WillHastingsThe Grand Hotel is north of North Pier and is a huge hotel with many rooms facing the sea, and a spa, pool and gym. We stayed there for 4 nights and walked everywhere (including to South Pier and the Pleasure Beach), so the location was good for us. The hotel itself is nice and the rooms were spacious with an amazing view towards the Tower and North Pier.
The pool, sauna, steam room were great, and cost only £2 per person.
All staff we encountered were friendly.
We would stay here again.

Pippa40Excellent breakfast and evening meal in the Palm court restaurant. Staff very pleasant. Evening entertainment every night. Great location with tram station right outside. Very good value for money for seaview superior room. Cheaper standard rooms need attention in regards to facilities and cleanliness but still good for price. Interesting historic hotel.

The hotel and entrance are great, no complaints there. I’ve been a regular at another hotel within 5 miles of here, where the facilities are immaculate and the rooms are always meticulously clean. So I had high expectations.
On walking into my room (250), it was freezing. I immediately turned on the electric radiator, but was woken up at 2am by the thermostat flicking on and off repeatedly. The digital screen kept lighting up and going off it felt like there was a rave in my room. Highly annoying and not conducive to a good night’s sleep.
Before bed, I went for a shower and splashed foamy suds around as you do. After finishing, I was washing down the inside of the shower cubicle and noticed what I thought were leftover soap suds near the door handle. I went to wipe them off and I can tell you now, they were not soap suds.
Absolutely disgusting. The previous occupant clearly lacked basic hygiene, and although it shouldn’t be expected, the cleaners really need to have a keener eye for detail. This sort of thing should never be missed.
Photos attached for reference.

Guest UserI have stayed here a few times and in general had a pleasant stay. I booked last minute for a Saturday night and I was very disappointed to find a party going on until 12.00. T he music was pretty loud and I had booked a double but was given a twin. I feel that when booking I should have been told there was a disco on and I could have booked elsewhere. On a positive note I appreciate the free parking.

The hotel is right by the sea, and the facilities are noticeably better than hotels in the city center. It's also conveniently located, with a 6-7 pound taxi ride to Winter Gardens.

Excellent stay, excellent dinner, excellent spa experience and breakfast buffet that is second to none!
The Mecure really do know how to provide a great customer experience and every single staff member is courteous, polite, helpful and friendly.
The rooms are enormous and if you are lucky enough to get a courtyard one, your eyes are in for a treat.
Sue and Lucy in the spa are marvellous and even the chambermaid staff, especially Deborah worked with a smile and was helpful with directions. If you stay in a courtyard room you will understand why directions are needed. 😀. All in all I had an absolutely fantastic Mother’s Day stay!

BS TamThe lakeside cabins offer stunning views, and there are plenty of activities, making it perfect for a family vacation. The resort has a convenience store, and the restaurant food quality is high. Even without a car, you can still enjoy a great holiday within the resort grounds.

Easy to find. Parking a short distance from entrance. If you are in anyway disabled you can drop off my main entrance but cannot park.
There is no lift in the hotel so if disabled you are going to need to ask for a ground floor room. I didn't know there was no lift so they had to quickly change my top floor room to ground floor room. They did this effortlessly despite being fully booked.
The room smelt unpleasant so I kept window open and used air freshener.
There was no remote for the TV and when they found a spare remote, the TV didn't work. They brought in a second TV and the manager was a hilarious man who made me roar with laughter as he tried to resolve the issues.
The food was good. I stayed two days. I would come back.

Guest UserOur initial room was very dusty and had a smell of cigarette, my wife made a complaint and reception staff were very helpful, they came to our room and witnessed the dust and changed us to another room with a free dinner although we did insist that we did not mind to pay we did not want them to feel as if we were taking the micky but we have a little that very sensitive.
