The Clifton

We returned after 10 years to an updated and still very beautiful Clifton Hotel. The original and welcoming owners, Carys and David were still there with a small but experienced team of helpful staff. The rooms are tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need, plenty of hot drink choices and a mini bar. We stayed in the balcony bay view room overlooking the beautiful landscaped garden with spectacular views out to sea. The hotel was clean and well maintained and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and accommodating staff. The house keeping staff kept our room well stocked with tea, coffee, biscuits and fresh towels (thank you Becky and Josh). We felt very looked after, breakfast was fabulous every day, lots of choice (the home made marmalade is particularly yummy, thanks Cary’s Mum) and you can order cakes, coffee and hot food throughout the day if you don’t want to go too far. The hotel was as wonderful as we remembered and we are really glad we went back. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful hotel and clean rooms, amazing lounge areas on the ground floor, and the best breakfast experience ever! pool is nice and a free car park as well with plenty of space. staff are very friendly and the owner is nice. You get discount at nearby restaurants if you book with the hotel. Rooms are cleaned daily and stocked with biscuits and refreshments which the children loved. Great location a couple of minutes from the beach and other attractions aren't too far either. We'd love to go back again as the children were disappointed we only stopped a couple of nights and wanted to stay for longer.

We stayed for one night in a very well appointed room; very clean, everything working and Yorkshire tea with enough milk sachets(!), not always a given in more expensive hotels. We ate downstairs, a lovely meal served by Grace ,whose attention was actually perfect, appearing at the right time with lovely food and a great smile. Her colleagues were also excellent during the evening. The food really was very well prepared and presented....we were most impressed with our stay. Thank you!
Chale Bay Farm

We've just returned from a 5 night stay at Chale Bay Farm, in a beautiful and well equipped apartment. It was a great base to explore from, with the most stunning landscape all around you. We stayed in St Catherine's View which I think is the largest, with 2 separate bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen/diner/lounge area and a patio. The weather for our holiday was less than perfect, so it was really good to have the extra space as we spent longer indoors than we normally would. The apartment was clean & nicely furnished, the kitchen very well equipped with everything you need and the thoughtful hosts leave you with bits & bobs (including a fresh pint of milk) to get you settled. Shampoo/conditioner/soap in the bathrooms was a nice quality too. There's also a small gym and sauna on site for guest use, and a massive DVD library. The hosts live on site and are there if you need them but invisible if you don't - we definitely did need them, since we came in an electric car without a charging cable. Hugely grateful to Steve for loaning us his cable (twice) so we could use the charging point in the Farm car park. I'm not entirely sure what we would have done! We would love to come back to Isle of Wight one day, and would definitely stay here again - there really is nothing at all to pick fault with at Chale Bay Farm x
