Vesak Day is the day when Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and passed away in Buddhist culture, usually around the 15th day of the fourth lunar month. Every household in Sri Lanka will hang lanterns, and Sri Lankans will also make lanterns by themselves, and there will be lantern viewing activities at night. Beira Lake and Gangarama Temple in Colombo are relatively concentrated places for viewing lanterns, which are very lively.
