The a&o Hotel Brussels offers affordable and centrally located accommodation, ideal for budget travelers and groups. The location is convenient, within walking distance of the city center and public transport. Rooms are basic but functional, with adequate amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful, although service.
Overall, a good choice for travelers who prioritize price and location over luxury.
Here’s a concise and polished comment you could use:
We had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Hotel Midi Zuid Brussels. The location was ideal—close to transport and easy to navigate, which made our itinerary smooth and stress-free. The room and bathroom were clean, which made settling in feel effortle. While basic, the setup felt welcoming and respectful of our needs, including quiet surroundings and easy access to halal options nearby. A simple yet thoughtful base for exploring Brussels with ease.
The hotel itself is pretty nice. The rooms are spacious and clean and the breakfast was nice too. Brussels as a city is not something I enjoyed- there were lots of homeless people around the hotel at night time. At a point while coming from station to the hotel at night, I felt like I might get mugged. Nothing against the hotel though - the hotel is great.
it was a nice hotel. However, the corridor area and elevator had so much visible trash. Also, it was not possible to lock the door from inside.
Besides that, it was all good. The receptionists were super friendly!

The hotel was good. The location is good. One thing you need to be careful about is that this hotel comes in an uphill location, so you need to be ready to walk. There is only one thing that made my stay awful. it was some stains on the bed. I arrived at 2 AM. I was tired and I decided to sleep but in the morning I woke up. And I found out that the bed was having weird spots, It looks like human ****.

Location is great, on walking distance from Louise metro station. The price quality ratio is good. Room for improvement: the toilets downstairs in the lobby area are very smelly, the toilet paper in the rooms are harsh like carton, there are no TV’s in your room (while Citybox Antwerp does have), the windows cannot fully open in your room and there are no cleaning services if you stay multiple days. It would be helpful to have some self-service kits available (cleaning spray etc) to clean your room yourself (especially the floor is dirty). The concept of the food machines in the lobby is a good idea but the machines was mostly empty and the choices are all very basic processed food choices (not suitable for a proteine rich, glutenfree diet).
Jill Hotel Brussels has an excellent location, just a short walk from Midi Station — the terminal for Eurostar trains to Paris. Although the room was a bit small, it was reasonable given its central location. The hotel is modern, stylish, and offers great convenience for travelers.

The staff provided good service, especially at the restaurant in the morning. However, the carpet in the room was quite dirty and seemed like it hadn’t been changed for a long time. The mattress was okay and comfortable enough, and the bathroom was fine. The only downside was the dirty carpet, which made the whole room look unclean. The breakfast was decent — not very diverse, but it included the main items that should be there.
Love the room and kitchen and private parking , but they inflexible about 11 am check out.
Late 1 hour cost u €25 it’s crazy . Other hotel just charge €10 per hour or can free check out still at 12noon .
The middle age man very nice and friendly at customer service but just very stricth in late check out. They cleaning woman will knock ur room by 11 am.

GGuest UserHotel was in a great location and just outside the grand place and center square, walking distance of about 8-10mins. I walked everywhere from this location and was convenient with subway tram nearby and easy access to and from the central station. The hotel foyer and entrance was large and welcoming, service staff were helpful, there was also a gym on premise. The hotel room was a little dated and old although fairly large. The bathroom was fairly old and could need an upgrade soon although was functional and clean. The door and walls were thin and I could hear the doors slamming all the time (from guests coming in and out of their rooms) at all hours and in the morning, I got woken up by the cleaning lady vacuuming and always hitting the sides of the wall which was a little irritating. On one of the late evenings, I could hear the couple in the next room ****** *** as she was ******* ******. So yes, the walls/ceiling are thin.

SSarah1404Stunning hotel and excellent service. Beautiful pool (pre book your swim). Room service had a few issues but good overall. Excellent location right on the Rogier stop. Very equipped room. I'll be back.

AAnonymous UserI had a wonderful stay at The Standard Brussels. The service was excellent, especially one of the male front desk staff who was extremely friendly and attentive. As it was my first time visiting Brussels, he kindly asked his colleague Rayan to prepare a list of local restaurant recommendations based on my preferences. Their thoughtful help made my trip much easier and more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for its warm hospitality and professional service👍
GGuest UserPlus:
The room is really big. So is the bed. It is so big that makes me think as if it is king size bed to house politicians or prime minister from the 80s, 90s.
There is heating both in the room and in the shower
There is air con set in the room( but I didn't try to see if it works)
This hotel is located less than 10 mins walk from Brussels north station
Minus
The room look really old. May be 90s, if not 80s.
There is no carpet on the floor. It is really clean but it is really cold to step on. Bring your own slippers.
The room is dim. And some lights were spoilt.
Even if was told it is a non smoking room, the room has lingering smoking smell. Someone smoked in this room before. I told the front desk, he said he will check but when I return from the city , the smell is there still.
The bathroom has some odd smell. May b smell of roaches, or roaches in the pipes.
The shower curtain smell of mould and damp cloth/ damp laundry.
The heating stop around 2am. May b there is max amount of heating one room could use. Make sure you time your heating usage carefully.
The wall is really thin. You can hear when someone is around the lift, going towards their room or what next door is up to.
I can hear everything happening outside, on the street, from police car n siren rushing up and down, to people wondering on the street, their conversation. I don't feel safe here. I can't relax and sleep.
I don't like the paper cup given together with coffee and the place to brush teeth. May be the hotel suffer too often from being stolen . But that make the hotel rating dropping from 1star hotel to guest house.
The toilet spoilt in the middle of the night and you can hear water flowing all night. Need to maneuver with the old school toilet pull button .
I appreciate the effort they maintain it but personally I don't like it. unless you have really early bus or train to catch, and is on a shoe string budget then it is your choice.

KKate ThomCheck-in is 3pm and we arrived at 3pm but the room was only ready at almost 4pm. The story was that it was cleaned already but ”awaiting inspection”. We were handed 2 bar coupons with a blithe apology in rapid fire French for our 50 min wait.
The vacuuming in the room left much to be desired. When we got into the room on the 1st day, there was a pistachio at the side of the bed. My sister's dust allergy was triggered throughout our 4 day stay.
When we opted for housekeeping on the 3rd of the 4 days we stayed, the same pistachio remained there after the cleaning staff were done. Towels and bed linens were refreshed but the coffee/tea and bathroom amenities were not.
If you choose the Deluxe twin room like we did, please note that the room is 24 metre square and there is only room to open up one medium sized suitcase on the ground. Our other suitcase had to be accessed via the wardrobe which was spacious enough to keep the 2nd suitcase in.
Location wise, it's ideal and a stone's throw from Grand Place - the historic city centre, and many shops and good brasseries. It's a 10 min uphill walk from the hotel to the nearest train station called Brussel Centraal / Bruxelles-Midi which will bring you straight to the Brussels Airport in 17 min on the direct train (1st class carriage €12.10).
The buffet breakfast is plentiful and of good quality (with eggs cooked to order) in a nice space with a courtyard view crewed by pleasant staff fluent in English.
The bar has a relaxing ambience with an outdoor view and affordable drinks. My guide is always how much the increasingly rare digestif liqueur Chartreuse Verte costs. It was €14 per pour. Note : You get a free coupon for a soft drink/coffee/beer/wine if you pass up on room cleaning. If you have a short stay, you should as there wasn't much cleaning done.
AAnonymous UserThe room is spacious, clean and the beds are comfortable. Staff are friendly too ! On this level that we stayed, there is a gym and sauna room too. We really enjoyed our stay here. Will stay in this hotel again if were to travel to Belgium again.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a good place to rest and easy travelling to places like Grand Place, Mont des Art, Brussels North Train Station, etc.
This hotel is also near to the station Rogier, it is within walking distance. Hence, it is easy to travel to other places. Many shops and eateries nearby.
There is a beautiful Starbucks nearby too. Do have a cup of coffee there and enjoy. If you are looking for soup noodles, you must try Pho Pho opposite Thon Hotel. The noodles and soup are very tasty!

HHappyInfinitelyNear Rogier station. Just use exit 7(near Kiosk) of Rogier statio, via escalator and the back of hotel is there. The hotel required $euro 150 as security deposit. Our room is at level 1 which can be noisy at night as people just gather outside the public area iof the Rogier station. Breakfast is a bit boring without much choices. But overall still acceptable stay at this hotel.
