2 DAY EVENT FRIDAY DEC 6 / SATURDAY DEC 7 Come join our DePaul Athletic Dance Team Winter Workshop where you will learn from FOUR incredibly talented Chicagoland professional dancers and teachers. This two-day series will provide comprehensive dance training for current team members, future interested dancers, and those who want a general dance training opportunity. This is a great opportunity for dancers interested in auditioning for our upcoming season as you will be able to interact with current members as well as dance in the styles we love. Here, you will prepare for auditions, receive technical feedback for auditions, experience our team culture, meet the coaching staff and current team as well as dance alongside them. We HIGHLY encourage this workshop to all interested in next season. DePaul University Dance Team's Winter Workshop contains four 1.5 hour workshop classes. Both days will include a Q&A session with our instructors as well as our coaching staff. Her work resonates with the facts, readings, and translations of life’s elements, which she conveys through recurring themes, forms, textures, and colors. Travel, whether daily commutes or overseas trips, plays a crucial role in her art. Holmes meticulously chronicles her experiences, translating them into paintings and tufted rugs. She creates sketches on the go, using them in the studio alongside her memories and emotions to produce images that reflect direct observation and emotional resonance. Holmes’ process involves constant examination and reexamination, which extends to her painting and color mixing with yarn. Recently, she has been creating paired tufted and painted works, allowing her to make creative decisions fluidly. While acrylic paint offers immediacy and ease of experimentation, working with yarn is more time-consuming, requiring careful blending and consideration. By alternating between these mediums, Holmes can test an idea in one place and realize and refine it in the other. In many instances, guests are seated with the performers and don't even realize it until they die...the performers, that is! Our Detectives proceed to interrogate everyone and find clues as the mystery unfolds. At the end of the night, prizes are awarded to the Top Sleuth who solves the crime. The Dinner Detective performs at The Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile, a full-service hotel in beautiful downtown Chicago, Illinois. We offer an amazing murder mystery show paired with a fantastic four-course plated dinner. You will receive tray-passed appetizers, salad, and dessert along with a choice of Roasted Chicken, Seared Salmon, OR Vegetarian Pasta.
