Pros: good location with walking distance to key tourist sites in the old town, to the coach station (part of the way pedestrians have to share the road with motor vehicles); Attractive garden and roof top swimming pool; In house restaurant available; Cons: facilities may not be well maintained, some furnitures and hooks fixed to the wall are loose; Noise comes from the wooden ceiling mostly at night, maybe some birds living on the celling?

Proceed for about 50 meters to see an eaves arch bridge, under the bridge is the hotel reception. Please note that there are only 2 parking spaces (coordinates 39.393559, -7.376018) opposite the front desk, this parking space does not need to go up and down stairs for luggage and luggage. However, if the parking is full, you can only park at the other 8 parking spaces (coordinates 39.393512, -7.375692) near the R. do Embique road down the front slope. This parking space needs to go up and down stairs for luggage. Therefore, it is recommended to check in early. If the parking space you are using is not ideal, it does not matter. When checking out, you can put your luggage on the side of the front desk first, then drive the car over to load your luggage, and then leave. Although the road will be blocked during luggage loading, everyone is like this, it does not matter, other vehicles will wait patiently. The mountain city is basically a one-way street, it is best to ask the front desk to leave the route, so as not to go the wrong way. The 24-hour front desk staff are enthusiastic, professional and satisfied. The internal facilities of the room conform to the website introduction and are comfortable. There are waiters to clean the room, take out the garbage, change the towels and make the bed every day. Satisfaction. The hot water in the shower is good and worry-free. There are no slippers in the room, please bring your own. The view and service of the hotel restaurant are very good. The breakfast is rich and high quality. Dinner is exquisite. There are two lounges, very comfortable, don’t forget to enjoy them. If you live in the building opposite the restaurant, you can go back and forth through the arch bridge, which is of great significance in rainy days. I tried the Casa do Povo restaurant in the city. The local crock-pot lamb (with pictures, easy to order) is very delicious and highly recommended. It is recommended that Marvão exit the Porta Este De Marvão city gate and go down the hill to the ancient Roman road of Portagem via the Convento de Nossa Senhora da Estrela. The trail takes about 2 hours. Most of the trails are shaded. It goes down the road, and the birds and flowers are scented. The front desk provides free trail maps to Portagem under the mountain, recommends local restaurants and provides the phone number of the taxi driver on the return journey. If you can’t get in touch, the Portagem restaurant waiters also have their own familiar taxi drivers (the return journey is about 20 Euros, acceptable), don’t worry. I tried Hotel Sever Rio e Restaurante Sever by the Portagem River. Only the tomato soup is delicious and generous, so I can recommend it.

Stayed with family here in a second booked room in this hotel. Outdoor pool was so inviting as the temp reached 35 deg in early October. Staff were super efficient and the prices for a late check out were very reasonable. The hotel itself is located within the walks of the town with ample outdoor parking just outside. Highly recommend a stay here.

the hotel exceeded expectations, good food and excellent pools.

One of our ”best value” places in Alto Alentejo. Rooms are moden decor annd simple but spacious. Breakfast (included always!) is high quality and fresh and the indoor pool, Sauna and outdoor pool is big plus. Restaurants in town (Regata and Alpahoaense) are best in the area (and still cheap) Highly recommended even for a weekend trip

Urban hotel with all the comfort necessary for a stay in Portalegre; Excellent breakfast; Cleanliness and friendliness of staff; Parking spaces at the door, reserved for customers; Central and with several restaurants in the adjacent streets. Quality / price ratio: very good.

The hotel was excellent, the building being an old convent was architecturally interesting and suited its new purpose very well. The room with an impressive four poster bed was a good size and comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. My only slight criticism would be concerning the breakfast, which was somewhat limited and if arriving towards the end of the serving period there was little left to choose from  Overall I would recommend this hotel as a good place to stay
