The hotel is very nice, clean and sanitary. The restaurant is very crowded with people, many people eat there, the surrounding environment is very good and the service is very considerate.
Mega delicious and pleasant place and beautiful breakfast, however wondering that wasn't empty waste pads in the room, filling of toilet paper and switching towels and bedwear and we were there for three days.
The hotel’s location is excellent — just a short walk from the central station, which made getting around very convenient. However, I was disappointed by a few aspects of the stay. The hotel provides grey towels, which I found unappealing; white towels generally give a better sense of cleanliness. Breakfast was adequate, though some of the fruit offered was of poor quality.
I also had concerns about the room’s cleanliness. After our first night, it didn’t seem like the room had been thoroughly cleaned — the drinking glasses we had used weren’t replaced, and some visible stains we had accidentally made were not wiped down. Additionally, the iron in the room tripped the power on both occasions we tried to use it, which was quite frustrating.
The refrigerator in our room wasn’t working properly, so the drinks we stored inside remained warm. I also found the 11:00 a.m. checkout time to be inconvenient, as a later checkout would have allowed for a more relaxed departure.
I arrived around 9 pm and it was already dark. Still, the surroundings near the central station felt safe because there were plenty of people around. It was about an 8-minute walk, though Google Maps sent me on a longer route when I could have just taken a shortcut near the train tracks.
The reception was lovely. I even asked for some ice cubes since it was quite humid that day and normal temperature water wasn’t enough to cool me down. The room itself was nice, just right for one person. As it was parallel to the train tracks, you could hear them passing, but only faintly. I was so tired that I slept really well.
I didn’t order breakfast so I can’t comment on that. I checked out at 12 pm, and they provided luggage storage free of charge, which was definitely a plus. I came back for my luggage at 6 pm with no issues.
Breakfast: buffet style, good. Wish there were more kinds of fruit available.
Room: size is ok for 1 person, the bed is quite big. Hair dryer, hangers provided. No kettles can be borrowed and you can only get hot water at the front desk.
Staff: i arrived a bit early but the staff let me check in early. nice and helpful
Others: there’s a gym, sauna, outdoor jacuzzi too. Close to a bus stop.
Staying at Clarion Hotel The Pier in Sweden turned out to be one of those experiences where you feel at ease almost immediately. There’s a certain warmth to the place that makes it stand out from the moment you walk through the doors.
Friendly Staff Who Truly Welcome You
What I noticed right away was how genuinely friendly the staff were. Every time we entered or walked past the front desk, we were greeted with a smile or a kind word. It’s such a simple gesture, but it created this feeling of being looked after, as if we were more than just passing guests.
A Location That Balances Quiet and Convenience
The hotel’s setting struck the perfect balance—peaceful and quiet, yet still so easy to get into the city center. It felt like we had the best of both worlds: calm evenings by the water, and the city’s energy just a short ride away.
Beautiful Skyline and Water Views
From the hotel, the view stretched across the skyline and the water, and it was just lovely. Whether it was morning light reflecting off the buildings or the soft glow in the evenings, those views gave the place a special atmosphere that I won’t forget.
A Studio Room That Feels Like Home
Our studio room came with a small kitchenette, and I can’t stress enough how handy that was. For a longer stay, being able to cook a simple meal or make a late tea added such a homely touch. The room itself felt modern and cozy, just right for settling in without feeling cramped.
A Breakfast with Heart
Breakfast was always a cheerful way to start the day, not just because of the food but because of the people. The breakfast chef, a lovely lady with beautiful red hair, had the warmest presence. She greeted everyone with such kindness that it set the tone for the rest of the day.
Looking back, what made Clarion Hotel The Pier memorable wasn’t just the location or the facilities—it was the sense of care woven through the stay. Between the quiet setting, the beautiful views, the comfort of the room, and those daily warm greetings (especially at breakfast), the hotel managed to feel both professional and genuinely personal.
Good with few limitations
The hotel is very centrally located. The price is also positive: a good price-performance ratio, very friendly staff, includes dinner (a day-to-day dinner, soup and salad from the buffet, good and rich) as well as coffee/tea/cacao plus cakes in the afternoon.
Negative: a small room, sticky at night and a small bed (1.40m) with very soft mattress. The room was so small that we hardly passed each other. The request for two single beds and a hotel parking was not answered. The hotel has only a limited number of parking places, we found a cheap at the university, about 3 minutes walk.
This hotel is conveniently located at central station in Gothenburg. Very walkable and close to shopping and restaurants. The area is busy with lots of transit and people, bit the hotel is overall quiet. Breakfast is good with an assortment of items, but can get repetitive for longer stays as the food items are the same each day. The rooms are comfortable and good size with spacious bathrooms. The bathrooms are quite basic and needs upgrading as ours had some broken tiles across the corners. Overall a. Very good hotel that we'd stay in again.
Nice, comfortable, and clean room. There's a living area and a table for breakfast/meals. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the bathroom is quite spacious. The bed is loft-style (but with a low ceiling). Good Wi-Fi, TV, and Netflix are provided. It's close to a bus stop (400m) and about 5 minutes from the city center. I highly recommend it!
There is no way for a business trip. The room is very small and the hygiene is not good. The kettle is washed and has a thick layer of dirt. The pillow is also dirty. Maybe it's because the prices here are high.

GGuest UserWe arrived at 7:30 pm and were told we got a room “upgrade”. The room was small so we really wondered what the “original” room looked like. The bed had stains on the cover that was laid under the mattress
which didn’t look good. We went down to the lobby and found nobody present. We moved on to the restaurant, it was 8 pm. Half full and we were met with the wonderful advise that they were closed for service. This was Friday May 16th and the menu
board was still at the entrance door to the restaurant.
We went back to the reception and queried why the restaurant was not serving dinner at 8 pm on a Friday.
The receptionist looked dumbfounded and told us it usually serves dinner at least until 9 pm but she took no action to assist us except to say we could walk fir 15 minutes to the Aveny, a street with lots of restaurants but could not suggest any close by. We ended up going to, as it happened, a fantastic restaurant right around the corner called Le Pigalle on the top floor of, we guess, a competing hotel. Fabulous meal in a restaurant that knew how to treat their guests.
In short we have regretfully no positive things to say about the ProfilHotels Opera in Gothenburg.
Gothenburg was fantastic but when we return we will definitely not book at the Opera which is overpriced for the standard and service they offer. Total waste of money at this venue. Regretfully we did not bother to take any pictures of the place as it is nothing we wish to remember about it.
MMr.SaifMy recent stay at the Scandic Göteborg Central was a truly positive experience, largely thanks to its fantastic location and the excellent service provided. Being just a short, pleasant 10-minute walk from the central station was incredibly convenient. This made arriving and departing effortless, and exploring the city using public transport was a breeze. The service I encountered throughout the hotel was consistently great. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, and any queries I had were addressed promptly and with genuine care. One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the breakfast. The spread was impressive, offering a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. From fresh pastries and bread to a selection of hot dishes, cereals, fruits, and yogurts, there was something for everyone. The quality of the food was also noteworthy, making for a delightful start to each day. Overall, the Scandic Göteborg Central offered a comfortable and convenient base for my time in Gothenburg. Its perfect location near the central station, coupled with the great service and delicious breakfast, made for a memorable and enjoyable stay. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.

SScullyThe staff working on the weekend were super nice and helpful, and I’ve stayed here many, many times, always so nice & such a lovely boutique place to stay with many awesome things to like. On the day I checked out oh my god, where did this girl suddenly come from? Little wanna be Swedish police officer banging on my door trying to get in. Ok i fell asleep after breakfast? So what. Even after i checked out & and was just having a coffee in the lobby, she came again in my face demanding to know if i had checked out? She was just rude, unprofessional, behavior was unbelievable. Really ruined my experience at the nice hotel Pigalle. Actually, I don’t accept people thinking they are better than everyone else & they think that they can just talk to people like they are a piece of crap. Therefore, sadly, I don’t think I will ever stay here ever again.. Sorry but..
