SeWeI had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Grand Hills Shizuoka and would definitely consider staying again when visiting the area.
The biggest advantage of this hotel is the location. It is directly next to JR Shizuoka Station, which makes it extremely convenient for both arriving and exploring the city. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby, so everything you need is within walking distance.
The hotel room itself feels a bit dated, but clean, and well maintained. My room was spacious and comfortable, especially compared to many other business hotels in Japan. The view from the higher floors was also very nice, particularly in the evening.
The staff were professional, polite, and efficient throughout the stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt calm and relaxing.
Breakfast offered a good variety of Japanese and Western dishes, and the quality was satisfying overall. The dining area was comfortable and not overly crowded during my visit.
Overall, Hotel Grand Hills Shizuoka offers an excellent balance of comfort, convenience, and service. It is a great choice for both business and leisure travelers visiting Shizuoka.

erinsisiMy stay at Izu Shuzenji Marriott exceeded all expectations! Japanese hotels are generally quite compact, but this one was exceptionally spacious. Both twin beds were 1.5 meters wide, and there was a sofa, providing ample space to move around. The room even came with a private onsen bath, which was incredibly healing. Perched on a mountaintop, the hotel offered expansive views, though it was cloudy during my visit, so I missed seeing Mount Fuji. The restaurant's window seats had an amazing ambiance. Both the food and the environment were excellent, and the service was attentive. This is definitely my top choice for a hot spring getaway in Izu. Highly recommended!

Guest UserI would hesitate booking this hotel if you are looking for a “wow” experience. We had some issues due to bad weather and some due to service.
We booked a room that ideally should have had views of Mount Fuji. Due to the fog, we saw nothing for our 1 night stay outside of the clouds. This is no fault of the hotel but worth factoring into expectations.
We also had some service shortfalls. No one in advance communicated that we needed to select a time for the included dinner or pick the cuisine we wanted. As a result, we got stuck with what was available. We also were not informed that there was a shuttle to a nearby train station (the hotel made up for this by driving us to the station, but the only reason we knew was another guest mentioned it). Lastly, we selected a meal option but were not told the supplement in advance so had a 24,000 yen surprise on our bill. Had this all been communicated in advance, we would have felt better about our stay. At breakfast, we waited over 20 minutes for coffee and had to ask 3 times before it was eventually served.
On the plus side, the hard product is strong and our Kappo dinner was delicious.
While this wasn’t a “bad stay” - I struggle to see how this hotel landed as a 3 Michelin Star rating and can charge the prices that are charged given some of the issues we faced.

Guest UserThis hotel is rather new. Only a 5 minutes drive to Gotemba premium outlet. Free parking at hotel. Spacious modern room with lovely Mt Fuji view. Breakfast is ala carte and limited variety. But yummy still. 7/eleven is a 5 minutes walk away. We stayed for 4 nights. and on the second night had a 5.6 earthquake experience. Building shook and everyone is safe. Thank God. Another good thing is there is a washing machine with dryer. Will come back and stay if I and back to Gotemba. The last trip we stayed at Clad hotel which is nice and very convenient as it's just at the premium outlet. If you drive I will recommend to stay at Edit X seven instead.

Narima MWe really enjoyed our stay here! While the hotel is a little out of the way, it was the perfect choice for us as it's conveniently located near the speedway, which was the main reason for our visit. If you're driving, the free parking is a huge plus, and there's also a shuttle service if you don't have a car.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with thoughtful amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we slept very well. Very good gym which we utilised After a relaxing soak in the onsen, enjoying the complimentary milk was such a nice touch and something we looked forward to.
We added breakfast to our stay, and it was definitely worth it. There was a wide variety of delicious Japanese and Western options, with plenty to choose from each morning.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay with excellent facilities and friendly staff. We'd definitely stay here again, especially if we're visiting the speedway.

Aksi KoMy brother and I stayed at Hotel Associa Shizuoka during our trip, and it was absolutely fantastic. The location couldn't be better – it's directly connected to JR Shizuoka Station, which made traveling around the region so easy and convenient.
The view was absolutely breathtaking! Our room was on one of the upper floors, and we had a stunning panoramic view of Mount Fuji right from our window. Waking up to that sight every morning was unforgettable. The city views at night were equally beautiful.
The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The beds were great, and we slept really well. The bathroom was also well-equipped and modern.
The breakfast was excellent – a wonderful buffet with both Japanese and Western options, all fresh and delicious. It was the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploring.
The staff were professional, polite, and always ready to help with a smile. They made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.
Overall, Hotel Associa Shizuoka offered us amazing value, incredible views, and top-notch service. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shizuoka!

Jess0901Excellent Stay at Hotel Mars Garden Wood Gotemba
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Mars Garden Wood Gotemba. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well-maintained. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed and offered a relaxing outdoor onsen after a long day of sightseeing.
The location is convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and shopping areas. The hotel facilities, including the onsen, were excellent and provided a perfect way to unwind.
Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had in Japan. We highly recommend Hotel Mars Garden Wood Gotemba and would definitely stay here again on our next visit.
Note to forget, view of Mount Fuji from the hotel made our stay even more memorable.

Overall, I'll still give it five stars. Not many Chinese people come to this area, as it's better to drive yourself. Coming by train is quite troublesome, as you'd have to call the hotel shuttle to pick you up, and wait for a long time.
Alright, this hotel is still worth experiencing, and I'll elaborate further.
The hotel has an entrance on the seaside road, where you can take an unmanned inclined elevator up to the 6th-floor lobby. I think this inclined elevator is the hotel's biggest unique feature.
Once you reach the 6th floor, you can check in. There are several self-check-in machines, and they support Chinese, which is very convenient. The entire hotel is divided into three buildings (though it should really be two). As long as you can figure out the elevators, you're all set. Take the elevator from check-in down to the third floor to find the Salone, which offers free beer, sodas (over a dozen types), a fully automatic coffee machine, ice cream, and cookies – all complimentary. Just be mindful of the time slots. The fourth floor has the hot springs, and the fifth floor has the restaurant. It's best to book the restaurant in advance; I couldn't get a reservation during my entire stay. There are also many smoking rooms, almost on every floor.
The room isn't big, but it's very thoughtfully designed. It comes with a prepared hot spring basket. There are slippers, four tissue boxes, and the fridge has two bottles of orange juice and mineral water, all free. The cleanliness of the room deserves the highest rating; even the glass overlooking the sea was spotless. Gazing at that sea, it's easy to get lost in past memories...
Wiping away the tears, let's continue. The Atami hot springs have a slight hint of seaweed and the water is salty (yes, I tasted it). There are four private single rooms; no reservation is needed, you can just go in if they're empty. The co-ed hot spring requires a reservation, but the others don't, and they operate almost 24 hours a day. I always went for a soak around 2 AM, and there was no one else there, avoiding any awkwardness.
It's very convenient to get around from here. Opposite the inclined elevator on the first floor is a Lawson convenience store, and beyond Lawson, towards the sea, is the beach. From the 6th-floor front desk, there's an uphill slope, followed by two sets of stairs, leading to a food street. At the end of the food street are Atami Station and the largest supermarket in the area. However, it closes at 7 PM... and my daughter doesn't get out of school until 7 PM. The fourth floor is worth visiting for a drink; you can see the entire city and the sea from there. There are many restaurants nearby, and popular ones always have queues during meal times.
Finally, a complaint: the hotel's parking lot is hard to find. It's up a small road off the main street. And it's a multi-story car park, so 9-11 AM is peak time for picking up cars, and it takes at least half an hour. I later parked in the car park next to Lawson; it was double the price of the hotel parking but much more convenient.

Guest UserThe room was really spacious and deep, which made for some truly elegant photos. Overall, this is probably one of the most upscale hotels in Atami. While there's no free shuttle to Atami Station, there's a bus stop right outside, and the front desk can also help arrange a taxi. There was a Chinese-speaking woman with shoulder-length hair and glasses, who was incredibly polite and had excellent service sense. The hotel facilities are also great; the public onsen is definitely worth trying – it's very clean and even has free drinks. Breakfast was good too; not a huge variety, but the quality was decent. The only reason I didn't give a perfect score is that the hotel's Wi-Fi signal for laptops was really poor, making it impossible to work. After I reported it to the hotel, they couldn't offer any solution other than moving rooms, but they didn't have another vacant room of the same type, so that didn't work out. All in all, the hotel itself is excellent and definitely among the top-tier in Atami for quality.
