Wulingyuan/Forest Park
Have stayed here during our visit to Zhangjiajie mountains for 4 nights. It was chosen between several hotels in the area and the choice was absolutely right. We really enjoyed our stay in Harmona. The resort has a unique location in a forest between mountains, so u can feel all the beauty of nature. Also very welcoming stuff here who always try to make your stay more comfortable doesn’t matter that time is it. Especial thanks to Cherry, who assisted us all the time and to Nancy from the front desk and Huhuayong the driver. The position of the resort is perfect for visiting main attractions - forest park, canyon, dragon cave - just 10-15 minutes drive and give you all the opportunities of forest silence in the evening after busy day in the crowd. All amenities are good and usable - hot springs, restaurants, tea house etc. And landscape of resort is perfect. The view from the room in 8th floor is wonderful.

This Hampton by Hilton is the newer one in ZhangJiaJie, conveniently located in the WuLingYuan district, just 2 min car ride from the TianZhiShan entrance to the forest park. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked the double room with 1 kind bed and it was spacious, comfy and clean. We called reception to ask for more toilet roll and a cute robot came knock on our door and delivered them within 5 mins! The breakfast has a good variety of choices and I particularly loved their soy milk machine which serves nice hot soy milk with bran every morning. However, I was took by surprise that there is NO SAFE in the room to lock up personal belongings. As a Hilton brand, I certainly did not expect such a miss out. Overall, this hotel is a good choice for foreigners and family with kids.

I booked this hotel for my mom since my husband and I stayed there a few years ago and had an amazing experience. However, she said that no one would speak to her in any English (when we were there, everyone was very helpful and the manager was foreign). She also had a bad experience with a massage she booked. She thought she could charge it to the room, but the woman demanded cash, then once she paid, wouldn’t let her out of the room until she gave an extra tip. Apparently that was the only word she said in English the whole time. I’ve never been expected to tip in China, so this seems like they’re taking advantage of foreign guests who may not know better. The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of the national park, but the concierge tried to get her to take a taxi for way too much to a different gate. Luckily, she called me to ask if that was worth it and I told her, “no, don’t take a ¥50 taxi to another gate when you’re less than 1km from one of the main gates.” It just made her start to feel uncomfortable that everyone in the hotel was trying to trick her. It’s a shame because the hotel is lovely and the breakfast is actually quite good, which my mom said is still the case. But she had a very mixed experience where the hotel was great, but the staff didn’t make her feel well taken care of. Very different from my husband’s and my experience a few years ago.

Wulingyuan/Forest Park
Our trip to Zhangjiajie couldn’t have been better! This hotel is a few minutes walking distance away from a secondary (non crowded!) entrance to the National Park. The view from the pool is facing the National Park too, which couldn’t be more beautiful. Same goes for the surroundings as the area is super calm, you can relax indeed. The restaurant serves good typical food (we highly recommend the sea bass fish - both versions). The breakfast is acceptable with a mix of asian western (although mostly Asian you can find such things as yogurt, croissants, butter and bread). The hotel could be improved in minor details, which we passed on to the team. But these won’t make your experience bad in anyway. What made our stay one of the best in this big China trip was our hostess named Fan! <3 She was always available for us, did the impossible to find anything we needed and surprised us all the time. She carefully planned all our itineraries for all the attractions, never forgot a single request and spoke English better than anyone else in the Team. She was 6 out of 5*. ;) Don’t miss Jojo, the beautiful and cute cat belonging to the hotel. :) Our room also included a transfer which we used to the airport by the end of the stay, driving us in time to our flight. We hope to be back one day. :)

I stayed for 3 nights over Christmas at the W Hotel and it went above and beyond all expectations! From the sleek, modern design to the impeccably clean facilities. It felt very festive as windows and tables were adorned with delightful Christmas decorations, the highlight was the lovely pink tree on the first floor, it was super cute! The entire staff's commitment to ensuring my stay was exceptional deserves high praise. They catered to every need with a level of care and attentiveness that exceeded all expectations. Day 1: Lovely plate of fruit. Day 2: Cute knitted pouch with candy. Day 3: Xmas-plate of fruit and chocolate log. Plus a big shout out to Eric, who was super attentive and assisted in organising my Christmas Eve afternoon tea and the delicious 5-course Christmas Day meal. (It was pricey at 1288, but included the regular buffet, and a gorgeous red basket with gifts plus an oversized bag! So was worth it.) The bar/chill out area seems to be the hangout place. The energetic atmosphere on Christmas Eve was super cool. There was a runway showcasing several models and a cool DJ. It added an exciting vibe to the festivities, making the evening memorable. Furthermore, the huge swimming pool and changing room facilities felt luxurious, only thing missing was a jacuzzi, although sauna and steam room were great. Additional info: hotel is connected to the mall, line 2 metro is accessible via the mall which made is super convenient to travel around the city. Definitely recommend staying here! This W Hotel flawlessly combines luxury, sophistication, and a vibrant atmosphere, making it a standout hotel.

Zhangjiajie Downtown Area
The day before check-in, the hotel front desk communicated with us to understand the high-speed train number we would take to Zhangjiajie, and provided a pick-up service. The hotel's shoe-shining and laundry services are very nice. After going out every day, the hotel will help wipe off the dirt on the shoes, and can also wash and dry the clothes, which is really helpful for us who have a lot of transit during the trip. There is also sweet soup every night, and the front desk will ask about the type of breakfast for the next day every day. The set breakfast is much better than some star-rated hotels. The hotel also has a cute silver tabby cat, who eats and sleeps all the time, and has a very Buddhist temperament, so you can play with it as you like~

Furong Ancient Town
If you are visiting Furong Town, this is the best hotel to stay in. First up, the hotel provides free pickup service from the railway station. Communication with the hotel staff via WeChat is seamless. The hotel is within a 3mins walk to the attraction entrance. The room itself is spacious and clean as shown in the picture. Only issue we faced was the weird design of the toilet and shower cubicle. The shower cubicle is too small and has no space to hang towel or clothes without wetting them. Overall still the best place to stay in my opinion within Furong.

Wulingyuan/Forest Park
The hotel is close to the east gate of Wulingyuan and historic interest area. It’s very convenient to start your trip from here. It’s a 10min walk from the bus station that takes you to the Grand Canyon and zhangjiajie. The streets with the shops are 1-2km walking. They have many choices for breakfast. Different vegetables, noodles, bread, eggs, fruit etc. Even cornflakes and toast if you only like western food. They change it a bit everyday which is nice. The room was good and they cleaned it every day. Only underneath the bed it was dusty. The room had automatically opening curtains and airco. I would recommend this hotel. The staff does not speak English so if you don’t speak a little Chinese it might be a little inconvenient.

Wu Yi Square/IFS/Changsha Station
A luxury hotel in a great location, you can have a river view. The service is top. Breakfast is good they also have local foods. You have many choices. The only negative point that I can say is the amenities in the toilet are too simple for a luxury hotel.

Wu Yi Square/IFS/Changsha Station
The room is much larger than the promotional picture! Especially the bathroom! This is the real 45 square meters! This time I upgraded to the extraordinary and distinguished room, with a super good view and a view of the Xiangjiang River. The breakfast variety is not the most abundant, but everything is delicious. The freshly made muffins, egg rolls, and Benedict eggs are impressive, and the smoked salmon is delicious. Praise the breakfast rice noodles, you can choose your own ingredients and add them, which is super delicious! This time I experienced the swimming pool and the warm water pool, which are good, and I took a glance at the gym. It’s also very good. As a high-altitude hotel, you have to change the elevator once when you go back to the room or go out, but this actually shortens the waiting time overall, and the high-speed elevator itself is very fast. Facilities: The room is great, with a semi-intelligent toilet and electric bed curtains, which can be completely blacked out. The bathtub is very large and it is very comfortable to take a bath. The desk is very convenient for working and dining, I like it. In addition, the Samsung smart TV in the room supports mobile phone screen projection, which beats most hotels of the same level. The surround sound effect is very good. Hygiene: Clean and the toiletries are very useful. Environment: The hotel environment is good and very quiet. The location is quite convenient, and there is Yuanyang Coffee downstairs. Service: From the front desk to the restaurant to the cleaning service, they are all very good, and they will greet you. They will show you to your seat for breakfast and ask about your drink needs. The room service phone sometimes doesn't work, but it works after calling a few times.
