On the first day, participants will have the opportunity to utilize the slab roller to introduce unique textural elements and botanical imprints to their envisioned vessel. After a week and the initial firing, attendees will learn how to enhance the intricate details of their textured pieces using a range of iron oxides, carbonates, and underglazes.
This class is suitable for both beginners and experienced potters who wish to expand their knowledge in hand-building and gain insights into the distinct qualities of different oxide and carbonate mixtures.

The seminar aims to help individuals build cardiovascular and muscular endurance while maintaining strength, increase the aerobic power plants in cells, maximize power, and improve joint stability. This class is exclusively for individuals aged 18 and above.
No prior rock experience is necessary to participate in this class. However, please note that the ability to walk on uneven ground and climb stairs is required to access the beach. On the first day (Sunday, February 4th), the group will gather at Carkeek Park at 12pm. Prior to the class, you will receive an email containing detailed directions and additional information. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks. Please refrain from bringing children or pets along with you.
On the second day (Monday, February 5th), you will delve into the art of cutting and polishing stones. Under the guidance of the instructor, you will learn how to transform your rough stone into a beautifully shaped and polished cabochon, suitable for jewelry or display purposes. This class will also introduce you to the tools and equipment necessary for stone cutting. Successfully completing this class will count as one of the prerequisites for accessing the open lapidary studio.
Throughout the class, it is important to note that part 2 involves working with loud equipment. Earplugs will be provided to ensure your comfort. Please be aware that tickets for this event are non-transferable and non-refundable, similar to tickets for sporting events or concerts. Join us for an exciting class on Mime and Physical Improv in Seattle. This class, led by renowned teacher Jay Hitt, will teach you the basic skills necessary to transform an empty space into a world of endless possibilities. Using only their skill and imagination, mimes are able to create full environments and objects, and this class will show you how they do it.
The class will take place at the Unexpected Productions Improv School, located at 650 South Orcas Suite 217, Seattle, WA 98108. It will run for four Tuesdays, starting on February 6th and ending on February 27th. The class will be held from 7:00pm to 9:30pm.
Jay Hitt, the creator and director of Mouth Wide Shut, a non-verbal improvised show, will be the teacher for this class. Jay is known for his fearless approach to physical improv and his precision in object work and environment creation. He has been teaching and coaching improv since 1998 and has studied with coaches from America and Europe.
Please note that this class requires movement and action, so come dressed accordingly and bring a bottle of water. The cost of the class is $150.00 and there is a maximum of 20 students. All levels of experience are welcome.
