My stay at FX Hotel Tainan completely redefined my expectations for a budget hotel! The location is absolutely superb – Chihkan Tower and Guohua Street Food District are just a 10-minute walk away, and the Shennong Street cultural and creative area is also within easy reach. Just a left turn downstairs and you'll find a 7-Eleven; to the right, there are famous Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice) and beef soup restaurants. For late-night cravings, heading straight to Bao'an Road Night Market was pure bliss! ✨ The mattress had just the right firmness, and the bathroom featured a separate wet and dry area. 🚗 Transportation is incredibly convenient too! It's only an 8-minute drive from Tainan Railway Station. Overall, it's perfect for budget-conscious travelers who still value quality. They have kindly upgraded us to rooms next to elevator with balcony for better ventilation. Even at lower level the view of Taipei is unbeatable. We like the wooden floor much better. Because of renovation at the separate bldg, they’ve used strong aroma to cover the smell. That side has carpet floor which will suit some of the travellers. A few boutiques at main bldg, selling special fashion & accessories. Hope we could stay for longer next time to read the exhibition at V floor. Those are precious history of how the hotel has developed since 1940s. Buses to Jiantan only operates on weekends- we as Japanese cannot read the sign & waited in the wind for 10+ min. Luckily a lady asked the concierge & figured out what’s going on. We took taxi instead.

FX Inn Hotel in Kaohsiung offers a sense of comfort and tranquility. While the rooms are not luxurious in size, they are thoughtfully arranged—bright, clean, and well-kept. The bathroom and overall environment are equally spotless, with attention to detail that reflects genuine care. The service is another highlight. Staff members are consistently polite, wearing warm smiles and responding promptly to requests. Whether during check-in, check-out, or handling everyday inquiries, they go about their duties with professionalism and attentiveness, creating a truly welcoming atmosphere.

Very recommended place to stay, quite new. Their breakfast is good too most satisfied me is their location, just 3 mins walk to MRT station

For a hotel in Taiwan, the exterior is quite impressive, and the rooms are very large and spacious. They are fully equipped. However, the toilet is quite old, and the flush pressure is so weak that it often doesn't flush properly. Public transport access from the hotel is very convenient, with direct buses to the High-Speed Rail (HSR) station. There are also many local eateries nearby. For under 400 RMB in Taiwan, staying at this hotel offers excellent value for money.

We arrived at the hotel and were warmly welcomed by the staff, who directed us to park in the underground garage. Check-in was quick and easy, and the room was clean and spacious enough. Bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, close to Chiayi’s main sights, although there isn’t much to do immediately around the hotel itself.

The hotel offered free parking which is great but was a bit difficult to find the parking entrance due to the constructions going on around the hotel. Location was nice, in the city center and peaceful nearby. The buffet breakfast was amazing, a variety of choices from western cuisine to local cuisine. The room was clean and neat as well.

A few things in the hotel made me feel a little in Japan instead of Taiwan: - yukata available for use - bidet with seat warmer - LOTS of Japanese food options around (in the basement of the hotel as well as the Eslite building next to it) The staff are polite and friendly. Little/no problem with English but they have dedicated staff who can speak Korean and Japanese. We had the 2 double beds in the room to accommodate 2 adults and 2 toddlers (＜5yo). The room was spacious (about 33sqm) compared to the other hotels nearby. This time round, the room decor feels a bit more modern. It has the necessities (safe deposit box, water kettle, some mugs, tea and coffees). Mineral water is provided but there are also water dispensers are on the gym floor and another floor. The laundry room (only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer, both coin-operated ) is clean. Dryer can dry the clothes in 1 round. Detergent is free for use. However, there is no view from the room (we can see the other rooms from our room). Location is directly above the red & blue Taipei Main Station MRT and directly opposite the High Speed Rail station . The hotel is connected to the MRT and the HSR station via the basement but there is a stairs (about 15-20steps) so it’s not so stroller-friendly). Overall, we love the hotel and would come back if we visit Taipei again.

Sun Moon Lake is literally at the hotel's doorstep, so close you could practically fish from it. Ita Thao Pier is conveniently located right next door. The hotel's interior is entirely adorned with cypress wood, creating a delightful natural aroma throughout. Furthermore, both the cable car station and the main commercial district are just a short 10-minute walk away.

Pool was littered with debris from the strong winds. The water quality was good, but the pool staff could have done a better job at hauling out the debris at the deep end of the pool. The jacuzzi was a disappointment. The presence of greenish/yellowish algae in the water made the jacuzzi uninviting. The heater was turned off and will not be turned on until the third week of November. I was there during the last week of October. Every resort I stayed at had the jacuzzi heated despite the time of the year or the ambient air temperature. If it is the position of the management to not clean or heat the jacuzzi, then the jacuzzi should be covered up and blocked off. The breakfast buffet was horrible considering how much money they charged. I probably will not stay or recommend this hotel. It’s has a lot of potential!
