Additionally, it is essential to ensure that their early experiences in sports are positive and enjoyable, regardless of their ability, gender, social class, or race. Adults, both volunteers and professionals, play a significant role in providing these positive experiences by acting as role models when interacting with young people. The work of Children's Officers, both at the club and national level, is particularly instrumental in implementing the Sport Ireland Code. Building on this valuable work will help ensure that all young people view sports and physical activity as important aspects of their lives that they will continue to embrace in adulthood.
