Family Hotels in Perak, Malaysia

This was our second stay at Sunway Lost World Hotel, and it was a much better experience than our first. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a Classic Triple room, and having the night park passes included for both nights was a huge plus. However, there were a few areas that could be improved: Amenities: The room was clean and the linens were fresh. Unfortunately, we had no hot water in our room for both nights. Despite being told it just ”takes time” to warm up, it never did. Taking a cold shower at 11:00 PM after the night park was a major downside. Dining & Location: The hotel isn't very close to outside eateries. Room service ends around 10:00 PM, so if you return from the night park late, options are very limited. Since we visited during the Raya break, most nearby Muslim-owned shops were closed, requiring a drive to find food. Breakfast: Day one was enjoyable, but day two was a bit chaotic due to the surge of guests. Food wasn't refilled quickly enough and finding a table was a challenge and a lot of food were not refilled as it finished. Overall, a good stay for the park access, but the water temperature and breakfast logistics during peak periods need attention.

The exterior is pretty grand for first impression. Security Guard is super friendly and helpful. Do keep this up. We arrived after 10pm and we have to checked in with the help of a security guard as the receptionist closes at 10pm, but all good. Location wise, a drive/ grab is necessary for all foodies. The infinity pool was amazing, overlooking the polo ground. Suppose to have a cafe and kopitiam at the top floor, but since this condo project is still new, it is still not operating yet. Maybe my next visit. Interior of the room is spacious, there's NETFLIX, YOUTUBE and etc. Fridge, microwave and kitchen utilities, Hair dryer, iron. Floor not so clean though - rather dusty. we booked a unit with 2 rooms (1 room with 2 twin bed and 1 room with Q bed). No private bathroom in the bedroom though, only one bathroom. The Bathroom drain hole was clogged during our stay. Therefore, the draining was a bit slow, and it causes mini flood inside the bathroom. Things to improve (in my opinion, that is): 1. to add an extra latch at the entrance door for extra safety, I will not have a peaceful sleep if I am staying alone though. 2. Only have one bedside table. would be nice to have another bedside table so I don't have to place my things on the floor. 3. Dressing table inside the main room not to be placed facing the bed for feng shui purpose (just saying) Overall, I had a nice stay here and the bed is so comfortable. I had a good rest though.

Had a pleasant stay at Weil Hotel Ipoh with my family. The location was excellent and very convenient, especially for getting around and finding food nearby. The service was good overall, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room and hotel were generally clean, although there is still a little room for improvement in cleanliness. The amenities were good and made the stay comfortable. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would consider staying here again.

My recent trip to Ipoh included a stay at AC Hotel by Marriott Ipoh, and the overall experience was so satisfying that I just had to share it! ✅ Super Convenient Location Right in the heart of Ipoh, very close to the airport (seriously, it's close!). It's quick to get to Lost World, Old Town, and all the major food areas. There's also an AEON Mall nearby, perfect for late-night snacks and shopping. ✅ Comfortable and Clean Rooms The room size was decent, the bed was very comfortable, and you could choose your pillow (just call room service for different firmness options). The bathroom was clean, water pressure was good, and the overall design was simple yet tasteful. ✅ Attentive Service The front desk and staff were all very friendly, and check-in/out was efficient. I even checked in smoothly in the early morning, and they helped arrange a parking spot. ✅ Practical Facilities There's a gym, a swimming pool (not huge, but good enough for relaxing), and a lounge for a drink. The buffet breakfast offers a good selection, especially the Nasi Lemak and Kaya Toast – delicious! ✅ Great Value for Money For a Marriott brand hotel, the price is reasonable and often cheaper than comparable hotels in Kuala Lumpur. It's suitable for both business and family travel. 📌 A Small Tip The hotel doesn't have its own large parking lot, but there's a paid parking lot right next door (the hotel has a partnership, so remember to ask about discounts). Also, the soundproofing in the rooms is just average, so I'd recommend staying on a higher floor. 💬 Summary: Clean, convenient, great service, and fair prices – I'll definitely choose AC Hotel again on my next visit to Ipoh!

I had a wonderful stay at Stallionz by Mana-Mana last weekend and came away genuinely impressed. The property has a great balance of comfort and style, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind while still feeling thoughtfully designed. The room was clean, well-maintained, and nicely put together with modern touches. The bed was especially comfortable, which made a big difference after a long day out. I also appreciated the small details—everything felt intentional and guest-focused rather than generic. Service was another highlight. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and any questions I had were handled quickly and professionally. The location worked well too, offering a nice mix of convenience and a bit of escape from the busier areas. It felt like a good base to relax while still being within easy reach of nearby spots. Overall, Stallionz by Mana-Mana delivered a really pleasant experience. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a comfortable, stylish place with warm hospitality. I’d definitely consider staying here again.

I had a wonderful and peaceful stay at Tambun Retreat Ipoh. The place is very quiet, relaxing, and surrounded by beautiful nature, which makes it perfect for a short getaway away from the busy city. The room was clean, comfortable, and well prepared when we arrived. I really enjoyed the calm atmosphere and the greenery around the property. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a lovely and relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend Tambun Retreat to everyone.

First time try out. Lobby is nice and cosy except personally I don’t like the room. Soundproofing of the door is terrible and the theme colour of the room I don’t really like it. It doesn’t give out a very good vibes. Gym room located not a good location and it close super early around 8pm??? I didn’t took picture of the room cos I just want to faster get over for 1 night and check out. I won’t be back. P/s I read from review hair dryer is Dyson brand. It is not. Is just normal China brand. Quality is okay as most things are made in China.

Its a newly refurbished hotel. Within city center. Walking distance to all shops and eateries. Can even walk to taiping lake gardens. Room is very spacious. Big bathroom, water pressure nice. Rooftop swumming pool. Only setback is a bit noisy during nite time as hotel is next the main road. Did not try the food.

The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. Since it is a new building, some floors are still under renovation. This was my first experience having a blackout while showering at night. I tried to contact the agency, but there were no staff available, so the only solution offered was a room change. We had to spend extra time moving all our belongings to another floor. One suggestion is to consider waiving the deposit requirement, or for the agent to contact guests one day before check-in to reconfirm the booking and deposit payment. I had already submitted my deposit before check-in, but the agency may have missed my message. I only received the entry QR code after being stopped and questioned by the security guard, which made the experience stressful.

This is my second time staying at Hotel Excelsior with my family tand it didn’t disappoint. The Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We were fortunate this time to be allocated the newly renovated  triple room and it was nice and classy. There was some issue with the plumbing connected to the toilet bowl but a staff was sent over in less than half and hour to fix the issue. The hotel room was clean and one of the concierge staff named Hazz was extremely helpful and took his initiative to help google for information on places in Ipoh we asked him about. He also gave a number of good recommendations for alternative places to visit as well. Another thing I like about this hotel is, they usually have iced lemon tea at their lobby for guests to drink. This is a godsend when guests like me return to the hotel, given the sweltering heat in the afternoon. Nothing beats having a glass of iced lemon tea before heading up to your room. We will definitely return to Hotel Excelsior the next time we come to Ipoh.
