Nestled in the lush highlands near Ella, my stay around Ravana Falls was nothing short of breathtaking. The property, often referred to locally as “Ravana Rabge,” perfectly captures the charm and serenity that make this region one of Sri Lanka’s most beloved travel destinations. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the stunning architecture and its seamless blend with nature. Built across multiple levels on a hillside, the structure offers panoramic views of rolling green mountains, dense forests, and the distant valley below. The design is both modern and rustic, with warm wooden finishes, open balconies, and large glass windows that allow natural light to flood in throughout the day. Early mornings here feel magical—the soft golden sunlight gently touches the hills, while birdsong creates a peaceful wake-up call. One of the highlights of the property is its beautifully maintained outdoor space. The pool area is particularly inviting, offering a refreshing escape after a day of exploring nearby attractions. Sitting by the pool, surrounded by greenery and fresh mountain air, creates a sense of calm that is hard to find elsewhere. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, encouraging you to relax and fully enjoy the moment. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Each space provides a cozy yet elegant atmosphere, with attention given to both aesthetics and functionality. Waking up to a balcony view of the hills is an experience in itself—perfect for enjoying a cup of tea or coffee while soaking in the scenery. The overall ambiance makes it ideal for couples, solo travelers, or even small groups looking for a peaceful retreat. Another major advantage of staying here is its proximity to key attractions. Ravana Falls is just a short distance away, offering a spectacular natural sight and a refreshing stop for visitors. Additionally, the vibrant town of Ella is easily accessible, where you can explore cafes, local markets, and famous viewpoints like Ella Rock or the Nine Arches Bridge. The service at the property is warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any needs or travel tips. Their hospitality adds a personal touch to the stay, making guests feel truly cared for. If there’s one thing to note, it would be that the hillside location involves some walking and stairs, which may not be ideal for everyone. However, for most travelers, this is a small trade-off for the incredible views and peaceful environment. Overall, Ravana Rabge offers a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and scenic beauty. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure, or simply a break from busy city life, this place delivers an unforgettable experience. The ventilation window of the bathroom is directly open to the outdoors. After turning on the light at night, mosquitoes will fly in and small geckos will climb in. The room may be because it is too humid and has a smell. However, the hotel's service was very good. We went to Safari the next morning because the off-road vehicle was stuck in the mud and delayed the time. We returned to the hotel late. The hotel also called to ask if we needed to set aside our breakfast.

This guesthouse was highly recommended by some friends, and they were right! We arrived on the train from Kandy in the afternoon, and even though we had not informed the owner of this, he was waiting at the train station to pick us up. It was a short drive to the Guesthouse, where we met his wife and daughter, were given tea and made arrangements for a trip the following morning to Lipton's Peak (to watch the sunrise - early start but awesome!) We explained that we are vegan, but this was not a problem, and the lady of the house made us the most amazing dinner, with several curries, rice, drink and dessert. There was a small additional charge for dinner - and I mean small, especially given the quantity and quality of the meal. Delicious! Our room was very nice and clean with a comfortable bed and a nice balcony, where we sat outside and just listened to the night-time nature sounds of Haputale. We also had a private bathroom with lovely shower (bring your own toiletries). We were only staying overnight, to visit Lipton's Seat, after which we had the most AMAZING breakfast (my first time trying coconut sambal, soooo good!) The owner had then arranged for the same driver to take us to Udawalawa, which is 3 hours away, for a reasonable price. If you are visiting Haputale, I highly recommend this guesthouse - lovely family, comfortable accommodation and fantastic food. Thanks

Great location about 10 min walking from the train station, good staff and the place is clean and tidy. Looks like kind of a chain and that was what I wanted. The room is really small tho and there was no TV. But at least it’s very comfortable and you feel safe. As a solo women traveling I would recommend this place

Good impressions from the hotel. The room is beautiful, hot water, delicious dinner and breakfast.But, because of the nearby construction, the view from the window is not matched to the photos. But, that does not apply to the hotel.

All the staff were very kind and had a great stay. We had a buffet breakfast and dinner, but none of them were delicious and enjoyed Sri Lankan food. The hospitality of the hotel was transmitted by the manager at breakfast. I would like to use it again.

I had a wonderfull stay with a very friendly stuff. Salindu is a Artist in cooking i enjoyed is food daily. Adit the Man who is always there for me anytime . Great hotel, with unbeatable view of Ella rock on the balcony. However the room did not have universal plug sockets, the hotel provided a hairdryer but did not fit the plug socket. It is also very difficult to get to with suitcases. Fine if you’re backpacking, but carrying suitcases up the massive hill is very difficult. Perhaps the hotel should look into purchasing their own tuktuk to ferry customers up and down the hill. Not everyone is a backpacker!
