The hotel is directly opposite Welcome Seafood, and the mountain view room is quiet and comfortable. I had a really pleasant stay, highly recommend it! The hotel service is also excellent, attentive and thoughtful, making for a first-class experience. I definitely recommend staying here.

We had a lovely stay at The Luma Hotel. I instantly fell in live with their interior the moment I saw it on social media, more so when we got to experience staying in it. Apart from their impeccably well-thought of interior design, I also appreciate how accommodating their staffs were as well as how convenient the location of the hotel. Would definitely come back once I visit Kota Kinabalu

The location is super convenient, right next to Suria Sabah shopping mall. Shopping, groceries, and dining are all within easy reach. The DBKK jetty is a 3-5 minute walk away, making island hopping a breeze. Gaya Street is also a 6-10 minute walk, perfect for shopping and picking up local specialties. All in all, the location is excellent! (The best part is that you can find Shu Da Xia hotpot inside Suria Sabah, and there's another Sichuan restaurant next to Ya Yan. It's tough getting used to local food when traveling abroad, it's often too sweet, so having familiar Chinese food was a huge blessing!)
The family room we booked for four was very spacious. On our first day, we were lucky to find a very pretty front desk lady who spoke Chinese, though she was the only one – the other staff only spoke English. Communication was smooth on the first day, and check-in was quick. We ran into her again on our last day, and she offered free luggage storage. I'd definitely stay here again next time.
The buffet breakfast had limited variety, but it was enough to fill you up, and you could still find something you liked. (Don't set your expectations too high; it's not as lavish as the breakfasts offered in various hotels back home.)
There's also a rooftop pool, which we unfortunately didn't get to use due to time constraints.
We had a sea view from our room, which was a pleasant surprise!

The room's location is pretty good. It's quiet and only a 10-minute walk to the beach. There's also a pool on the rooftop, and it's self-check-in. You can store your luggage at the security booth downstairs for 6-10 Malaysian Ringgit. It's a bit far from the city center, but there's not much to do there anyway, just eat and browse. The main reason to go to Kota Kinabalu is for the sea.
Waiting for the boat at the pier, the staff member was really nice. He brought us chairs to sit on and even offered us water. Although I didn't catch his name, I really want to thank him!
Upon arrival, the front desk was already there to greet us. Honestly, if your English isn't great, communication on the island can be a bit challenging, for instance, regarding the shower water, Wi-Fi, or power outages. They explained everything in great detail, and the next day, they even followed up to ask about the hot water – they truly care about guest satisfaction. Oh, and they upgraded us to a high-floor villa! We encountered two geckos and a small snake in the room, but the kids weren't scared at all because they knew they were harmless creatures. A super-sized cockroach crawled out of the drain in the bathroom, haha, my child watched it for ages. To be honest, considering it's in the mountains, maintaining it to this standard is quite impressive. It was a great experience, far from the city's hustle and bustle, allowing us to enjoy the charm of the ocean and the forest.
We stayed in a high-floor villa and ordered room service for dinner. The delivery staff worked so hard, carrying the trays all the way to our room, and the food was still surprisingly hot, which really touched us. We gave them a small tip as a token of our appreciation for their efforts.
Stayed at The Sigar Sutera Bay and had a really pleasant experience overall.
Cleanliness: 5/5 – The room and common areas were very clean and well maintained throughout my stay.
Location: Quite strategic. It’s conveniently located near popular spots like Aru Beach, Suria Sabah, Jesselton, as well as malls such as Servay Penampang and Emart Lintas, making it easy to get around.
Service: The reception team was very helpful and responsive whenever I needed assistance or requested items.
Amenities: Good facilities provided. The swimming pool was spacious and clean, which made it enjoyable to relax and unwind.
Overall, a comfortable stay and worth considering if you’re visiting the area.
This isn't a resort, but rather an excellent transit hotel for your first night. The quality is top-tier: it is brand-new, impeccably clean, fully automated, and staffed by incredibly friendly people.
> Location:Not on the beach, but in the airport's Arab quarter. There is a 24/7 supermarket nearby, though no renowned restaurants.
> Recommendation:If you land in the evening, save your money by staying here first to rest before heading to your resort the next day.
> 这家不是传统度假酒店,而是极佳的中转站。酒店品质顶尖,设施崭新、全智能化且卫生极佳,员工也非常友善。
> 位置:不在海滩边,位于机场附近的阿拉伯区。周边有24小时超市,但无知名餐厅。
> *建议:若您傍晚落地,无需将钱浪费在度假酒店上,推荐先住在这里休整一晚,次日再前往度假。

The location is pretty good, right at the northernmost end of Gaya Street, next to the Hyatt, Suria Sabah, and the Atkinson Clock Tower. There's a rooftop pool with four lounge chairs and a small bar. The room was a bit small with an inward-facing window, so it was just okay. I didn't dare drink the tap water. It's suitable for a one-night layover when you first arrive, but a resort is definitely more comfortable for a relaxing vacation.

Great hotel and staff. The morning breakfast is the best. We loved it. The location is far from Gaya street though.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was suitable for a family and for those who prefer to relax. The view from our room was fascinating and breathtaking. Their food is super tasty. We only need 5 to 10 minutes to access food places and a trip package to Pasar Semporna. We will book this hotel again once we come back to Semporna.
Our family spent three nights at Sky Water Villas. Upon our arrival at the Tourist Jetty, we were unsure where to go as their office was hidden within the other houses in the village. However, once you asked someone, they will connect you to the office. There was welcome drink after that 20 minute boat ride to the villa. There was wifi throughout the villa and the rooms has airconditioning. The meals were delicious. In the evening when the tides went up, we helped ourselves to the scuba masks, kayaks and played in the water, all complimentary. The water was clear but the corals are not thriving. A unique experience in the middle of the sea, mini Maldives.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable island getaway Our stay at Sutera @ Mantanani was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and breathtaking views of crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to blend with the natural beauty of the island. Waking up to the sound of the sea was truly refreshing. The food was delicious, with a good variety, and we appreciated the care taken in every meal. What stood out the most was the staff friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The snorkeling experience was unforgettable, with vibrant marine life just steps away from the resort. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape from city life and a chance to reconnect with nature, Sutera @ Mantanani is the perfect choice. We left with wonderful memories and would definitely love to return. Highly recommended! 🌊🌴

Great
I had a pleasant stay at Promenade Hotel. The location is very convenient right in the city center, close to shopping malls, waterfront attractions, and dining options. It’s a great base for exploring Kota Kinabalu. The lobby and common areas are spacious and welcoming. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained with all the basic amenities I needed. The sea view rooms are especially worth it for the sunset views over the waterfront. Breakfast offered a good variety of local and international options, though the restaurant can get quite busy during peak hours. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and check-in/check-out was smooth. Overall, everything was good 😊😊😊

We had a wonderful stay at Borneo Beach Villa. The rooms were very clean and spacious, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. One of the highlights was the beautiful sunset view, which was absolutely stunning. The staff were responsive, friendly, and always helpful whenever we needed assistance. The hotel also has easy access to the beach, which made it very convenient to enjoy the ocean anytime. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.
This accommodation is suitable for a large family. It is conveniently located near Jesselton Jetty and Gaya Street. There are also various dining options in the vicinity. No deposit is required for check-in.

Great
Nice, comfortable stay with friendly staff. Overall, we enjoyed our time here. However, we booked a room for 4 persons, but only 2 travel kits were provided (2 toothbrushes, 1 comb, etc.). We had to call housekeeping to request additional items. After a long journey, we were quite tired and hoped the room would be fully prepared according to the number of guests. It would be much better if a complete set was provided upon check-in. Breakfast was simple but nice, which we appreciated. One downside is the parking fee, which is quite expensive — RM30 per day for front shop parking and RM15 for basement parking. Hopefully, the hotel can look into improving or offering better parking rates for guests.
