We were very impressed by the front of the house Zara, who engaged with us authentically and assisted with the checking-in process. She showed genuine interest in the customers and provided information appropriately.
The room was compact with all the necessities - I particularly like the space under the bed to put my open suitcase, and the ample options of mirrors.
One thing to complain about is that we could hear loud music from our room early in the morning (6.30-7am), which we suspected coming from the gym classes. Another thing is guests have to pay for parking.
Few niggles but fantastic stay overall especially the Spa service! Didn’t order food or try the restaurant so can’t comment on that.
Toilet facilities fully equipped with essentials you might be missing, like toiletries for women, dry shampoo and deodorant. I’ve never seen this at any other hotel I’ve stayed in, so it’s a nice touch!
Close to the station which is a bonus, a little walk to the city centre with plenty of places to eat.
I had a fantastic stay The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept better than I have in a long time. The room was quiet, clean, and cozy perfect for a good night’s rest. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Dusty surfaces in room and bathroom, rusty bin. I use a wheelchair and the room was large enough to negotiate around and bathroom adequate but there was a ledge going into bathroom and going out of room which was a struggle for my wheelchair and some of the other doors along corridors also has bumps. I told front desk so hopefully they will sort this for next guests.
We put card on door requesting breakfast in room about 10.30pm the night before but was not collected. They did, however, promptly provide breakfast when I rang reception and apologised and informed me she would report this.
Overall there were parts that looked a little dated and in need of a bit more care and attention such as redecorating. We didn't see the whole building but I hope the function rooms for weddings etc are of a better standard, maybe someone can verify? The bed was comfy and plenty of spare pillows and towels. Breakfast was nice. Bedroom freezing when we entered, no radiator but they had a Dyson electric fan which heated up the room after a while. I would stay here again but I would ring first to check they had sorted the ledge to bathroom first.
We stayed for 1 night at this hotel. The room was lovely and staff were friendly. I requested a room with a bath which we got. However there was no plug in the bath so it wouldn’t fill up. The reception was helpful at getting us a new plug tho. We also used the swimming pool which was lovey and very clean. Overall a good experience.
Spacious room, comfortable bed, good value for money, good buffet breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, yogurts...etc. Some fruit, there could be more variety, but in summary it was good. Parking is paid.
Can’t fault a thing, really lovely place to stay with little ones. They really looked after us with special touches, including a stunning play area and bedtime milk and cookies
A repeat visit to Norton Park Spa Hotel. I really enjoy the peaceful location with beautiful grounds where you can walk through woodland or sit on a swing gazing out at the lake.
The spa is perfectly acceptable - no idea why some have left bad reviews. Great sauna and steam room, plus real ice pile and strong, cold (or hot) shower available close to these two facilities which is great extra. Pool is big enough to swim laps (not just a token effort) and there are couple of heated, tiled loungers pool side too. I treated myself to a treatment of back massage and full body exfoliation with oil application, which was absolutely wonderful. Relaxation room after the treatment was welcome touch. I have used spas across the world at top hotels and this was up there with the best.
Restaurant is really high quality, certainly above my expectations of British hotel catering. The breakfast buffet has everything you could require - although it is self-service on the tea/coffee which I'd rather have served to table - plus you can order extras for free, like poached eggs and porridge, which are then cooked to order. There are also some pay-for extras if required. Dinner was even more fantastic - have eaten there four times in two stays and cannot fault.
As I was not travelling by car, the hotel was a bit far from the Southampton railway station. The bus passing by the hotel only ran once an hour, which was a bit inconvenient. However, the decoration of the hotel completely met my requirements. It was a very historic British building with a swimming pool. Breakfast was served in an old British space, which was a very refreshing start to a new day.
SStaceyI was a little bit disappointed staying at the Apollo hotel when I booked, i booked it for two adults and one child and when I got there there was only a double bed, they told me they would put in a single bed for me whilst I was out and when I got back to the hotel at 8:30pm there still wasn’t a bed they eventually at 10pm gave me a camp bed with springs missing for my four-year-old to sleep on I wasn’t happy, so in the end I ended up sleeping on the floor so my daughter could have the bed with her dad, it’s a real shame to see a hotel that I stayed in when I got married has gone downhill, there was a lot of dirty trays in the corridors on the way to the room, but on entrance of the hotel was beautiful,
GGuest UserBreakfast at the weekend doesn't start until 8.00am. We were playing a Pickleball Tournament on their Acrylic tennis courts and needed to digest our food before running around! The hot items weren't all out which was irritating. Bacon, sausages and eggs were missing. As soon as the eggs arrived they were gone because everyone was queuing. If it says breakfast starts at 8.00, then it should all be available on time! Pools are great, (one specifically for children and one for adults. Sporting facility was excellent. Free parking for hotel guests.
Bedroom was very clean and had everything one needed. No air con, but fan in cupboard. Magnifying mirror, iron & board, hairdryer.
I had to stay at the hotel to continue playing my tournament, but wanted to have a last swim to ease my muscles before driving home in a terrible heatwave. They said check out had been at 11.00am and I would have to pay £10! I thought that was rather steep so declined. There was hardly anyone in the pool and a small kind gesture after paying for 2 nights would have lifted my spirits and given a better impression. The pool was also only open from 8.00am. Far too late if people want a swim before breakfast.
Dogs seem to be allowed at the hotel in the bedrooms. 4 yapping dogs in one room is a bit much. Awful for the cleaners and I put the TV on to mask the noise!
Drinks and food quite expensive. Great Indian in the village!
It was great though being able to stay at the actual venue for the tournament. Cheaper through Trip com than the Tournament offer rate!

MMisisGIt was a great experience for us as a family, I have to booked 2 rooms to accommodate the family of four, everything was absolutely fantastic. Kids enjoyed the food. It was 9/10 stars for all, except that it took us so long to wait for the room that was interconnected with the other room. I was told at first that it was interconnected but then when we went in there it wasn’t. huge thanks to Ms. Nadia from the front desk who was there to help us and got everything sorted for 10 minutes.
The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly 😊 we will definitely be back again.
