Daleena RollinsBeautiful property, but distressing stay delayed departure for medical care and unresolved billing dispute
Meuly Family Lodge looked beautiful in the location was convenient. Unfortunately my experience became frightening when I became seriously ill. I’m a kidney transplant patient I arrived already feeling unwell from what I believed was travel, fatigue, and altitude sickness. During my stay, I experienced stomach cramps, diarrhea, and extreme sleep is after meals initially, I attributed this to traveling, but the symptoms continue and became progressively worse after tasting the final meal from my finger my tongue became numb. My heart began pounding and fluttering, and I experienced severe dizziness, headache, nausea, and disorientation. I put the uneaten food outside and laid down immediately, and I struggled my symptoms. Eventually led me to seek urgent medical assistance. My medical evaluation is ongoing as I’m currently writing this review from the hospital during the hours I was resting Fred the owner who had brought my meals, repeatedly, knocked and called my screenshot. Show the repeated contact at 10:32 PM. I told the lodge I was sick and had called for an ambulance. I asked whether it had arrived. The reply was yes I requested getting help out the messages then asked me to open the door and then said OK. I’ll find another way, but I have not even gotten off the bed yet to attempt to open the door when I did open the door Fred and another man were there doing that encounter a man pushed against the door as I tried to close it? I managed to shut it and lock it at 10:36 PM iMessage the lodge that is not the ambulance this experience frightening me horribly a nurse. Her husband subsequently arrived to take me to the hospital however, our departure was delayed while the lodge claim that my accommodation had not been paid, I showed my payment records and booking confirmation and then Contact or Trip.com repeatedly while ill. Finally, Trip.com was able to confirm in writing that my accommodation payment was settled with the hotel. Despite that confirmation we continue waiting while the lodge demanded payment for food. The nursing and her husband witnessed the dispute. The food charges were so unclear their highest meal price I recalling on the menu is 10,000 shillings after ordering I no longer had access to the menu. I requested it again in writing, but it was not provided so I offered 60,000 shillings in cash at that time to settle the meals and beverages based on the prices I had seen the lodge refused at that offer during the dispute. I was quoted several different amounts including 100 USD 75 USD and 85 USD and food charges the later handwritten bill list of the dinners at USD 15 each one lunch USD 15 three juices total USD six and one soda at USD two that came out to USD 83 for five meals and four drinks the same bill marked my six right night of accommodation as paid the large leader contacted Trip.com saying I owe them $75 for food. I was not refusing to discuss a food bill. I was asking for the menu and a can sit in a consistent explanation of the charges and recognition that my accommodation had already been paid. I was told if I wanna leave I would have to leave my passport at that time and I refuse. I eventually left for Medicare with essential belongings, but I was forced to leave two large suitcases behind, but I did lock them myself, and I still have the key after I reached the hospital. Fred unexpectedly appeared at my bedside to discuss the food payment. I had not told him which hospital I was attending given what had happened earlier and how I was I found this visit very distressing. I had to repeatedly ask him to leave after the hospital visit. The lodge reported to the police that I had not paid for my accommodation, even though I had shown proof of payment and Trip.com had already confirmed in writing that the bookie was settled. I provided my receipt so that so the payment information could be passed

Great place to spend couple days in calm and relaxing environment. We spent only one night here after arrival to Arusha and before starting our safari. I wish we had more days here. We stayed in villa which is big enough for family of four, it was equipped with everything we needed. There also was a private pool in the villa but we did not use it is it was quite cool. Nice breakfast was included into cost of accommodation so we got enough energy to start our safari then.

My friend and me stayed here for four nights after our safari ended in Arusha.
Our room is spacious with many amenities available such as table/chairs and a TV. There are also three power sockets, which is always appreciated. There were no wardrobe and fridge but some hooks were available for hanging clothes. Hot water is available in the bathroom although the water pressure could be stronger. Our shower area tends to flood due to bad drainage, and I even dropped my clothes into the water once. The room is clean but a little dim at night. Windows have anti-bug screens and curtains, which are essential to block the sun’s intensity in the morning. Wifi works like a charm.
The front reception counter is usually empty as the hotel staff tends to congregate in the kitchen instead. They were quite helpful and lent me a laptop to do some file transfers between my various devices when asked. The daily breakfast provided tasted average. The location is a little far from town and we needed to engage a driver from Bolt app for most day activities. There are no grocery stores nearby but it’s possible to buy some mineral water from the kitchen staff.
This hotel is near to a mosque so it’s periodically noisy in the morning and evening. It is also near to the main road so we will hear loud traffic every now and then. That said, I was able to sleep relatively well every night. The rate here is pretty cheap for a twin room so I felt this stay was quite value for money.

Anonymous UserFirst of all, there is no AC in the rooms. This was one of the main reasons why we booked the room and when we got here we found out no rooms had AC. And despite not being far from the clock tower, you have to go through at least 500m in a very uneven unpaved road to get to the place. Also, if you choose to pay at the property, you’ll have to pay cash, there’a no credit card maxhine. The place and rooms are clean and there’s breakfast. You’re getting what you’re paying for, I was with a group and this was the place they decided to stay, if I were staying by myself I wouldn’t choose it and certainly wouldn’t stay here again.

We stayed at this place at the start and come back to stay at the end of our trip. The hotel is very clean. Service was great. Foods are delicious. There are 3 restaurants to choose from. Overall I’d recommend this place.

一軒家の中にたくさん個人の部屋があり、リビングやキッチン、ダイニングが共用になっています。たくさんの人数で一緒に泊まると便利だと思いました。

I stayed here twice. The first time, I booked the cheapest single room, P1. It was tiny, barely enough space to turn around, and I had to open the door to fully open my suitcase. Later, due to a power issue, I was moved to P2, which I believe is a more expensive single room, and it was much more spacious. My second stay was in a triple room. The bedding wasn't great, but everything else was reasonably clean. It's very close to the station and a supermarket, so for the price, you can't really ask for much more.
