Jeju Island Hotel Recommendation | Shilla Hotel The Shilla Hotel, with its Southern French charm, is located in Seogwipo, Jeju Island. The hotel perfectly suited my taste and is also ideal for family vacations. I absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again. **Regarding Transportation** We hired a private car from the airport to the hotel, which took less than an hour. However, getting to the city center from here is not convenient. We chose this hotel specifically for a relaxing vacation, so apart from taking a taxi to Hello Kitty Island, we walked everywhere else. **Regarding the Room** We booked a mountain view room, and the scenery was lovely. Sitting on the balcony, we could enjoy a vast expanse of greenery, which was truly refreshing. There was one king-sized bed and one smaller bed, both very comfortable, and turndown service was provided. The blinds were a bit sheer, so if you're bothered by light, you can ask the hotel staff to install curtains. The bathroom and toilet were separate (wet and dry areas), and the space was very large, making our stay very comfortable. **Regarding Dining** The hotel's restaurants are all excellent. This time, we only experienced the breakfast buffet, but you can also choose the lunch buffet. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich and varied! Everything was exquisite and delicious. I highly recommend choosing a room package that includes breakfast when booking. For dinner, we found restaurants near the hotel, and overall, dining was very convenient. **Regarding Family-Friendly Amenities** The Kids' Island on the basement level is perfect for preschoolers, with various interesting board games that even adults would want to play. Kids' Club (Gymboree) requires reservations, and we didn't have time to experience it this time, but we look forward to it next time. The indoor and outdoor pools are connected, and there's live music in the evening, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Remember that the outdoor sun loungers need to be reserved, which is very convenient, and you get to use them for a long time after reservation. **Regarding Service** From check-in to check-out, the service was impeccable! There was a small hiccup with installing the curtains, but before we left, they specially gave us a cute teddy bear with blue plaid, which was a lovely gesture. The hotel's strong Southern French vibe makes for great photos! Walking to Jungmun Saekdal Beach involves many steps, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes. The hotel's attention to detail is excellent, with a waterfall and even a small zoo. Two nights felt barely enough.

Old hotel, needs renovating however we enjoyed our stay. Relatively close to the beach. We stayed here for 5 nights. Overall we enjoyed our stay but there are some issues we faced. Firstly they began to tell us they couldn’t accept my Korean issued ID and needed to take a 200,000 won damage deposit (this sign was written in English and showed to us at check in). Once they realised I was using my Korean ID card and bank card they suddenly didn’t need to do this which we found this confusing and wondered if the policy is only applied to some guests. We were also given an information sheet that said we had to “use the room cleanly or we will be charged” meaning we were always conscious leaving in the morning due to thinking we will be charged so we couldn’t fully relax. The room is big but old. The floor wasn’t hoovered for 2 days so sand was still on the floor. The room overall wasn’t well cleaned…we found spiders on the head board and we couldn’t walk on the terrace due to the board lifting. On our final evening, we found sand from night one still on the shower floor. Every night there was so much noise from the room above making it hard to sleep. However there are some positives. The staff are friendly and answered our questions in a polite manner, it’s a great location close to the beach and the room is a good size. Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite there being some things that need to be improved. For the price we paid, it was an okay stay, however we won’t be staying here again and if we paid more than we did we would be disappointed.

The hotel facilities are a bit old, but the hygiene is well-maintained, which is still good. It's close to the sea, and the restaurant is very comfortable and airy. The commercial street is just two roads behind the hotel, offering plenty of dining options. Overall, it offers good value for money. However, right next to the hotel there's a place that seems like an performance venue. Oh my goodness, during my stay, they were singing and performing from the afternoon until night. The loud speakers were so noisy! And even when there wasn't a performance, people would sing by the sea nearby, which really affected my rest. The hotel breakfast was ordinary, but it had everything necessary. What I was quite unhappy about was that I paid for two adult breakfasts, but only one adult and one child actually used them. Because my child developed a fever upon arrival and had no appetite, I asked if I could pack some food for her to eat back in the room. The restaurant refused. I don't know if it's a cultural difference or what, but in our country, such a request has never been refused. It felt very unaccommodating.

The room was spacious and bright, with excellent facilities. Both the pool and gym were quite good. Breakfast was plentiful, mainly Western-style, and truly top-tier for a 'Western-style meal'. The croissant was the best I've had in any Asian hotel. The hotel is right by the sea, and an evening stroll along the coast was delightful.

Our entire Jeju trip was spent at Lotte Hotel, and the overall experience was incredibly satisfying. I truly picked the right accommodation! Many people debate whether to stay in the northern area near the airport or the southern area, and having experienced both, I have a strong opinion. Although the south is a bit further from the airport and prices are slightly higher, the vacation atmosphere, scenery, and activities completely surpass the north! The northern area is generally quiet with not much to see or do, and it hardly feels like a vacation spot. However, the southern area boasts stunning scenery, a high concentration of attractions, and a vibrant mix of dining and entertainment, making sightseeing incredibly efficient! Staying in the south this time, I managed to visit almost all of Jeju's essential attractions nearby: Jusangjeolli Cliff, Cheonjiyeon Falls, Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, the famous submarine tour, Forest Train, Seopjikoji, and Olle Market were all conveniently visited along the way. The route was incredibly smooth, and I had a fantastic time exploring. The food experience was also exceptional! The hotel's location is super convenient, with a BHC fried chicken right next door, so you can grab some whenever you crave it. Nearby, there's also an authentic black pork restaurant with charcoal-grilled black pork that's incredibly tender and flavorful. I also tried Jeju's special grilled hairtail and braised hairtail; the seafood was fresh and authentic, a must-try specialty when visiting Jeju. Getting around was particularly hassle-free! The hotel offers a free airport shuttle, making transfers super convenient. Additionally, I highly recommend using Uber in Jeju. Just link your credit card before you arrive, and you can instantly call a taxi with a single tap, no need for loose change or communication with the driver. If you encounter a Korean address you can't read, simply use a translation app to input it; it's precise and convenient, perfect for tourists. The hotel environment is peaceful and relaxing, with a small path in the backyard leading directly to a seaside boardwalk, perfect for leisurely strolls and enjoying the sea breeze. The outdoor pool is open until 11 PM, creating a wonderful night-time resort ambiance. Breakfast is also very rich, with separate hot and cold sections, offering abalone porridge, miso soup, kimchi, various salads, and hot dishes – ensuring a nutritious and satisfying start to each day. Overall, the southern area is the top choice for a Jeju vacation! It's comfortable, offers authentic food, and boasts breathtaking scenery. My stay this time was a perfect 10, highly recommended!

Staying at ShinShin Hotel Jeju Ocean and honestly… location is 💯 Just minutes away from iconic spots like Eodolgae Rock, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, scenic trails, and the lively Jeju Olle Market—everything is so accessible. The food? Surprisingly good. The room? Huge, spotless linens, and a wow factor with a massive smart TV—perfect for Netflix & YouTube nights after long walks. Comfortable, clean, convenient… definitely a great base for exploring Jeju 🖤🌊

The room was clean and tidy, and there's a balcony for drying clothes. There's a small path leading to Jungmun Beach. Jusangjeolli Cliff and the Botanical Garden are nearby. The Bonte Museum and the Automobile & Piano Museum are also a convenient taxi ride away. There's a commercial street nearby with dining options. The pool and breakfast are at the suite hotel on the other side. Buses 600/601 go directly to the airport. Overall, it was very good.

This was the best hotel experience this trip, giving off a wonderfully relaxed, vacation vibe. The lobby is spacious and comfortable, with seating areas everywhere. There's a restaurant and a bar in the atrium section of the lobby, and you can even order fried chicken at the bar after 11 PM. The lobby also has a bakery and coffee shop, and on the basement level, there's a CU convenience store, a game room with table tennis and billiards. The outdoor pool was fantastic, and the kids had an absolute blast. Although the hotel's location is a bit out of the way, if you exit through the back door, there are plenty of restaurants within a 10-minute walk, including a seafood restaurant popular with locals that serves delicious spicy stir-fried crab and grilled mackerel. There's also a bathhouse not far from the restaurants, which the kids especially loved. It's also quite close to the East Coast by taxi. I'll definitely choose this hotel again when I stay in Seogwipo next time.

We had such a warm and memorable stay as a mum travelling with my adult daughter, all thanks to our wonderful host, Mr Doldam and his lovely wife, Sue. Communication was so easy as they speak English well, and they thoughtfully shared helpful tips on places to visit around Jeju, which made our trip even more enjoyable. We accidentally stayed out past 9pm and missed our bus, and our host kindly came to pick us up from the village stop about 10 minutes away—something we truly appreciated. They also helped send us off to the bus stop for our airport transfer, making everything feel smooth and well taken care of. Breakfast was a real treat too—simple and wholesome, especially the homemade bread and tangerine jam 🍊 It truly felt like being welcomed into a home, not just a place to stay. Thank you!

Stayed for 2 nights, it was great. The hotel is surrounded by luxury hotels and not far from a beautiful beach. The room had a balcony with a direct view of Hallasan and a side view of the ocean. Breakfast was good, and there's a heated pool. My only complaint is that early check-in, even if it's just 1.5 hours early, costs 30,000 won, which is a bit excessive.
