Kerry Lane Motel

Nothing to complain about with this place. Have stayed here on two different occasions for several days and have always been treated well by the owners. Rooms are very roomy and look to have been recently renovated. Always tidy inside and out. Farm animals on-site within a few steps of your back door which gives that friendly country feel. It’s about a 5 minute drive to the main street but it’s great being away from everyone. Can have a good view of Mt Taranaki if the weather is good. This would be my number one motel in NZ
Millennium Hotel New Plymouth, Waterfront

Book in was a little slow due to only one clerk and a lot of people. Room was comfy though for new travellers who don't know about inserting cards to get access to power, it would have been nice for the clerk to advise of this in any event, whether known or not. There was no kitchenette which made things difficult and filling up the kettle in the bathroom was a little yuck to me. The room had no plates or cutlery, which was a shame. Hotel parking is listed as 'first come first served with paid options closeby' (literally a car park across the road) but people were parked everywhere in the carpark making it difficult to navigate, including parking directly in the left side of the driveway to exit. Overall it was a decent stay overnight. Bed was comfy and shower was pretty good.
Auto Lodge

What a beautiful place to stay. Stayed in rooms not yet refurbished but it was comfortable, warm and cozy. The only thing i was surprised with was I couldn't watch the channels I normally do on sky TV. However, the staff friendliness and helpfulness more than makes up for it. I would recommend staying at Auto Lodge without any hesitation. Location is superb too, very handy to the coastal walkway which I'd say is a must do here. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We recently stayed here for a weekend away. From the moment that we booked, the service was exceptional. A personalised email shortly following our booking set the tone, where nothing is a problem for the staff at this hotel. They were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our weekend in their beautiful city. The facilities are modern and sparkly clean, with the beds among the most comfortable that I have experienced in a hotel. The central location is fantastic, we walked everywhere and didn’t hop in the car again until we left. The free onsite car parking is the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back!

A lovely, clean, tidy and modern place to stay. On a main road but unit was pretty quiet. Good quality bed and bedding, decent pillows and towels. Excellent value for money. Very helpful at reception and good laundry. Will stay again and recommend.
The Devon Hotel A Heritage Hotel

At first, the room was next to the road. Although there were three beds, I was worried about the noise. I asked the front desk for help. The manager Josh was very friendly and helped me move to 02, which was very quiet and next to the courtyard. He also helped bring the luggage there and delayed check-out for one hour. It was very nice. . Anna, the girl from Tajikistan in Central Asia, is beautiful and attentive, and her introduction is spot on. The heated swimming pool is very enjoyable, the historical building is newly renovated, and the bed is big and comfortable. The only thing is that if the bathroom shower curtain is longer and reaches the floor, it will be better waterproof and resistant to random movements. It's convenient to eat around, and parking is free inside and outside
Amber Court Motel

When we arrived, it was close to 10 o'clock in the evening, so I was really afraid that there would be problems in the stay - but in fact there is a British lady waiting for us! When we arrived, we received us very kindly, and we warmly told us where we can eat at night. The next morning we saw the proprietress, the Chinese lady, and the kindness is not to be said. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, and the equipment is very complete! If you come later, I will still choose to stay here!

It was okay not much milk, little space and heating was not working properly. Place was a bit dusty, very small and tight parking space. Thin walls can hear people next door.
Landmark Manor

Large room, very clean and well equipped, air con, fridge, microwave, well situated in the town and easy parking. Pleasant staff, would go again. Only drawback was no milk for drinks but we didn't really need it! Difficult to find a nice bar but eventually found Good Home with rooftop bar!
Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki

This is a lovely place, made especially so by the super helpful staff, especially the highly professional Mark, who couldn’t have been more helpful. We took advantage of their complimentary bikes to explore the boardwalk, which was awesome. Breakfast was great (definitely worth buying it as part of the room rate). We loved the ability to chrome cast – but the only ****** was that the tvs are enclosed in a rock solid case (and no ability to mirror) so it’s impossible to plug in a hdmi cable if you want to watch saved programmes, unless you ask Mark (of course) to help.
