Very nice hotel restaurant. Very good experience, 5 points. The price is relatively affordable. There is nothing to eat nearby, but it is very quiet. The environment is very high. Next time you have the opportunity to stay again!
Good location on Tay St.
Facilities are great, laundry and fridges in laundry room are useful, I can put my oysters there.
Let's say this hotel is more valuable than my expectation comparing with hotels in other cities.
I would recommend to have a drop-box key for early check-out.
The main reason to go to Invercargill is to check in at the world's southernmost Starbucks. Etc. The hotel parking lot is in the public parking lot diagonally opposite. You need to register your license plate at the front desk before you can park, but it is free. There is a shopping mall in Invercargill and the world's southernmost Starbucks near the hotel. There is also a Queen's Park to visit. The town is not big and not crowded and very quiet.

The reception staff were very warm and friendly and even gave us a bottle of milk. We had requested a family room with a tower view, and the location was perfect – we could see the tower directly from our living room. Queen's Park is also just across the street. The only downside was the cooktop in the kitchenette; it was either too fast or very slow to heat up, quite old-fashioned, and difficult to use. Additionally, the motel requires guests to park their car directly outside their own room, and parking in other spots is not permitted.
At the very center of the city, it is convenient and convenient. It also has its own parking lot free of charge, but there may be no parking space. It is necessary to stop at the street. This small city is also very desolate. There is no one in the evening. The store closes early and the young people smoke and drink on the street. It is a bit scary. There is the world's southernmost Starbucks on the road opposite the hotel. Remember to check in.
Top location in front of the Te Anau lake and 1,5 -2 hours drive to Milford Sound. There are plenty of trails and other activities nearby. Includes a good Jimmy Cook restaurant with local cuisine and outstanding view to the lake & mountains! Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and comfortable rooms, a bit outdated. But overall a good stay
It's a small bungalow, run by Chinese. Check in at the front desk of glowworm restaurant. The restaurant said that the chef is from Intercontinental Hotel, but it's really expensive to eat Chinese food in NZ... You can park your car in front of the room. The bed is big and soft, but the room is a bit dark. Mid-March is the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. It's a bit cold at night, so I have to keep the air conditioner on.
Although the equipment is relatively old, the price is relatively low. As long as the hygiene and service are good, you are basically satisfied.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is in a very central location and has its own underground paid parking lot. Parking is free at the door at night. The oysters in the nearby town of Bluff are delicious. There is a very popular local restaurant that is great and requires advance reservation. New Zealand's express hotels do not retain guest information, only verify the reservation name, and pay great attention to privacy.
HHickeyI was pleasantly surprised given the outside exterior was rough run down however inside was tidy.
The room was small however adequate and had a nice view of the lake.
The shower head wasn’t great spraying in all directions and water went hot and cold. The bath was good and relaxing.
They could have better pillows firm pillows as the ones provided were quite soft.
However for what you pay it was adequate and served its purpose.

GGuest UserThe room details stated that children were welcome, but when we checked in, we were told that if we added a child, we would not be able to book the room (because the child slept in the middle and did not need an extra bed, so only 2 adults were added during the reservation) and we had to cancel our reservation. They said the hotel didn't want so many guests and that the law didn't allow it. Finally, we were asked to pay an additional 30 dollars and were given the key. They originally added a $30 child fee (which would be completely understandable if they had told us directly), and we got the feeling that this hotel hated children and discriminated against Asians. The whole check-in process was very unpleasant. Overall facilities are acceptable and the location is good. But due to the bad check-in experience, I was in no mood to appreciate the beautiful scenery. Negotiations to cancel the stay were made throughout the evening, but to no avail. The manager had a tough attitude and did not apologize from beginning to end, which ruined my good mood for the whole day.

GGuest UserWe spent one night, having driven down from Wanaka and intending to continue to the Milford Sound tour the following day. Donna was very welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed and were comfortable. The history of the building was fascinating, and the antique decor and trinkets added to the charm. Breakfast the following morning was great- wonderful scrambled eggs. Thank you!
GGuest UserWas priced very cheap - room clean but very dated , camp kitchen needed a good scrubbing, broken amenities and no washing machine working - BUT hospitality was great and restaurant attached gave us one of the nicest and cheapest meals we had - took some famous sausages to cook away with us.
We were in hostel so was cheapest accommodation they had - 4 people room was only $100
