Staying at Queens Hotel felt like stepping into a gentler era. Its colonial charm sits proudly at the edge of Kandy Lake, with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth just a short stroll away. The staff’s warmth made the experience feel personal, and the buffet lunch was a highlight in itself. I left with a smile and every intention of returning.

We loved this hotel to the point we would return to Kandy to stay here again! The staff were all friendly, helpful and professional, the hotel and rooms were all clean and well maintained and the food at both dinner and breakfast was delicous. Overall we loved out stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. *we also bought some jewelry from the shop in the hotel which was good too.

This hotel is lovely and modern. We only stayed for one night but the experience was very pleasant. The room was clean and modern. The pool was great, it was warm and they also had a well equipped gym. The breakfast buffet was also very good! They had a variety of dishes and staff were attentive!

Hotel was prepared and ready for my arrival. Had issues with connection to wifi so had to contact the reception. No hairdryer in room and had to request this even though it should’ve been there already. Ordered room service, it came cold and items forgotten from order even though order was repeated back to me on the phone. Breakfast was average for a Radisson. Seating options strange with big long tables reserved for groups rather than small families, couples and singles. Tuktuk touts waiting outside hotel to pester you for your destination. It was clean for the most part and well needed after a long day of travel but I wouldn’t return. Not sure how this hotel is #1 in Kandy but I was left feeling disappointed.

The passion fruit, lemon and mint ice cream that came instead of a welcome drink was absolutely delicious! It was a homemade ice cream on a stick, and it was probably the best thing I ate in Sri Lanka! The interior of the hotel was very tasteful and had a great atmosphere.

Absolutely stunning, giant compound with an extensive history! They even offer a history walking tour but unfortunately there weren’t enough people signed up to make the tour happen. If you’re looking for a “colonial” stay, this is a great place. I recommend just walking around to see it for yourself. It’s also right on Kandy Lake, so it’s a nice walk (and not too far from the Kandyan Culture Center and the Sacred Tooth Temple Meals were good, but service sometimes is a little messy. Buffet was missing things like tongs or a cloth over the tray handles (which were hot to touch), but there’s a lot of servers walking around so I’m sure they’ll be able to do double-checks on this

The location of the hotel is relatively remote, but it feels like a manor inside. The guest room is similar to a single-story villa with a large bed and a small bed, and can accommodate three adults. The room hygiene is good, but the floor drain next to the toilet tends to accumulate water. The mattress of the large bed is moderately soft and hard, and the floor-to-ceiling doors and windows face the garden, giving you a first-class view. Although no monkeys were seen knocking on the door, various warblers and birds were constantly chirping, and the ecological and natural environment was well protected. The breakfast was rich in variety, not just curry food, but also a lot of bacon and oatmeal, as well as watermelon, papaya and other tropical items. fruit. A satisfactory stay

The room looked clean and big, but it smelled very bad, and the air conditioner was very powerful! The buffet at our own expense was really great, and the price was not expensive. The food was better than in China!

This mountain hotel was the priciest of our entire trip, with a single room costing almost 5,000. It's nestled in the mountains, so getting there was a bit of a trek. I was hoping to spot some monkeys, but we didn't see any this time. The hotel's service and dining, however, were absolutely impeccable, truly top-notch. The ingredients and presentation were meticulously handled. The overall design also showcases a strong concept, built into the mountainside, creating a unique mountain resort atmosphere. That said, the room facilities were noticeably dated, with a distinct 80s or 90s feel. While some might appreciate this retro vibe, I personally prefer a more updated and modern hotel experience. Overall, it definitely has a strong design aesthetic and a unique ambiance. However, in terms of overall comfort and experience, it falls a bit short compared to the Lighthouse Hotel by the same designer. Especially considering the challenging journey up the mountain and the price, the final experience didn't quite meet my initial expectations.

DDhanushka WanasingheI recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful location and I must say, it was a nice place with outstanding scenery. If you enjoy a mountainous vibe, this is definitely one of the best spots to visit. The food was quite good, and the garden was absolutely beautiful. I especially appreciated Mr. Yoga, who guided us through the gardens and provided excellent support. One thing to keep in mind is that there are no elevators (only stairs). We stayed on the third floor and while the view was lovely, we did encounter some mosquitoes inside the room.

MMtngSeerock The King’s Domain offers an impressive stay with super spacious rooms, a beautiful outdoor environment, and excellent service. The only downside—though not the hotel’s fault—is the occasional wild peacock screaming at night, which might disrupt light sleepers. Otherwise, a fantastic getaway for nature lovers.

GGuest UserRoom is spacious, have all amenities and toiletries (just missing the slippers). It have heater instead of air conditioner as there is mostly cold here. Centralized control system is a plus. Washroom is comparatively much smaller and just the basic size. Cons: The main thing was the management which was poor and mostly looked after only locals as we came to know by our driver. At check in the room key didn't worked 3 time and they have to call some technical guy to resolve the issue which was actually the issue in room door, still they gave us the same room. When we go to food court for breakfast in morning, it was only 4 set items only which also they decide they want to give or not. For every request it was a no even when we are willing to pay extra for the same. For the meal we had we asked extra sambhar they deny they can't give. We asked for sandwich or any breads which was also unavailable. But after sometime, they give sandwich to some other persons. When we confronted them, they told it is in different meal, we asked to give only sandwich they outright denied, when we said give meal they say come after 11. After complaining and telling at the reception his response was mostly defending and at last only told you can discuss with senior manager. It was our time to leave the city as per our itinerary so we left the place as it is.

GGuest UserHotels in Sri Lanka generally have low value for money, and most of the well-known heritage hotels have outdated facilities. In comparison, Golden Crown is a relatively new hotel with fairly complete facilities. The location is good and the lobby decoration is very unique. It happened to be Valentine's Day when we checked in, and red balloons were placed on the bed, which was very warm.

GGuest UserIt was our best decision to stay in this hotel one of the best of our two weeks trip around Sri Lanka. The nature around the swimming pool view is insane. Nice houses and the most surprising perfect dinner buffet just for 15$. Breakfast was good as well. Spa is good too but they not inform the oil is quite aggressive paint so it made my white skirt and shirt yellow (still can’t wash)

GGuest UserI would like to report an incident that happened in the restaurant. A large and arrogant staff member refused to let me sit at a larger table, saying it was reserved for four people. After our conversation, he deliberately placed a “Reserved” sign on the table. Since no guests arrived, I later asked him again and he said the four guests would come at 21:30. However, the restaurant closes at 22:00, so this explanation did not make sense. In fact, no guests ever arrived. When I asked other staff members for his name, they told me it was Sammy. I was very disappointed by this dishonest behavior. The front desk staff at this hotel are excellent, so it is unfortunate that this experience in the restaurant left such a negative impression. I visited this hotel as part of a preliminary inspection for a group tour. However, since there is a staff member who would casually lie to guests, I cannot guide my group to a hotel with such dishonest service. Therefore, I have decided not to include this hotel in our tour plans.
