Great location, excellent environment, facilities, and service. It's really convenient for getting around. You can even visit Chunyang Palace for free just by showing your hotel room key! Plus, the price was right. Next time I'm in Taiyuan, I'll definitely choose Shanxi Grand Hotel again!

This was my second stay at Jianguo Hotel Yungang, and it was quite satisfying. The front desk saw my room preferences (non-smoking, quiet) and provided a room that met my expectations, which was great! The breakfast selection was as plentiful as ever. This time, there were a lot of guests, so they opened up several additional dining areas. Even with more people getting food, the supply was very timely. The late-night congee service was also a thoughtful touch; Xiao Zhang and Xiao Hu, who were in charge, were diligent and quick, refilling items promptly. When they had a free moment, they even chatted with guests, which felt very warm and welcoming.
On the last day, before checking out, I noticed they were paving asphalt and filling potholes outside the entrance. This was tough for the several couples getting married that day – it was hard for cars to get in, and the newlyweds had to get out of their cars and enter the hotel while enduring the black smoke from the asphalt. I hope the hotel can consider local customs and feelings, and schedule such construction for a different time.
Before I left, I noticed a super-sized croissant on the in-room dining menu, which piqued my interest. It looked like sliced hua mo (steamed flower bun). I'll have to see the real thing next time, haha!

2026, Taiyuan, here I come! Checking in to a landmark hotel in Taiyuan, with German quality you can always trust. High-floor scenic room, 55 square meters, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views. Right next to Tianmei Xintiandi, a one-stop shop for dining, entertainment, and shopping – incredibly convenient! Even better with my Trip.com membership.

Overall, it was a great stay. The hotel has a beautiful environment, and the rooms are quite spacious and well-equipped, and very clean. It's very convenient to drive to Mount Wutai from here. They even have an NIO charging station on-site (though the electricity fee is a bit pricey). The staff were attentive and polite, so a full five stars there. The only minor drawback is the gym; it's a bit sparse. There aren't any machines for back and core workouts, though they do have a good set of dumbbells.

This was my second stay, and once again, the room was spotless and tidy. The service was excellent, the location was convenient, and it offered great value for money. My stay was fantastic, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time. A big thank you to the front desk and restaurant staff, who were all incredibly warm and attentive!

Before booking, I was most concerned about the air conditioning, and I finally got to experience it firsthand. Datong's heating supply runs until April 15th, a full month later than Tianjin. During the heating period, the hotel's air conditioning only provides heat, not cool air. So, contrary to what many online reviews suggested, I couldn't use the AC to cool the room and had to rely on opening the windows to alleviate the heat. However, I couldn't keep the windows open while sleeping, which left me feeling very dry and uncomfortable when I woke up.
The first night of my stay was the second day of the Qingming holiday. When I showered that evening, the water pressure from the showerhead was pitifully low, so I had to make do with the handheld spray. Thankfully, the bathtub's water temperature was reliable. By the second night, with a drop in occupancy, both the breakfast service and the shower pressure were much better.
The swimming pool is open from 6 AM to 9 PM. I feel it opens too early and closes too early. Wouldn't 8 AM to 11 PM be better?
The hotel lobby is very spacious. Since Fenlin Pavilion is located in the Wyndham lobby, the Yungang side actually feels more upscale and grand.
Fenlin Pavilion stops issuing numbers before 7:30 PM and closes at 9 PM. For lunch, they're open until 2 PM. Commercial facilities in Datong really aren't that competitive.
There's no sliding door between the room's bathtub and the bed, so privacy is nonexistent.
The omnipresent crystal chandeliers and mirrors give off a somewhat 'Middle Eastern prince' vibe.
The sensor-activated nightlights near the floor get a hundred stars – they're incredibly convenient for midnight bathroom trips.
Even a coffee machine and a refrigerator are provided.
The breakfast's 'dao xiao mian' (knife-cut noodles) are a specialty, and the coffee is good. However, the dessert selection is meager, with only one or two options.
The newly opened hotel is at the south gate of the Qimenguan Scenic Area. The magnificent city building is in the city building, quiet and comfortable. The three families live together. The living room and terrace are big enough. Children play in the pool and adults chat while drinking tea. It is suitable for holiday travel. You can also climb the city tower to look at it, a great experience. Warm service, shuttle bus transfer. It is worth brushing again.
This hotel is almost next to the airport terminal, super convenient for early morning flight. It is clean and service is excellent. Manager on duty - Han, Yueliu helped arrange a room in the main buidling, which is what I preferred. Everything went well. Will stay here again next time when I come back.

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The staff members were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was also very good! Our room was comfy and spacious, the only problem we had with it was that it felt too hot for us even with the aircon/heating off and right before we left we could feel some bad smell coming from the pipes. We didn't report this as we were leaving but we're sure the hotel would have helped and sorted this for us (they offered changing our room when we said it was too hot for us, for example). The location of the hotel was very useful to explore the ancient city and the hotel helped us book a private car to see the grottoes and hanging temple - great experience!
We'd consider staying here again if/when we visit Dating again. :)

JJiebudiaodejimoThe location is great, nestled between Yingxun Gate (South Gate) and Shangxi Gate, making it convenient for sightseeing yet surprisingly quiet. The facilities are good, but what really impressed me was picture #2 [assuming this refers to a specific feature/amenity shown in a picture]. I hope they can plug in the outlets before guests check in. The buckwheat pillow was very comfortable! The service was excellent; they communicated in advance about pickup/drop-off and even offered to drive me to attractions. Breakfast was abundant, featuring local specialties like Pingyao beef. It was well-balanced and tasty. The menu changed over the two days, though for me, there was a bit too much meat. If a full buffet isn't feasible, perhaps offering an à la carte menu where guests can choose their items would help reduce waste. And the cats at the hotel are adorable!

MM33369****Look at the ancient construction and national treasure to Taiyuan 3 times. The hotel that was rested this time is intercity in the South Central, good location! It is very close to the South Station, the airport and the subway entrance, and it is convenient to travel. The room is spacious and soundproof. There are many varieties of minibars. Although I enjoyed Bama mineral water, I felt the sincerity of the hotel. Featured care products are five-star level. The breakfast was rich. When I went at 9 o'clock, there were many varieties. My husband drank the love soup in his dream: sheep soup, soft mutton in the soup, and fans. Remember to add more white pepper, a little pepper, with fried dough sticks and twists. It is really delicious. The red velvet cake is also delicious, not sweet and a bit salty, recommended! The front desk was very good at communicating, helping to solve the room type adjustment and postpone the check-out until 2 pm. The only downside is dry and hot. Two people drank 8 bottles of Nongfu Spring, and their throat was still dry. It is recommended to add a humidifier.
Dd 123Although it is an old hotel, the service attitude is still very comfortable. Ms. Cairong at the front desk helped me deliver my luggage to the room.
The dining environment is very clean and hygienic, and the dishes are plentiful... The waiter Guo Defeng has been warmly asking what to drink, and he also helped to bring fruits. The chef Han Maorong is also a super funny girl, telling me that there are freshly cooked noodles, wontons, fried eggs, etc. , The variety is quite complete~ The hotel as a whole makes me feel very comfortable and awesome!

GGuest UserI've wanted to stay here for a long time, and this family trip finally made that dream come true. The check-in experience was excellent, and the facilities showed incredible attention to detail. The complimentary toiletries pack even included electric toothbrushes and Gillette razors, and all the snacks provided were from Sam's Club. Breakfast was exceptional – an à la carte style where they'd prepare whatever you ordered. Everything tasted fantastic, and there were plenty of choices. Enjoying delicious pastries in the courtyard under the sun was a truly wonderful experience!
In the evening, friends came over, and we sat on the courtyard sofa, chatted, drank tea, and watched the clouds in the night sky. We even caught a drone show from Dai Wang Mansion, which was truly delightful! We also toured the owner's private museum and wine cellar. It certainly lives up to its reputation as a courtyard built with 200 million yuan; the main gate in the middle is 200 years old. Every detail exudes taste and grandeur!
The service was excellent too. Although there weren't many staff members, they were very responsive. When my shoes got wet in the heavy rain, they even brought a hairdryer to dry them for me – I was truly grateful! In short, the value for money at this price is unbeatable! Five-star recommendation! 👍👍👍👍👍
Overall, a fantastic stay, but I do have a few suggestions to offer:
1. Only the door could be opened for ventilation in the room; the windows didn't open. It would be great if there was a way to allow for cross-ventilation.
2. The hotel doesn't provide parking vouchers. While overnight parking was only 20 yuan, offering vouchers would enhance the guest experience.
3. Perhaps due to concerns about some guests occupying a room with too many people, I was repeatedly asked during check-in how many individuals were staying in our room, which I found a bit off-putting.

TTracie WestMy stay at Wutong Apartments was wonderful! The room was clean, spacious, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. There is bathtub is luxurious and spacious, the shower has great pressure and the the separate toilet room has a motion censored toilet seat and a bidet. The bed was comfy and the closet space begs you to unpack your suitcase. There were thoughtful amenities, including a loofah cloth and shoe shine cloths. Now...the breakfast. It was the best breakfast buffet I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Tinder and well seasoned steak, salmon, soups, desserts, breads, scrumptious pancakes and a salad bar that even included kale amongst the varied greens. Best of all, the service was exceptional. A special thank you to Li Ne, the dining staff and the housekeeper who attended to my room. I wish that every hotel stay I experience in the future is as amazing as my time at Wutong Apartment Hotel.
