InterAccess presents the Images of Language: Making Things with Generative Language workshop in Toronto. This two-session workshop, taking place on December 5th and 12th, 2023, will delve into the world of generative language models, offering participants the opportunity to work directly with language models and explore artistic integration. The workshop aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of generative language models while drawing inspiration from theories of novelization, images of language, and the multifaceted nature of voice. Participants will gain hands-on experience with AI language models and learn how to customize them artistically. The December 5th session will cover the basics and advanced techniques of generative language models, providing participants with a strong foundation in AI tools. The session will also explore the art of novelization within AI, focusing on creating multilayered texts. In the second session on December 12th, participants will further enrich their technical knowledge with advanced tools and techniques. They will also learn how to translate AI-generated text into visual art, fostering the creation of multivocal art with AI. By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the technical know-how to create unique artworks that reflect the diversity and depth of human language and narratives. The workshop aims to foster an environment for innovative creation at the intersection of technology and art. Interested participants are required to bring a laptop with Windows or Mac OS.
