Kate Ellis was born and brought up in Liverpool and studied drama in Manchester. She worked in a variety of jobs, none of which she particularly enjoyed, before discovering that writing crime fiction was what she’d wanted to do all along! Described by The Times as ‘a beguiling author who interweaves past and present’ she has written twenty eight novels featuring archaeology graduate, DI Wesley Peterson and five crime novels with a supernatural twist featuring DI Joe Plantagenet. She has also written a trilogy set in the aftermath of the First World War featuring Scotland Yard detective DI Albert Lincoln. Her latest Wesley Peterson novel, Coffin Island, was published in August 2024. (Nulla di quanto riportato sopra intende sminuire il valore di allenare un lato alla volta per perseguire la simmetria del corpo mentre ci si prepara per l’asimmetria della vita. Non ha senso incolpare il cacciavite per essere un pessimo martello.) L’allenamento con due kettlebell ha una barriera d’ingresso spietatamente alta: mobilità, stabilità e simmetria di un sollevatore di pesi olimpico o di un esperto di yoga. ABIEIÉ PORTAL: Afro Brazilian Dance Masterclass w/ IRINEU NOGUEIRA @irineunogueira + traditional & newly created African rhythms held by DEMBIS THIOUNG @dembisthioung Irineu opened ABIEIÉ in Brazil 10 years ago, an energetic portal where participants connect with the spirit of African-Brazilian history & rich culture through movement, voice, sounds and rhythms. During his 8 year chapter in London, Irineu connected with Senegalese traditional percussionist artist Dembis Thioung offering weekly sessions at The Place & Siobhan Davies, tour around Europe & the Caribbean, growing & expanding the Abieié family until he moved to Munich in 2019. During this time-less capsule many movements were downloaded and incorporated, traditional African rhythms were played, new rhythms and connections were created and the family kept expanding and growing, always sharing the respect & love amongst all. He holds a Masters in Performance Design and Practice from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), has been a dance teacher at The Place and Siobhan Davies Studios and a movement tutor for actors at the prestigious Guildhall School of Drama and Music in London. He collaborates with major international names in dance, theater, and music, and his work is often multidisciplinary, crossing into opera, theater, musicals, cinema, and circus. His approach incorporates eclectic references and experiences, combining contemporary dance techniques with the diversity of Afro-Brazilian culture to create a unique methodology for the body. Irineu Nogueira is also known for Samba and Afro-Brazilian culture, working with Samba Schools at the São Paulo Carnival. He also founded the Bloco Serafina, the Bambas Festival - A Movement and Music Festival, the VOA Dance Retreat - A Dance Journey to Brazil, and the International Samba Congress Europe, held for the first time in the city of Munich in 2019. The “new” Velvettes are a new and improved version of the band that have played an exclusive Christmas season of shows at Farmleigh for over 10 years!
