One of the great aspects of our club is the flexibility it offers. You can dip in and out whenever you want, without committing to playing every week. There's no need to worry about booking courts or convincing friends to join you. You can simply book online and enjoy playing. Daniel Davidson, born in Edinburgh, Scotland, is a highly accomplished dance artist and choreographer. Having trained at The Dance School of Scotland and Millennium Performing Arts, Daniel danced for Scottish Ballet and later joined Rambert, where he showcased his exceptional talent until 2022. As a freelance artist, he has expanded his repertoire and recently assumed the role of Assistant Choreographer to Marion Motin for Jean Paul Gaultier's Fashion Freak Show. Daniel's choreographic brilliance has been showcased in various notable productions, including those for Rambert School, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and Covent Garden Dance Company, to name a few. Currently pursuing an MA in Choreography at Central School of Ballet, Daniel Davidson is a rising star in the industry.

The Observation into Imagination - A 2 Day Drawing and Painting Workshop is a comprehensive and immersive experience that combines the worlds of observation and imagination. Taking place in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, this workshop provides participants with the opportunity to explore the creation of drawings and paintings that seamlessly blend these two realms.
Led by experienced tutors Alexandra Beteeva and Anuschka Barlas, graduates of the renowned Glasgow School of Art, this workshop offers a unique insight into contemporary approaches to image-making. Through a series of carefully curated exercises and discussions, participants will learn how to transform observational drawings into more considered and expressive works.
The workshop begins with a presentation on the first day, where tutors will delve into the exciting possibilities that arise when combining drawing and painting, observation and imagination. A life drawing session with a model will follow, allowing participants to generate imagery using a combination of short and long poses. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to the studio, where participants will have the opportunity to push their works in new directions, through reworking, layering, or creating small paintings.
The second day of the workshop explores still-life compositions, with morning exercises dedicated to observational drawing. Participants will also learn how to combine the figure with objects and space effectively. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to painting, where studies will be transformed into resolved works, taking into consideration important elements such as composition, color, and material properties.
This workshop provides a collaborative and encouraging environment, allowing participants to immerse themselves in their artistic practice and explore the breadth and depth of possibilities offered by the materials and knowledge at their disposal. Join the Edinburgh Literary Salon for December's Festive Salon at Argonaut Books in Edinburgh. This highly anticipated event promises an evening filled with Readings, Refreshments, and Entertainment. It's the perfect opportunity to end the Literary Year in style at one of our favorite bookshops. Embracing the spirit of the season, we're adopting the KISS principle - Keep It Simple, Stupid! Expect a delightful evening of readings, including selections from our fabulous anthology, The Golden Hours, along with mingling and other surprises. The festivities kick off with a wine reception at 6.30, followed by a livestream of the entertainment on Zoom at 7pm. The program will last approximately 75 minutes. Limited slots are available for in-person readers on a first-come basis. If you'd like to read (six minutes only!), simply book a 'Reader' ticket and we'll add you to the list. Don't worry if it's over-subscribed, as we'll create a waiting list. Confirmation and further details will be provided after December 9th. After the event, we invite you to continue the celebration at a local hostelry, as is our customary tradition. The schedule for the evening is as follows: Doors open at 6.30 with drinks and refreshments at Argonaut Books. At 6.50, we'll open the Zoom meeting (details will be emailed to all ticket-holders). The Festive Readings and Entertainment begin promptly at 7.00. There will be a short break at 7.35, allowing you to purchase presents from Argonaut Books.
