5-Star Hotels in Central Visayas, Philippines

Great hotel right on Alona beach, far enough away from the noise but close enough to walk to the restaurants and bars. Stayed in a beach view room, was large and clean with the best beach view of any hotel I’ve stayed in. The sky infinity pool felt like the pool joined to the ocean. Also one of the best rooftop pools of any hotel I’ve stayed in and with the attached pool bar a great place to enjoy a cocktail or beer in the pool while watching the sunset. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Only areas of note that could be improved, the bath towels were of lower quality than I would have expected in a hotel of this level and the coffee at breakfast was terrible, luckily the room had a Nespresso machine.

The hotel is very new, you can tell it was recently built. The lobby and interiors aren't luxurious but have a simpler, more minimalist style. The room was a bit small, and while it wasn't a poolside lake view room, it was very close to the pool. The kids' pool has a slide, which the children loved. The main pool has a unique and fun design too. As for food, we only tried UMA; the restaurant next door was a buffet, not suitable for kids. UMA had limited choices, but the food was decent, especially the breakfast, which was very rich and a must-add. The beach here is average; its advantage is that it's uncrowded, only accessible to hotel guests. The downside is the coarse sand and lots of seaweed along the shore, making it hard to even use sand-digging tools. Finally, regarding the sea just outside the hotel, there's too much seaweed, and the shallow water is very murky. While snorkeling, we only saw starfish and sea urchins, not a single fish. You had to go quite a distance to see a few scattered small fish, which was a bit disappointing compared to our expectation of a 'shallow-sea aquarium.' In summary, this hotel is definitely a safe bet, being very new, and perfect for couples and families. The staff are incredibly friendly; it truly feels like a home away from home. The hotel itself is very photogenic; you can get great shots from any angle. I would recommend it to friends!

The location near Alona Beach is very convenient. The breakfast isn't amazing, but after diving, you know, you work up quite an appetite, so the Korean-leaning breakfast with limited options was perfectly fine! The hotel facilities are a bit older compared to newly opened hotels in my home country, and the soundproofing is a minor issue. However, our whole family was quite satisfied, and the front desk thoughtfully moved us to a better-located room. Thumbs up!

Lovely stay! Beautiful hotel, with fabulous pools and direct access to a pristine beach with stunning sunsets. Service was also really good. Tons of restaurants to eat within walking distance. Top class place! My only suggestion is to install coffee machines for breakfast - espressos and cappuccinos are not complimentary, only brewed black coffee is served.

Great location right on the beach with really nice sand and with lovely staff too.  However, the bed was really uncomfortable and am on pain killers as a result!… not acceptable for a £600 room. The food wasn’t exactly great either, though this is to be expected outside of major cities.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend! A special thank you to Arvy at the front desk. She understood that we have an autistic child and helped arrange a higher-floor room so we could watch the Sinulog fireworks comfortably. Because of her help, we were able to enjoy an amazing view that made our experience truly memorable. Nustar is definitely one of the best places to stay in Cebu, with excellent front desk service.

I had a fantastic time staying at The Reef Resort! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean and the resort have enough activities to keep you busy. I would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends. The breakfast buffet every morning was good with assorted choices. You can snorkel infront of the resort with so many different kind of fish, I was amazed! The resort even packed me a breakfast box when I had to leave early in the mornings for activities. They also have a great SPA with great treatments! A well equipped gym overlooking the ocean. Thank you for making my stay unforgettable!

This hotel is very convenient, located only about 20 minutes from the airport, which makes it perfect before a flight. It is a large property, yet it remains surprisingly peaceful. The staff are truly lovely and welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable and well-equipped with everything you might need. The food is excellent, especially the breakfast, which offers a great selection. We spent a fun evening at the Sports Bar — my children really enjoyed all the activities available. The only downside, in my opinion, was that the prices there were quite high. Aside from that, the view from the pool is stunning, and there is a pleasant small beach to enjoy. We had a wonderful stay before catching our flight.

Hrmmm this one is a tricky one as we had a few unexplained situations. Firstly, the hotel itself was previously a Marriot 5-Star back in the day prior to be taken over in 2018 by the Seda Group. Secondly, there is so much ongoing renovation and construction that you need to be aware of; Noise coming from New Construction, the in hotel pool is unavailable from Feb-2025 and guests must walk across the street to another organisation's pool. Unfortunately this was a deal breaker for us. The food was average with cheaper and better tasting food located just minutes away by walking through the carpark. Overall the guest lounge (located on level 12) is a bonus but is super budget, not 4-Star Material. P.S. There is no rooftop bar, only a lounge overlooking a construction site. P.S.S The House of Lechon is 5 mins by Grab which is a plus.
