This hotel offers fantastic value for money. The only minor downside is its distance from the train station, but everything else was excellent and definitely exceeded my expectations. It's only a little over a 20-minute walk to Yale.
I took the train from Manhattan to Waterbury. After getting off the train, I walked along Grand Avenue for about a few minutes to the hotel. I came alone to attend my child's graduation ceremony, and I didn't have high requirements in all aspects, so the Marriott hotel fully met my needs. Because of the language barrier, some issues were communicated through Ctrip customer service. I felt that Ctrip's butler service was timely and effective, and I was satisfied.
The facilities are a bit old, but the environment and service are good. When I checked out, he asked me enthusiastically and helped me get a cup of hot water. I asked him for hot water the night before.
The facility was lackluster at best. It used to be great. Eco friendly was claimed for not doing daily room service. Hypocritical. There were paper plates, plastic serve where, and poorly working HVAC units. The organization was simply looking to cut down on costs. Similarly, I’ve seen better breakfasts at hotels that cost half as much. Vents in the bathrooms were nonfunctional. The window could only be closed from the outside. I look forward to posting this on yelp unless you make amends.
The room was equipped with a cabinet-type air conditioner by the window. It could not be closed but kept on all the time. It was very noisy and affected sleep. It was reflected to the hotel. And told the helplessness that every room in the hotel is the same noisy. Even the basic quiet sleep is not guaranteed, this Holiday Inn is disappointing.
Overall, it’s okay, that is, there are fewer seats for breakfast on site, and there are fewer varieties of breakfast.
The deposit on the spot is a bit high, USD100, it's been almost a month, and it hasn't been refunded yet.
The room is okay, that is, the wardrobe is hidden behind the mirror, the bathroom is facing the mirror, the bed is facing the bathroom and the mirror, and the pattern is weird.
Bad review, there is no human hotel, 20 hours of air travel, spit and diarrhea on the plane, and finally insisted on staying at the hotel, but told me that I must wait until 3 pm to check in, but it will be only 7:30 in the morning, how do I It may have to wait for nearly 8 hours, and there is a child accompanying me. The jet lag and illness made me spend a lot of time. Seeing all the guests check out, I ran to the front desk to ask if there was a room. , Just don’t check in for me, my body is getting weaker and weaker, and I’m hardened to nearly 11 o’clock. I can’t hold on. With my insistence, I said that you can treat a patient like this, and I ask to see you right away. Your manager, the front desk gave the room, the whole process is no temperature, cold experience
It's a very good hotel. I found this place to stay for one night on the way from Boston to New York. I didn't expect that there are many interesting places in the small town of Mystic. There are also many museums.

JJOHNNY.JIThe exterior of the hotel is good, but the interior is rather old. Guests have free underground parking. Overall OK
GGuest UserThis hotel had a big open lobby with a bar and plenty of areas to use laptops or to gather in small groups.
Convenient parking in a garage was located below the hotel. The elevators were extremely efficient. We were on the 8th floor and never waited. The hotel staff is hard to reach by phone but when we arrived they happily let us check into our room a little early. The beds are very comfortable and very high! The tv remote is odd and we had to call to figure out how to use it. Early morning coffee urns were late to arrive. The hotel is very close to I-95 which was helpful.

GGuest UserThe hotel was in a great location but it was moldy and amenities were missing from the room, batteries dead in the thermostat, my first room smelled like cigarettes and the carpet was greasy. When I mentioned the state of my room they quickly moved me to another room so that was nice. The most frustrating part about this hotel was the fact that my family members and I asked weeks in advance if we could book rooms on the same floor in the same general area. The hotel agreed but once we arrived they put us on all different floors, opposite sides of the hotel and everything. We tried to make the best of it. My mother and I as well as my cousins met in my aunt's double room daily so we could all be together but a neighboring room made a noise complaint. They would never have had to complain if the hotel had booked all our rooms together as we had requested.

PPiermasensiqiangniIt costs $12-13 to take a taxi from the train station. It is within walking distance of Yale University. The check-in service is good. We were given the room at 12 noon. The facilities in the room are a bit old and the toilet is small.
GGuest UserI loved the scenery. It was a lovely location and the house-in-the-woods character was well developed from the outside. I didn't feel the interiors were up to par though. I was staying in sunnyside which was a gorgeous house with a very rustic feel but the interiors felt very stuffy and dated. The staff, though friendly, could have been a bit more welcoming especially since it takes a long journey to get to that hotel. I don't feel the ammenities of the location, such as for example the breakfast situation or where we have access to (e.g. for a swim) were explained and there was little of it in the room itself.
It is a stunning venue though. they have much more they can do with it!
AAnonymous UserFirst checking in, the gentleman was very friendly and kind. After getting settled in the room it was nice. However, you could hear everything going on in the hallway. Upon asking for more towels there were no bath towels left due to being short staffed. Additionally the cleaning staff were exceptionally loud in the morning and had woken me up.
GGuest UserWe were welcomed nicely with two amazing front desk representatives. Received clean and comfy room. It was day before Christmas, and we were told the timing for breakfast . Next morning we found out there no breakfast served at all! Because it’s Christmas!! It’s like you book the flight , but no flight attendants cuz they are on vocation 😀 All hotels guests were very confused, no one received any note about it, we were very disappointed because one of the reason we pay more for this hotel -is breakfast, since we were driving with kids. Don’t recommend this hotel .
GGuest UserExcellent hotel. Big room for families, clean and modern, excellent facilities. Great service. The free shuttle was brilliant, we used it to go and wander round the town and Yale campus.
