Excel Hotel

Bayi Road Passenger Station Area
The evaluation is late, so I came here to evaluate it. The hotel rooms are comfortable and the service is considerate. I overheard the morning meeting of the hotel, and I can feel the hotel's careful service requirements for customers, and attach importance to customer feelings. I hope to have the opportunity to stay again!
Wanda Vista Xining

I will start off by saying that the room and bathroom were well appointed, the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. However, whilst the room was generally clean, when I dropped something that subsequently rolled under a fitted unit, I was pretty disgusted to see the dust and filth beneath it. It clearly had not been cleaned for…well…ever? I appreciate that these areas will not be as clean as the more visible parts of the room, however for a five star hotel, this is unacceptable. I do not expect to find dirty tissues and a thick layer of dust and dirt anywhere in my hotel room. But by far the absolute worst part of my stay was the inability to control the temperature in the room whatsoever. The room was so swelteringly hot that despite the comfortable bed, and everything to go with it, I was almost unable to sleep at all. I do not expect this in a five star hotel(and have never experienced it other than here and at anther Wanda hotel in Hohhot), I pay for luxury; controlling the room temperature is a basic requirement that I can even do in a 50 yuan a night hostel dorm. When I asked the staff at reception the following morning I was told the AC wouldn’t be available until after April 15th because ‘it’s cold outside’. Firstly, I am not sleeping outside, I am sleeping inside, on the 22nd floor, where it is anything but cold. Not to mention it was April, not January, even in Xining it is not that cold. Secondly, as a paying guest, in a five star hotel, it should be up to me to decide if it is hot or cold, not the hotel. For this reason, as lovely as the room, staff and breakfast may have been, I would not stay here again. I checked out and moved to the lower rated Hilton, where I could control the room temperature and actually managed to sleep…generally what the whole point of a hotel is.
Mercure Hotel

Ximen/Dashizi commercial area
The room was not spacious but it was very comfortable and clean. The bed was especially comfortable. The windows opened wide (with mosquito nets) so there was cool air-flow at night. There are a few well-priced good restaurants in the area.
Chaoman Hotel (Xining Railway Station Xinqian Wangfujing Branch)

This hotel has some absolutely great features but overall I would never stay there again. I was initially very impressed with the great service on check in (including no fuss about a foreign passport) and the high tech features of the hotel seemed amazing - you use an an app to open the door and control the room functions such as opening the curtains and turning on the lights. There was also a robot wandering around with no obvious function but had some mad telekinesis skills on show in the lift. So far, great, impressed, 5 stars. However, all of this high tech wizardry was no good when the temperature of the room was like 30 degrees and there was no air con. It was actually a pleasant and cool evening in Xining and walking back to the hotel after dinner I was even partially looking forward to a nice warm duvet. But the room itself would make the Fins sweat. There was no place for duvets in a sauna. We phoned reception about this and they suggested opening the window (a revelation that we'd made independently), however the window in question was about the size of an A4 paper and the draft was about as powerful as an asthmatic playing air saxophone. We asked for a fan and they said they get it sorted but they never did so we had to open the door thereby exposing any other guests to this sight of me starfished in a pool of sweat. Apart from the being hotter than the surface of Venus, the TV also didn't work, or at least it did for about ten minutes before cutting out. Essentially long story short, this hotel was nailing some of the top level stuff but needed a bit of works on the basics. Breakfast was so so. Tea or coffee would have made it better.
Sanwant Hotel

Ximen/Dashizi commercial area
The room facilities are a bit old but still clean. The quality of toothbrushes and comb supplies is still good. The underground parking lot is a bit too old. The security uncle is very enthusiastic and can provide proactive guidance. I asked the front desk that only two bottles of water are provided in the room, and more is not provided. However, the room provides free Wangwang snacks for children. Service? Front desk room staff feel tired dealing with guests.
Haifeng International Hotel

Very satisfied, the hotel has a great location, the hotel is quiet and comfortable, the rooms are spacious and clean. The room service is very timely, the front desk service is very good, very thoughtful, and there is a special robot to deliver things. It is very close to Xining Airport and it is very convenient to take a taxi. The breakfast has a variety of varieties and tastes delicious. There are many snack bars and fruit shops around for convenient shopping. It was a very good stay experience, recommended to stay!
Kaibang Hotel Geermu
4.6/51155 Reviews
This is one of the better quality options in Golmud (there aren’t many). The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was good. Unfortunately, the service was very poor - there were no functioning USB ports in the room and the hotel was unhelpful - seeming unwilling or unable able to offer a solution. The “room service” is actually takeaway food delivered from outside the hotel but no cutlery/chopsticks was provided with it. When we asked the hotel to provide some, it took nearly 20 minutes to arrive (longer than the food itself), by which time the food was getting cold. We had to ask repeatedly for sufficient drinking water, having only been provided two small bottles for two people. Aside from the poor service, the hotel is in an odd location, surrounding by closed shops and building sites - nowhere near the commercial centre of the city - with nothing within walking distance. With the right management, it could be an excellent hotel, but it’s not quite there at the moment.
Xingsu Grassland Starry Sky Inn

I thought it would be cold, but the room is really warm! The hotel is very clean and new, and the public areas are also very distinctive, suitable for friends to chat and drink together. I didn't see the stars at night, and the lights on the outside of the cabin were not turned off at night, let alone see... but the room was still very good! The only embarrassing thing is that the toilet has no door
Walking Road Book Courtyard

The yard is in a small alley, very quiet, the room is clean and tidy, there are disposable bath towels (charged), and the bathroom is separated from wet and dry. The restaurant's products are also good, there are Tibetan food and Chinese and Western food. My favorite is his Tibetan hot pot. The meat is fresh and the conditioning is made by the chef in the yard. The taste is also good, with hot pot to eat, that is a must.
Campanile Hotel Xining Railway Station

Xining Railway Station
A very nice hotel, just next to Xining Station. It is very convenient to check in when traveling. I have to say that the hotel service is very good. Zhuoma and Xiaoma at the front desk gave a bottle of hot mineral water after check-in. It was so considerate, despite the weather. It was very cold, and it stopped being cold all of a sudden. It must be praised! The breakfast coupon was given in the morning and the souvenir was given after the invoice was issued after leaving the hotel. It was a very pleasant stay.
