusive gifts for the children at the Big Apple with the vouchers. This trip to Awaji Island is more memorable than the trip to Kyoto, and the people are simple and honest. Everyone is working hard to promote tourism in Awaji Island, which is worthy of praise. I will bring my children here next time.

GGuest UserI'm fairly certain this hotel used to be the Daiwa Royal Hotel. I've stayed here many times before, even under its previous name, but this was my first visit since the rebranding. Considering the high price, the amenities provided were quite basic. On a positive note, the complimentary drinks and snacks were a nice touch.
The most significant disappointment was the 50-minute wait for breakfast. Had this not been an issue, my stay would have been far more satisfactory. During peak times, such as the busy summer holiday season, I strongly suggest they consider expanding the breakfast area or increasing its capacity. Despite the wait, the breakfast itself was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, this lengthy delay significantly impacted our sightseeing plans for the day.
MMairyOur stay in this hotel was great! I wish we stayed here longer than one evening.
Our traditional Japanese room was very spacious and had two separate toilet rooms attached as well as a bathroom. The view from our room was amazing! And sitting area before the huge windows even had a massage chair and a vanity. The shoji doors showed some signs of wear but everything were very clean.
Our kaiseki dinner was spectacular and incredibly tasty. But I wish there were some instructions for foreigners how to enjoy it properly. Our server didn't speak English and we didn't speak Japanese so there was a minor misunderstanding but everything was resolved 😅
I'm definitely a fan of such kind of a meal now!
We visited all the hot springs that are available in this hotel and it's sister hotel across the river. I liked the silver indoor spring in our hotel and gold outdoor spring in sister-hotel the most. Hot springs are closed after 24:00. And open from 6:00 to 9:00 nest morning. Unfortunately they are closed from 9:00 to 12:00(check out time) which make it impossible to enjoy them in the morning for those who prefer to sleep in((
Would definitely reccommend the stay for relaxing and luxurious experience.
GGuest UserAn excellent ryokan. We were greeted right at the entrance, given a key and an onsen pass. They made copies of our passports and immediately showed us to our room. They poured tea and offered us sweet cookies. We were given yukatas. The view was of the main street and the river. The onsen in the ryokan is small, but that's not a problem since you get a pass to all the onsen in the village.
The kaiseki dinner was delicious, with crab and sashimi.
While we were at dinner, they laid out futons for us.
A fantastic ryokan; we'll definitely try to come back again.
GGuest UserOur stay was absolutely fantastic. Every single staff member was incredibly friendly, and the room itself was very comfortable. The traditional Japanese-style room (washitsu) was a particularly charming touch. Both dinner and breakfast were exquisitely prepared, and the onsen (hot spring) was wonderfully relaxing. We stayed with my parents and children, and everyone in our group was thoroughly delighted.

GGuest UserAn old hot spring hotel, a little inside, but very quiet. There is also a 10% discount for snow crabs at the door, which can be packaged and delivered.
I have to praise the crab dinner of the hotel, which is of very high standard, even the desserts are online. I was very full, but because it was so delicious, I finally finished the rice and pasta. The wine and drinks are also very cost-effective. It is worth staying once during the snow crab season. There are several hot springs, which can be reserved and can be visited at leisure. There are also private and public hot springs. It is very comfortable to relax in a hot spring.
