The event will begin with a screening of Yin-Ju Chen's film, Beyond Right and Wrong, There is a Garden. I Will Meet You There, which delves into the material effects of spiritual practices and the metaphysical properties of consciousness. Following the screening, scholar Christina Kiaer will discuss her essay on Soviet artist Anna Andreeva's cosmic fabric designs, challenging conventional interpretations. Author Xin Wang will then explore the monumental inscriptions of Buddhist texts on Chinese mountainsides and their connection to nonhuman intelligences. Members of the Biennale's curatorial team, Lukas Brasiskis and Hallie Ayres, will also share their respective texts. The evening will conclude with a performance by artist Kite, utilizing a custom hair-braid computer interface to manipulate sound. Light refreshments will be provided.
