It also highlights how Chinese art, along with art from other parts of the world, has inspired the jeweller in terms of style and decorative motifs, as well as techniques and materials, and how Chinese aesthetics have influenced women's lifestyles and global fashion. The exhibition demonstrates the HKPM’s innovative curatorial approach and testifies to its mission to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration and encourage dialogue between China and the rest of the world in arts and culture.
Celebrating the role and influence of women throughout Cartier’s history
The exhibition explores the bond between women and jewellery through a series of captivating narratives that reflect Cartier’s deep connections with many influential women throughout history and in the present day. The story of Jeanne Toussaint (1887-1976) is one of the highlights. As Cartier’s first female Creative Director, not only supported female empowerment through her jewellery design, but also embodied and encouraged a new freedom of attitude marked by femininity, free-spiritedness and independence. Her work paved the way for other women to take jewellery beyond the enhancement of external beauty to an intimate revelation of personality and spirit.

Magnificence And Grandeur Immersive Experience of Grotto Art | National Museum of China
Jan 1–Dec 31, 2024 (UTC+8)
Beijing
"Colorful World - Immersive Experience of Grotto Art" is officially open to the public on the third-floor platform and corridor on the north side of the National Museum of China.
The exhibition space for this immersive experience is about 1,500 square meters. The giant digital installation is designed with a blooming lotus as the main body. The artists combine digital painting, digital 3D Mapping images and AI algorithm technology to express, explore and interpret the artistic style and rich connotations of Kizil Grottoes, Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, Maijishan Grottoes, Yungang Grottoes and Longmen Grottoes with contemporary vision and unique perspectives. The "Rhombus World", "Eternal Pearl", "Oriental Smile", "Ten Directions of the Same Origin" and "Strange and Wonderful Realm" form the "Art Space-Time Experience Area", and there are also "Teaching Interactive Experience Area" and "Derivative Artwork Area", which together form a panoramic immersive experience environment, and the grotto art is given a new interpretation.
The giant digital installation and the fully sensory interactive exhibition are a highlight of this experience, which opens up a new perspective for the analysis and appreciation of cave art, and also subverts the basic mode of traditional immovable cultural relics display in terms of technology and perception. Many cave art scenes have been refined and catalyzed by contemporary aesthetic concepts, some solemn and sacred, some magnificent and graceful, and gathered together across time and space. These imaginative digital art re-creations convey the aesthetic pursuit, value concept and cultural spirit carried by ancient Chinese cave art, allowing cultural heritage to continue with new artistic language based on the original creation, and radiate new vitality in the changes of the times.
Grotto temples are an important part of my country's ancient cultural heritage and a shining pearl in the long history of Chinese civilization. They have unique historical, artistic and scientific values: "Cultural relics and cultural heritage carry the genes and blood of the Chinese nation and are non-renewable and irreplaceable resources of China's excellent civilization. We must bring more cultural relics and cultural heritage to life and create a strong social atmosphere for inheriting Chinese civilization." The National Museum of China has always attached great importance to the protection, inheritance, display and promotion of China's excellent cultural heritage, and actively explored new ways and new carriers for the revitalization and utilization of cultural relics. I sincerely hope that this immersive experience will promote the further improvement of the display and utilization level of grotto temples, promote the creative transformation and innovative development of China's excellent traditional culture, continuously enhance cultural awareness, strengthen cultural confidence, promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and make new and greater contributions to building a cultural power and building a modern civilization of the Chinese nation.
