Learn the essential skills needed to maintain your bike's headset bearings at the upcoming bike maintenance class, "Get your head on right - headset bike maintenance." Hosted by Lang Toun Cycles at their venue located at 245 High Street, Kirkcaldy, this class is part of their autumn programme of bike maintenance classes. Led by experienced cycle mechanics, anyone can register for this course, regardless of their previous experience. The minimum age requirement for participants is 12 years, and those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
During the class, you will be taught how to check your headset bearings for wear and how to properly remove and refit them. To make the most of the class, it is recommended to bring your own bike. However, Lang Toun Cycles can also provide bikes for use if needed. All required tools, protective equipment, and work stands will be provided to ensure a safe and efficient learning experience.
Please come dressed in clothing that you don't mind getting dirty, as you will be working with grease and grime. Aprons and gloves will be provided to protect your clothing and hands. Additionally, water, tea, and coffee will be available throughout the class.
While attendance to this event is free, it is necessary to book your spot in advance. Tickets with a donation option are also available, as your contributions help support the community work of Greener Kirkcaldy. If you encounter any difficulties during the booking process or have any questions, feel free to reach out to Greener Kirkcaldy via phone at 01592 858458 or email at info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk.
Please note that the workshop will take place upstairs and unfortunately, there is no lift access. The venue can be accessed through either the front or rear entrance, with a total of 22 steps from the ground floor to the workshop (14 steps from the rear entrance). If you have any other accessibility concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact Greener Kirkcaldy at the provided phone number or email address.
