Andy Warhol: Selling Art | Daejeon Museum of Art
Exhibitions
This exhibition, divided into ten sections, comprehensively presents Warhol's artistic career, from his early commercial illustrations to textile design, advertising, film, record covers, celebrity portraits, and self-portraits. Unlike previous Warhol exhibitions, this one showcases the "commercialization of art" from multiple dimensions—Warhol's strategic thinking on how to produce, disseminate, and consume images. Warhol's illustrations, graphic designs, record covers, and advertising images vividly record the intersection of art and marketing, commerce and creativity. By exploring how artists become brands and how art is transformed into commerce, this exhibition presents Warhol's views, which remain relevant in today's context of capitalism influencing culture as a whole.
