The Santa Holidays Village hotel is great for families. Be careful with the reservations you make on Trip, we reserved a chalet for 2 adults and 2 children, arriving for check-in we were told that Trip only reserved for two adults and therefore the children must be paid extra. It is not serious for TRIP not to communicate the true price upon reservation. This site lacks transparency (it just notes a remark saying that additional fees may be charged by the hotel for children without telling you how much and especially without telling you that they have only booked for two people). So the worst thing is to have a room that is not even suitable for a family. At Santa Claus we had to pay 30€/night per child (fortunately we had booked a chalet so it was big enough for 4). We had the same experience in another hotel over the same period (apukka resort) which charged us €100 per night per child in an igloo, fortunately the igloo allocated to us could accommodate 2 children otherwise we would have been without the possibility of accommodating 4 of us.

I used it as a couple in December 2022. It is located about 5 minutes on foot from the k supermarket in the city center, and is in the opposite direction from the area where restaurants are gathered. Although it was the winter season, the sidewalks were cleanly cleared of snow, and after getting off the bus in front of the supermarket, you could walk to the hotel while rolling your carry-on bag. Not far enough to take a taxi. There are many houses around and it is quiet. I didn't use it, but there seems to be a sauna. Breakfast was delicious. It was a general menu such as bread, ham, cheese, salad, yogurt. The room was clean, but there was no safe. There is no partition between the shower and the toilet in the bathroom, so the toilet gets soaked when you take a shower. Overall, it is a recommended hotel.

The room offered sufficient space, the bathroom was clean and looked new. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a large variety of food and drinks. The sauna is also very recommandable. The location is central. There is a shopping mall just across the street, local and long distance bus stops are nearby. Personnel was very friendly and supportive.

Staffs are kind and good at English so I didn't have any difficulty of communication. I recommend to buy a spa included ticket and enjoy the Finnish sauna. For the foods, you have to pay for the dinner buffet but the quality is really good. It was worth every penny. There was nothing inconvenient at all. If I had to pick one, there were no amenities in the bathroom only except soap.

We stayed at Arctic City Hotel on mid-March for 3 nights. Our room was a style double room on the 3rd floor with street view. The hotel's location, at the very center of Rovaniemi, is undoubtedly great. Everything one might need was in walking distance. All tour operators, shopping centers, restaurants, cafe, supermarkets and bus stations (including the bus station for Santa's Village) were literally on your doorstep. Even the central railway station, the interurban bus station and the Arcticum were just 10min away on foot even with snow. You could even walk to the observation tower of the Ounasvaara Fell, following a great path through the snowy forest (aprox. 30 min). The room was clean and warm, not too large but comfortable for a couple, with a quite comfortable bed and an interesting deco. However, the bathroom was not spacious and the shower tube was tiny. Moreover, the shower glass panels should be replaced or better set-up since the floor got soaking wet when we had a shower. The breakfast was very tasty, with plenty of food and very well served in the hotel's quite cozy restaurant. The staff was super friendly and super helpful, both in the reception and the restaurant! To sum up, the owners of this hotel should consider some refurbishment of the rooms and definitely the bathrooms, in order to meet one's expectations from a 4-star hotel and for a better value-for-money rate. Its great pros are the location, the staff and the breakfast. Despite the small bathroom, we really enjoyed our stay there and we would visit this hotel again.

We booked on booking.com, but when we arrived to check in we were told our room had been double booked and we were being downgraded. We had originally booked the room with private sauna, so were very disappointed that we did not have this facility, particularly as the communal sauna is only open for around 3 hours per day and we had an activity booked the same time so could not use it at all. The location is stunning and we had fun walking the various trails from the hotel. We had two activities booked which both collected from the hotel, but otherwise we had to get taxis to and from the town centre as there is no public transport to the hotel. Taxis cost around €20 each way, and reception can book them for you. Room was nice, but the light switches were quite difficult to use. We were also a bit cold and could not see a way to up the temperature. The bath was lovely, and came with bubble bath, robes and slippers which we made use of. Our view was of a car park, so that was not great. Breakfast was amazing, lovely views and they even had honey on the comb. You have to book the restaurant in advance, or make alternative plans (but keep in mind there are not really any other options around the hotel). Staff were friendly.

We were allowed to check in over 2 h early after a very stressfull flight and check out a hour late without additional charge. The room was comfy and big with a great view. Breakfast could be better but the dinner was always great.

We booked this penthouse to have a nice weekend and enjoy beautiful view from the balcony. We carefully selected a very nice stay among all possible stays in Swedish Lapland and Finnish Lapland region reading all reviews and making a long research for a high-quality leisure stay. Instead we were forced to listen to around 9 hours of very loud unbearable rock through the whole evening. From 15:30-01 :00 90DB noise for 9 hours (harmful for health) 90 decibels is a high noise level, equivalent to the noise generated by a leaf blower or the sound level of a concert. Compared to 80 dB, 90 dB is 10 times more intense and twice as loud. Whenever you are exposed to this noise level, you should wear hearing protection. One could hear music even in the sauna. After two hours of nonstop noise and starting headache I contacted the host about full refund I got an answer that there is a festival just outside the building. Here is what I got as a reply: ”Is the music coming from outside? There is Santa open air music festival in the park by the riverside going thru the weekend.” Since host did not solve the problem I had to call to San Francisco USA airbnb support to solve the problem. Next reply from host was not apology and problem solving too. It was: ”This is a public outdoor event which have been promoted by the city of Rovaniemi. So it’s a well-known event, which attracts a lot of attention and visitors. We don’t ask our guests why they come to Rovaniemi. I can assume that many of our other guests come specifically because of this festival.” ”You cannot expect us to repost information about all public events in Rovaniemi.” I would not have booked this stay if I would have known that there is a very loud music in the whole apartment all night long non-stop. I do not know if anyone would. Since the attitude towards guest is so ignoring - I do not recommend this host. After getting in touch with Airbnb support I had a message from the host where the host offered second night instead of 82% refund (we would simply go home from that airbnb, the apartment was untouched yet). I accepted the night just to stop stressing. After listening to many hours of loud terrible noise I had a bad head-ache and a bad sleep. I would love to go home and regret making a booking. *it took us 1 hour to find parking outside before we checked-in. We parked on the river shore. Cleanlyness big minus: around toilet all walls in urine, dust on window floors and corners (non-professional cleaning) Hospitality non-professional. Host is interested in getting money, not in providing a nice and responsible service.

After the bus got off the bus, it was too difficult to drag the luggage in the snow. Later, I contacted the hotel reception to send a car at my own expense. You can book sleigh rides, snowmobiles, aurora chasing and other projects at the hotel. Overall is good!

🚗 Traffic: The only drawback is that it's really far away and you can take a taxi anywhere. There is a hotel special bus in the morning but it's missed. Everything else is fine.

Meet the New Year family in this wonderful place. Very glad they didn't make a mistake with the choice. Rest on 5 out of 5. It is really a very beautiful place in nature in the surrounding rivers (or lakes) and mothy oils, but to the city and village of Santa Claus hand to hand on the car. The houses themselves are cute, warm and comfortable, the atmosphere is home. Sound isolation is excellent. There is a sauna, and everything is! The hosts are pleasant and responsive people, thank you very much! All this creates a delightful mood and therefore contributes to a good rest! Minus, if such are, they are completely unwilling to notice. But I'll still let myself have a spoon of degth. Because it was New Year I personally didn't have enough dishes and I would have been good to update it. Well, in general everything is wonderful and we got better than we expected. Place to return! Perfect stay! Arrived on my own and was collected promptly at the airport - was offered to stop at Lidl on the way to collect some groceries. The apartment is really spacious and super warm! The sauna is great; gets up to around 85-90°C. The apartment is located about a 10 minute drive from the city centre or Santa's Village. There is shopping about a 3-4 minute drive. Unless you've rented a car, I would suggest using the offered taxi service which is run by the company. Kitchen has everything you'd need; microwave, hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer. My only suggestion would be a couple more towels because between showers and saunas, you'd be finished with them very quickly!

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 3 nights early December as part of the TUI package to Lapland. On-route to the hotel we stopped off to get our winter gear. Transfer around 1hour 30mins. The resort of Luosto has a few hotels, ski slope, souvenir shops and reasonable priced supermarket. The average cost for a glass of wine and beer is £10+ . Room: Very spacious, we had a double bed and sofa bed in another room. Sauna was an added bonus. If you wanted any housekeeping you just had to ask at the front desk. We stored our snow gear in the ground floor heated room which was handy. Location: The hotel was just a 5 minute walk to the ski slope. As a family of 3 we all had a 45 minute lesson for around £130. This is where you can also sledge and go tubing this cost us 20 euros for as long as you liked. I highly recommend this it was so much fun. There is also a nice restaurant/bar here. Staff: I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who were always helpful and friendly. Also small bar area and nice seats by the log fire. Restaurant: Lovely restaurant area and friendly staff. We were half board breakfast was a continental option with lots of choice including porridge. We were half board and the food was fresh and delicious. We didn’t have a choice it was just a set 3 course but luckily we are not fussy eaters. We were a bit disappointed that there was no children’s menu as there was no way my son would eat reindeer or fish soup. So we had a takeaway from a lovely restaurant just down the road called Puna Kettu. Here you could have lovely pizzas and fries. Trips: We had the taster sessions on the Saturday where you have a try of the reindeer ride, husky, snow mobile - I would say just around a few minutes but sometimes that is enough for the younger ones. This day was around -20 but lovely cabins to have a hot chocolate and warm up by the fire. When we went to see Santa this lasted under 60 seconds wasn’t personal and he looked very fake. So that aspect of it was very disappointing. We paid extra for the night snow mobile tour which was 3 hours. We stopped off in a hut half way through the journey to light a fire and to have berry juice. We are so glad we done the trip as we were so lucky to see the Northern Lights. We also paid for the husky ride which was 2 hours, this was a great trip again where you have the chance to meet the dogs and drive the sled. Again these were cold days around -20. On the return home we stopped off in Santa Village, lots of souvenir shops. I have rated the hotel a 4* due to there being no child menu at the hotel. I think they should offer fries at least as guests at the other hotels had a separate menu for children. We would love to return to Lapland but unfortunately it cost so much money. It was something we are so glad we experienced and created so many memories, such a beautiful and picturesque place. You will not be disappointed going to this hotel and it comes highly recommended. I like this 40-year-old hotel very much. The service attitude is good. The facilities are worthy of its age. It is not very old to use. The breakfast is quite satisfactory. The bedding is not comfortable.

Jolly Jamie , light up Luke, jazz Jingle, Jazz Jingle, cheeky elf, coco, emerald to name a few made our holiday absolutely fantastic. The hotel staff were all absolutely brilliant as well. The hotel itself is ready for a bit of a makeover but it’s a lovely warm environment with loads of character. The food was good enough for me for 4 days and I’m a fussy git. I can’t rave enough about this hotel, it’s staff and the Tui package provided to us. We will definitely do it again as Sariselka is also a great place. Thanks from the Riley family

The balcony of the room was facing a small wood, and the scenery after the heavy snow was beautiful. In addition to Finnish and English, there are Japanese in the hotel. No wonder there are many Japanese tourists here, but most of them are middle-aged and elderly. After the Spring Festival, I made a lap in Lapland. There are only few Chinese in Surrey. The ski area here is also very empty, but the snow quality is first-rate.
