The exhibition title “Return” refers not only to her return to Munich, where she once studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in the class of Sean Scully, but also to a reflection on the return to the fundamentals of painting.
Bittl’s participation in 2020 in the major show of 53 artists of today’s forty-year-olds “Jetzt! Junge Malerei in Deutschland”, exhibited by the curators of the Kunstmuseen Bonn and Wiesbaden, the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz and the Deichtorhallen, Hamburg, places Bittl’s work in the context of the best representatives of painting as a leading discipline of art.
Viola Bittl is known for her insistent and multi-layered works that explore the boundaries of painting and create a dialogical space between form and abstraction. The exhibition “Return” presents a selection of her works since 2018, including her most recent series of “New York Paintings”, which were created during a studio scholarship in New York.

Worth a visit. A 100-year history of BMW. Built in 1973. Opening hours: Tuesday-Sunday 10:00-18:00. Chinese guided tours are free but must be requested. The museum is bowl-shaped, and the headquarters houses four cylindrical buildings resembling car cylinders.

1) Kinetic Sculpture: 714 steel balls mechanically manipulated to create a flowing art installation showcasing the essence of aerodynamics and car design.

2) Classic car tour, M series, concept cars.

3) BMW factory tour (book two weeks in advance, &euro;20). Go inside the BMW Munich assembly plant and witness the birth of 900 new cars daily.

4) Purchase metal water bottles and racing car models at the museum shop. Credit cards are accepted only.

Note: This is a bit far from the old town and hotels; taxis are expensive, around &euro;32 (approximately 270 RMB).

Price was reasonable, but really it had too many rooms to visit, lost patience at a point. Overall I find interesting when anything relates to Empress Sisi. Worth a visit if you&rsquo;re interested in Bavarian history.

Maria Square is the central square in Munich. In the middle of the square is the statue of the Virgin Mary, and in the north of the square is the Gothic-style town hall (Rathaus), which was built in 1867-1908. The shouts of the goals are very exciting. Munich is a football fan. The stadium is easy to find and can be reached directly by subway. It is very convenient to book with Ctrip. There will be a butler to contact on WeChat. The fan area is in a very good location. The stadium is still a bit cold in February. I must wear more clothes next time I go.
