This hotel is conveniently located near Kyoto Station, making it super easy to get to from Kansai Airport – it's right outside the station! The soundproofing is excellent; once you close the window, you can barely hear any noise. There are plenty of convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants inside the station, so dining is a breeze. The room itself is quite spacious for Japanese standards. Check-in and check-out are self-service, which is convenient. It's perfect if you're planning to take the JR or Kintetsu lines to explore nearby cities. However, if you're mainly looking to explore Kyoto city, it might not be as convenient as you'll have a bit of a walk to catch a bus.

This hotel is in a great location nearly next to Nishiki Market. Around the hotel is very quiet.
The room we received was facing the graveyard, I’m not sure why there are so many negatives reviews about it but we had no problems with it. No ****** visited us😋😅
The bed was very spacious but a little hard. The pillows were also quite hard so we woke up sore a few times… overall the room was very clean and amenities were available downstairs if needed like toothbrush or qtips.
The staff were very kind and brought our luggage to our room before we arrived through luggage forwarding. After check out, they also allowed us to store it in the back for a few hours.

I was very satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The bed was comfortable and the space was quiet, allowing for a very relaxing rest. All the facilities worked well, the bathroom was clean, and the hot water was stable.
The location of the hotel is in the centre of everything. Could access best restaurant nearby and also the convenient store. The room is small but super clean. The staff also is very helpful and friendly.

A quiet escape amidst the hustle and bustle. The room decor was warm and elegant, with attention to detail evident throughout. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a fantastic night's sleep. The service was gentle and professional, and the location made getting around both convenient and pleasant. It was a truly delightful stay and definitely worth revisiting.

The hotel is just one subway stop away from Kyoto Station. There's a shuttle bus that runs between the hotel and Kyoto Station, and you can get discount coupons at the hotel lobby. It's 100 yen per ride for both adults and children. On the second floor, there's a restaurant, and on the first floor, there are shops and experience centers for flower arrangement, tea ceremony, and pottery. The hotel also provides discount coupons for dining on the second floor, with no restrictions on use. Each coupon is worth 1000 yen, and we received and used all four of them.
Behind the hotel is the Central Fish Market. I recommend visiting between 4-5 AM to witness the wholesale auction. We arrived at 5:45 AM and it was almost over. If waking up that early is too difficult, exploring all the exhibitions in the corridor on the second floor will also provide a lot of interesting insights.
Next to the hotel are Umekoji Park, an aquarium, and a railway museum, making it very suitable for families with children.
The hotel rooms are spacious, and the hot spring on the third floor is very comfortable. There's also a rooftop on the ninth floor where you can enjoy the night view.

The room is on the smaller side, but the bed is incredibly comfortable. The breakfast offers a great variety, and the lobby lounge area is very cozy. Plus, there's a hot spring on B1 which, though not huge, is wonderfully relaxing. The location is super convenient for getting around, with easy access to transport and plenty of dining options nearby.

With a stay at KIORI Collection Gokomachi, you'll be centrally located in Kyoto, steps from Kawaramachi Street and 6 minutes by foot from Shijo Street. This hotel is 0.4 mi (0.7 km) from Nishiki Market and 0.5 mi (0.8 km) from Pontocho Alley.
Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and laundry facilities.
Make yourself at home in one of the 21 air-conditioned guestrooms. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Private bathrooms with showers feature complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include safes and complimentary bottled water, and housekeeping is provided daily.
The hotel is conveniently located in Nijo, close to a Life supermarket, Muji, and Nijo Castle. There are also many coffee shops and restaurants nearby, making dining very convenient. It's only two stops from Kyoto Station, which is very quick, and the hotel is right outside Nijo Station. The room size is also quite generous. My only minor complaint is that there were some dirty marks on the wall, probably from guests' luggage. I considered asking to switch rooms but decided against it to avoid the hassle. Also, I noticed that booking hotels in Kyoto closer to the check-in date, especially after the free cancellation period, can sometimes be cheaper than booking in advance.

The lobby makes a strong first impression with its tasteful, contemporary design—very much in line with what seasoned travelers appreciate after a long journey.
Location-wise, the hotel is a solid choice. Being close to the train station and surrounded by local food options made getting around and finding good meals effortless.
That said, the 5pm check-in time is noticeably later than usual and can be inconvenient if you arrive early. I passed the time at the restaurant and bar next to the lobby, taking advantage of their Happy Hour, which helped. A nice touch was the self-service luggage storage area—practical and traveler-friendly.
I stayed in a corner room. The room itself was fine: clean, functional, and simple, as expected of many Japanese hotels. The view, however, was unremarkable.
I also tried the public bath. It was reasonably sized and, thankfully, not too crowded during my visit, making it a relaxing experience.
Service was a bit cool at first, though it improved as the stay went on.
Overall, I would consider returning, especially when traveling as a couple.

GGuest UserWe absolutely loved the facilities and location of Kyoto Gojo Premium Hotel. It is incredibly convenient—just a 5-minute drive to Kyoto Station, and only one train stop away, making it very easy to get around.
The hot spring facilities were especially comfortable and relaxing, and it was such a wonderful experience for our whole family. We also really enjoyed the breakfast provided by the hotel, which was delicious and a great way to start each day.
The staff were warm, friendly, and always helpful. Overall, we had a truly enjoyable stay and a very memorable experience.
AAnonymous UserI really liked my stay in Tokyu Stay! The hotel is located quite near the train station, doesn’t give any anxiety when getting to the train station with our luggage’s. It is also located near a lot of food places. I like that there was a washing machine provided in the room, it’s so convenient! There are free sake and coffee at the hotel lobby. There are two hotels under Tokyu Stay on the same street so don’t panic if you went to the wrong one, because this outlet is just down the street.
WWensiewGood location with several convenience store nearby if you are looking for food at the middle of the night. The room is good enough for a family with two kids. Most important clean bathrooms. Laundry facilities provided with self pay washing machine and dryer. Interesting part is that we can see in live mode which washing machine or dryer is in use. A lot of things are of self service mode. Walkable distance to teamLab. 👍🏻✌🏻

YYury GrinI stayed for 4 nights from January 4 to January 8, 2026.
From the hotel, you can walk to Nijo Castle in about 10 minutes. There are many small convenience stores nearby (7-Eleven and the like), as well as two large supermarkets — Life is open until midnight, which is a huge plus. You can buy nice gifts for friends and family late in the evening without wasting daytime hours.
The transportation access is great too: within a few minutes' walk there's a subway station and a JR line (convenient for coming from the railway station), and right next to the hotel there's a bus stop. This is important because Kyoto's sights are scattered all over the city, and you often need to use public transport or taxis.
Speaking of taxis. Twice I asked the reception to call me a taxi, and both times the staff helped me — a huge thank you to them! It was especially important on the first day: thanks to a taxi, I made it to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in time and explored it without rushing.
Check-in was very quick, and the staff explained where everything was.
The room was quite spacious — or maybe it just felt that way. I comfortably unpacked my suitcase and took out everything I needed without feeling cramped. The room had all the essentials, and there were kettles near the elevator that you could take to your room if needed. I did, and had some tea before bed (on the first floor, you can grab a free tea bag if you don't have your own).
The air conditioner worked for both cooling and heating — which was very useful on some evenings. Honestly, I only used the hotel to sleep, and it was perfectly fine.
Every morning, breakfast is served on the first floor. To be honest, I expected something simple since the room rate was quite affordable. That's why the breakfast was such a pleasant surprise! My eyes wandered every morning at the variety of delicious food! A huge selection. Every day I had rice with various toppings, amazing salmon, cod, and various vegetables (the okra here was especially good).
There's a small smoking room on the first floor with good ventilation.
My overall impression of the hotel is extremely positive. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.
GGuest UserService: The room was incredibly spacious and clean, and the staff even helped lay out the futons. The service was very warm and welcoming.
Shopping: The first floor has a great selection of souvenirs and pastries. They're affordable and a bit more refined than what you'd find at Don Quijote. Plus, hotel guests get a 10% discount.
Unique Experiences: You can experience a traditional tea ceremony in the lobby on the first floor, and there's a really comfortable communal bath on the basement level.
Location: It's super close to Kyoto Station, just a few minutes' walk. There's also a large temple nearby.
Food: There are tons of dining and shopping options around. Right across the street, there's a Kobe beef restaurant, and just a short walk away, you'll find a popular fried beef cutlet place with a long line. There are also izakayas and more.
Shopping (cont.): It's also very convenient for shopping. Just a few steps away is a large multi-purpose commercial center with everything from clothing brands like Uniqlo and GU, shoe stores like ABC Mart, to stationery, cameras, electronics, and headphones.

GGuest UserEvery time I visit Kyoto these past few years, I always stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right in Sanjo Kawaramachi, very close to the Kamo River. There are tons of shopping and dining options nearby. The hygiene is good, and toiletries can be conveniently picked up from the lobby. The room attendants are warm, attentive, and polite. However, the service standard of the lobby staff has declined; they just get the job done. Also, because the hotel is in a bustling area, there's always a huge crowd coming and going, which can be a bit annoying after a while. What I really need to complain about is the duvet. The fabric isn't 100% cotton, and there's a thin sheet liner inside, so it always ends up a mess by morning. This time, I was smarter and brought my own duvet cover, but it still didn't solve the problem. When I took it apart, I realized the duvet cover and duvet weren't secured with ties. For the rest of my stay, I had to make the bed myself to sleep more comfortably.
TTravelsoloMight be more suitable for first timers or travellers who are into Kiyomizu temple or Gion(both location walkable from hotel)
I'm a frequent traveller to Japan/Kyoto thus location does not work well for me but not a deal breaker.
Hotel is pretty big as I feel the distance walking from elevator to room, decent size rooms with windows that can be opened for maybe 3 inches(?) Enough pillows and quiet room for good rest and also nice public areas with lotsa greens. Rooms need to be more throughly cleaned though as I found coffee/tea stains on the table top(not acceptable for hotels of this grade)
The in room water dispenser is a great idea though.
There's a bakery within the hotel itself thats open from breakfast if you are into convenience, delish but there are simply too many good bakeries(or other breakfast places) in Kyoto.

KkewinnChoosing this hotel for my Kyoto trip was a brilliant decision! The overall ambiance is elegant and thoughtful, but I especially want to rave about the self-service drink machine in the lobby – it was such a delightful little bonus during my travels. The machine itself is sleek and blends perfectly with the hotel's style. The drink selection is incredibly diverse, from ice-cold sodas to warm beverages, and the cooling works really well. Coming back after a long day of sightseeing and grabbing a refreshing drink was incredibly therapeutic. Operating it was super easy with a quick QR code scan, fast recognition, and instant dispensing after payment. Being able to grab a drink 24/7 was a lifesaver; no more having to trek far just for a late-night beverage.
GGuest UserOverall, my stay at the Kyoto Arala Hotel was pretty good. The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station, making it super easy to get to various attractions and transfer to other transportation. There are also plenty of convenience stores and drugstores nearby, which is very handy. The room layout was well-designed, and the bedding was comfortable, so I slept really well during my stay. The hotel's on-site hot spring was a major highlight; soaking in it after a day of sightseeing completely washed away my fatigue. The staff were friendly and helpful, and both check-in and check-out were quick. All the facilities were excellent. I particularly appreciated the front desk service that allowed me to courier my luggage from Kyoto to Tokyo, saving me from having to lug my suitcase on the Shinkansen, which was incredibly convenient.
The only downside was the extremely slow and unstable Wi-Fi in the room. Streaming videos, browsing the web, and even replying to WeChat messages often resulted in buffering or no connection at all. For all four days, I had to use my own mobile data in the room, and I really hope they can improve this aspect.
Putting the Wi-Fi issue aside, this hotel offers great overall value for money.
