The first artist to be featured is Raoul Olou, a skilled multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto. His installation, Sabali, is an invitation for the audience to embark on a contemplative journey. By encouraging us to observe the world around us more closely, Olou challenges us to identify hidden patterns and systems, and to distinguish between the original and its imitations. Experience this thought-provoking installation at BAND's temporary space at 401 Richmond St W., suite LL108. The workshop aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of generative language models while drawing inspiration from theories of novelization, images of language, and the multifaceted nature of voice. Participants will gain hands-on experience with AI language models and learn how to customize them artistically. The December 5th session will cover the basics and advanced techniques of generative language models, providing participants with a strong foundation in AI tools. The session will also explore the art of novelization within AI, focusing on creating multilayered texts. In the second session on December 12th, participants will further enrich their technical knowledge with advanced tools and techniques. They will also learn how to translate AI-generated text into visual art, fostering the creation of multivocal art with AI. By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the technical know-how to create unique artworks that reflect the diversity and depth of human language and narratives. The workshop aims to foster an environment for innovative creation at the intersection of technology and art. Interested participants are required to bring a laptop with Windows or Mac OS. However, those without access to this equipment can inquire about equipment rental through InterAccess. Please note that equipment availability is not guaranteed.
