Join sculptors Kitty Ross and Amber Ginsburg at the Smart Museum of Art in Chicago for an in-gallery conversation and walk-through of the exhibition "Ruth Duckworth: Life As A Unity" on January 21, 2024. Led by Ross and Ginsburg, this thought-provoking conversation goes beyond a studio potter attribution to explore Duckworth's work in the broader context of sculpture and her trajectory in Chicago's ceramic community. 
Amber Ginsburg is known for her site-generated projects and social sculptures that bring historical scenarios into present-day situations. Drawing on her background in craft, she examines the continuities and ruptures in material and social histories. Collaborating with experts in fields such as botany, political activism, biology, and science fiction, Ginsburg's work engages multiple communities and imagines alternative futures. She is a professor at the University of Chicago's Department of Visual Arts and has exhibited widely, including at the Thailand Biennale, the Bristol Biennial, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
Katherine (Kitty) Ross, a Professor Emeritus at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, has a 40-year career teaching ceramics. As the former Chair of the Ceramics Department and Interim Dean of Graduate Studies, Ross brings a wealth of experience to her studio practice. Her approach to ceramics is informed by a material, conceptual, and historical perspective. Ross has received numerous awards and grants for her work, including the Chicago Artists International Program Travel Grant and the Arts Midwest/NEA Grant. She is also a member of the International Academy of Ceramics.

It&#39;s worth visiting, but the price is a bit high, so it doesn&#39;t feel like great value for money. There&#39;s a slanted window inside that offers a downward view of the city, but that costs extra. Overall, it doesn&#39;t feel like good value for money.

Grant Park is also a good place to visit for free. The most common people you see are locals doing outdoor sports. Running is very popular and can be seen at different times of the day. There are also some people walking their dogs.
