4 Stars Hotels in Abruzzo, Italy

We booked this hotel for 9 nights, from August 18, 2023 to August 27, 2023. In the first night an extremely noisy event (which we understood from the Reception when we complained is a DAILY event between 20:00-24:00) from the nearby hotel. No one from the hotel warned us about this. Also, this was not mentioned in the description of the hotel on the website. When we talked about this at the reception, they did not offer any solution. They knew about this problem. They said that they will try to give us another room in a few days, but an worse room that the one we paid for. We checked out the next day. The other negative aspects which are misleading in the description are: Wifi is very poor, room is too small for queen size bed (the balcony door hit the bed, bedside table furniture missing on the balcony side of the bed, balcony without privacy separators, fish smell on staircase at the day of our arrival very scarce breakfast (the day at our checkout and departure). During the breakfast, waiting in line for somebody to slice cheese and ham, waiting in line for somebody to prepare eggs. (Nobody there for the 20 minutes we took breakfast). It seems that Sea Lion Hotel retained the Covid 19 restrictions which benefit their side and limit tourists services, fitness and Spa are out of work, but they marketed it as they offer these sevices. This hotel is a 3 hotel at best, not as it is listed, as a 4 hotel with a rate of 190 euro/night!!! Of course, they don't want to reimburse the money. Fantastic setting right in the middle of the city center and the main shopping street, though easy to reach by car. Friendly staff and easy check-in and check-out. Nice quite rooms and excellent breakfast even in these Covid times. Private enclosed and convenient parking at 50m of the hotel for guests.

Good location and stylish decor. Function is another story though. There are two elevators which are both tiny and carry only two people with luggage. We stayed three nights while traveling with a group, in two different rooms (the first night in a double room, even though we had booked a twin; the hotel claimed they had no other rooms available). The double room was extremely small, while the twin room was slightly more spacious. Even though by definition both rooms slept two people, they both had space for only one suitcase and had only one chair. The first room had no desk at all, with one of the nightstands doubling as desk. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The AC took quite some time to cool the room and was very difficult to adjust. Lack of attention to maintenance was obvious: burned light bulb, loose (or detaching) handles and knobs. Bathroom with no convenient shelf space (unless you want to count the shelf under the sink), no hooks and ho place to hang/place clothes or toiletries. The first room had very slow draining sink and shower. The water was extremely soft and very difficult to rinse. Wifi worked well. Breakfast had a decent selection. The problem was the constant lack of bowls, glasses and utensils. The staff would bring them out 4-5 at a time upon request, and of course they were gone within a couple of minutes.

The very beautiful, refined, cure, sympathetic, but the most I liked is the professional staff always smile and available. The new structure is beautiful, the beautiful rooms, the cleaning sovereign kingdom.

Although it has an excellent location, the overall interior of the hotel will give you a creepy vibe which requires a massive and immediate renovation. The reception area were full of mirrors that needs to be changed due to its preckled appearance. Even the staircases were dusty and common toilet is not so clean. The rooms are ok but outdated. Bedsheets are so far clean, and air conditioning works well. On and off wifi-connection and no restaurant at all. The reception is not so warm and pleasant. We don’t recommend it to avoid any disappointments. Those photos needs to be taken down until a proper renovation has been made. Definitely not worth your money

In genere non faccio recensioni negative perché rispetto il lavoro degli altri. In qs caso a fronte di un hotel 4 stelle, il cui prezzo non è alla portata di tutti , non posso non evidenziare alcune criticità. La reception è al primo piano e si raggiunge facendo una scalinata perché l’ascensore e’ all’interno, al piano -1 non visibile o segnalato , raggiungibile dopo aver attraversato la sala ristorante. Praticamente chiunque entra ed esce dall’albergo , senza mai passare dalla reception , ma è perfetto per la privacy degli ospiti. La stanza è di dimensioni normali, ma non c’è un armadio, solo uno stand con gli ometti a vista. In bagno non c’è una mensola porta oggetti, la doccia ha le porte che non chiudono bene e si allaga tutto lo spazio antistante. Per cui siamo stati costretti ad usare il doccino e non il soffione. Il terrazzo è bello, ben arredato ed è un punto di forza soprattutto per la vista spettacolare. La piscina non è nella struttura ma per raggiungerla bisogna attraversare il parcheggio auto. Molto carina, sdraio comode, ben curata. Il mare è raggiungibile da una scalinata non proprio agevole e dopo aver attraversato una strada piuttosto trafficata. Il ristorante/sala colazione è raggiungibile con l’ascensore dopo aver attraversato le cucine e il magazzino dell’albergo le cui porte sono sempre aperte. Organizzazione degli spazi incomprensibile. La colazione è di buona qualità, nulla da dire. Nota di merito allo staff delle pulizie eccellente.

Totally hate the staying here, it ruined my hollyday even from the begining. So: I made a reservation from Romania for 2 persons : me and my daughter and they asked for a 2night deposit (even if they advertise as not necessary). Anyway, I paid for the deposit and when I got at the property, I was told I need to pay for the whole staying in advance…weird but I agreed with that. I was assured that my 246 euros (the initial deposit) would be returned in one day or two. 5 days later ane I still don’t have my money back. The toilet broke while I was there asked for it to be repairted, the shower was horrible and the walls dirty. What really bothers is the attitude from the reception which is totally unfriendly…I could say hostile. This is not what I paid for and never will ome back here ciiihhh 😥😥😥 What is really good is the cleaning personnel: very friendly, impeccable work: everyday cleaning is perfect even though I didn ask for some of it it was realized as it should be. 🙏🏻 Breakfast was poor: I had fresh vegetables in one single occasion and in some other occasions I had the feeling it was the dinner from the previous day…not happy at all

We stayed a week here. Accessibility wise, it is only a short walk to the beach and restaurants BUT it is down and then up a very steep hill. Unless you like fish, most of the nearby restaurants will not suit you. Would recommend having a car due to these facts. There is a courtesy mini bus service to a beach which was at a cost of €25 euros per day inc umbrella, chairs etc. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice. The food was very good but is a limited menu. Portion size on the small size. We ate breakfast most mornings which at €5 is good value for money . Varied buffet breakfast with lovely local bread and cakes, fruit yoghurt etc, cold meat and cheeses and scrambled eggs. We booked 6 months in advance and were disappointed with the room allocated to us. We had booked a superior room and queried on the first night if that was what we were in. We were assured we were……but….. on further conversation the next day with very helpful check in desk staff, it became clear we were in one half of a family room. There was not much difference in amenity except the superior room was approx 8-10 m2 bigger…..so a huge difference. We were subsequently moved on night 3 of 7 so this aspect was disappointing and the photos on the website of various rooms are very misleading. We felt slightly cheated over this. There is also an issue with noise from other rooms which is audible for sure but did not cause us any significant issue. In terms of the rooms and public areas, the gardens and pool areas are very pleasant to spend time in. The restaurants for breakfast and dinner are ok too. The rooms and corridors are tired and do need refreshing in our view, especially the bathrooms which are showing signs of age with black mould in a lot of the grouting. Lastly, the staff throughout the hotel were outstanding in every respect. The service was exceptional…… friendly, informative, professional and efficient. 10/10. Had this not been the case we would have reviewed it at 3/5.

Hotel 4 stelle con annessa residenza con appartamenti! Parto subito complimentandomi con Stefania dell’accoglienza sempre gentilissima e cordiale e capace di soddisfare ogni nostra richiesta! Inoltre complimenti anche a Nicola il maitre di sala che ci ha accolto seguendoci ad ogni pranzo e ad ogni cena con estrema professionalità! Grazie ad entrambi! Il resto del personale nulla da dichiarare! Questo hotel ha Grande potenzialità ma purtroppo non sfruttata appieno! 4 pallini verdi però sono meritati ma grazie alle persone sopra menzionate! Consiglio di fare tesoro delle precedenti recensioni per correggere alcuni dettagli ed essere impeccabili! Un consiglio per il cuoco: NO ARROSTICINI se non preparati con il metodo classico! Inoltre arricchite la carta dei vini, me lo aspetto in un hotel a 4 stelle!

Struttura assolutamente non da 4 stelle, mi pare una beffa che sia classificata anche come supirior, magari poteva esserlo negli anni '70. Caratteristiche positive: fronte spiaggia, mare con fondale basso e, perlomeno durante il nostro soggiorno, pulito, quindi adatto ai bambini. Presenza di una piscina adiacente alla spiaggia, sempre adatta ai bambini, anzi direi quasi esclusivamente a loro, poichè abbastanza piccola di dimensioni. Preciso che queste caratteristiche sono presenti in diversi hotel della zona, dato che a Montesilvano tanti sono gli alberghi fronte spiaggia. Sala ristorante vista spiaggia, cibo in quantità abbondante e di media qualità con personale disponibile e gentile. Pulizia generale discreta. Caratteristiche negative: struttura obsoleta da ristrutturare, stanze con arredamento demodè. La stanza a noi assegnata, tripla uso quadrupla, era molto striminzita, il letto a castello presente aveva la sbarra del letto in alto che cascava ad ogni minima sollecitazione, pertanto pericolante e pericoloso, e nonostante la nostra segnalazione il problema nn è stato risolto. Il balcone angusto e con diverse scrostature delle pareti. Il bagno, perlomeno nella nostra stanza, era decente, quindi probabilmente ristrutturato. Animazione da rianimazione...composta da due ragazze, in erba, alle prese con il mini club e una capo animatrice purtroppo assolutamente non in grado di animare, pertanto intrattenimento nn all'altezza, tanto che sarebbe stato meglio non ci fosse. Parcheggio all'aperto a pagamento di 10 euro al giorno soggetto a prenotazione, poiché posti auto non sufficienti al numero di stanze, per fortuna all'esterno di parcheggio sicuro se ne trova anche ad agosto, quindi si può evitare questo obolo. Il personale dipendente è gentile, salvo il signore addetto al bar della spiaggia, mi pare si chiami Piero, abbastanza scocciato e poco cortese con i bambini, a differenza delle altre ragazze addette al bar e del bagnino sempre disponibili e sorridenti. Scarsa accoglienza e scortesia da parte di chi ci ha accolti all'arrivo, che poi abbiamo scoperto essere uno dei direttori della struttura, che non ci ha nemmeno detto come fare per scaricare i bagagli e da dove entrare. Altra scortesia riservataci dalla direzione è stata per il pranzo di Ferragosto, unico giorno durante il nostro soggiorno in cui il pranzo è stato servito a sedere e non a buffet, il nostro tavolo non era stato previsto e arrangiato all'ultimo, a distanza dal resto della sala e in uno spazio di servizio non idoneo alla presenza di ospiti, a maggior ragione nel numero di 4. Altra sensazione sgradevole è che vi è un trattamento differenziale, anche a parità di trattamento pagato, tra clienti nuovi e abituali, i quali ultimi ricevono maggiori attenzioni, magari l'occhio di riguardo ci sta, ma se la sensazione è tangibile denota cattiva gestione e scarsa professionalità. ho soggiornato due notti e sono rimasto molto soddisfatto sotto ogni punto di vista. la villa è stupenda ed è situata in posizione ottimale per gli spostamenti. vi è un parcheggio interno gratuito. la zona è tranquilla , le camere impeccabili, ottima la colazione. da aggiungere la disponibilità e la gentilezza dei gestori.

A lovely hotel with the best ever smiling and always helpful staff. We stayed there for 2 weeks for a chess tournament and was very pleased. Rooms are good and spacious. The main reception area was great. The dining area was great sea facing with best views. Special mention of reception staff: Orsola and Pierluigi. Any suggestion is accepted with smiling face and all requests actioned almost instantly. Another mention of room service staff Maria. Cleaned and made the room really well. Special mention of dining staff Emanuela who took good care of our dietary requests and bridged our communication with the chef.
