The event is known for its flat, fast and scenic coastal course, with about 95% of the course running along the surf beaches of the Gold Coast and Broadwater with minimal elevation variation. July is the southern hemisphere winter, with an average temperature of around 18-20°C and a cool, dry climate that provides ideal conditions for setting personal best times (PBs), with more than 60% of competitors setting new records each year. The track offers views of the Pacific Ocean, golden sands and landmarks, and even the chance to witness migrating humpback whales, creating a unique running experience. The event is rich in settings, including 2km, 5km, 10km, half marathon, full marathon and a 63km combination event, suitable for runners of different ages and abilities. The closing time of the entire marathon is 6 hours and 40 minutes, and it is very friendly to novices. Finishers will receive commemorative medals, T-shirts, electronic certificates and other souvenirs.

The Sessions Surf Festival returns to Australia for the second year in a row, bringing an even bigger feast of surfing, film, art, and live music to the Gold Coast from May 23 to 30. SSF will host a major live music festival at Miami Marketta on Saturday, May 23, headlined by Dope Lemon, and featuring five strong bands including Babe Rainbow, Mt. Warning, and Makua, as well as two local bands (to be announced).
