Rydges Armidale, an EVT hotel

Excellent motel, clean and well appointed although our room did not have a luggage rack even though there was space for it - bit difficult to get things from a suitcase on the floor. Restaurant food was excellent although a bit on the pricey side - it would attract more mid week custom if prices were lower which includes drinks.

We stayed 3 nights in the smallest of rooms on offer at this property. The room was immaculately clean and well fitted out. It had a very comfortable double bed, table and 2 chairs, fridge and microwave as well as kettle, toaster and crockery. Shampoo and conditioner as well as soaps were provided. An ironing board was supplied on request. There is also a luggage rack, which was essential in such a small room. The room had a large air-con, which is also very important in a windowless room. The one downside was the size and lack of window in this room. This did not bother us at all for the first two nights, but by the third night I was feeling confined, so I would only recommend this room for a max 2 night stay. I would happily stay at any other rooms on the property though, as I'm told they were larger and have either windows or skylights. Very friendly staff and service was tops!

Well I just had to write another review of this motel. When I first visited this motel back in 2022 I have to say I was a long way from impressed and said I would more than likely never stay there again. Well as I was attending a trade even and the accommodation was booked by the company it just so happened they booked me in here. I was a little apprehensive but as I walked into reception I could tell that the establishment had completely upped their game, in reception anyway. Extremely fast, very friendly and efficient. I then went to my room and what a breath of fresh air the room I got was clean comfortable and even had its own espresso machine. Unfortunately for me being able to get a meal on site is a big deal and being a little bit out of town is a cross for me but hey that’s just due to the amount of driving I do and not wanting to go out when I arrive at my accomodation but that’s on me. I will stay there again I’m sure and the improvement is unbelievable.

As a couple attending a wedding, we chose to stay in the two bedroom apartment. It was more spacious than my Sydney apartment!! We relaxed in the peaceful atmosphere and enjoyed the best Armidale had to offer from our perfect location. Our hosts Alan and Melinda ensured our stay was comfortable, enjoyable and seamlessly relaxing. It was so lovely to return to the motel after shopping, dining out and attending the wedding reception. We are definitely returning for another enjoyable weekend.

Stayed 2 nights. Good clean room with a lot of space. Had all the amenities that we required. Pretty quiet considering that the Motel is on the main highway. The parking in front of one's room is super tight and rather small considering the size of vehicles these days. Good friendly staff. The area that the Motel is located isn't the best as the park nearby has the largest collection of shopping trolleys one would find outside a major supermarket. Either the city doesn't care about the apperance of the area or the local supermarkets have too much money and don't care about people taking their trolleys. Rather run down area and not that inviting.

A typical motel; single-storey with a space outside to park your car. Very light, IKEA-modern and clean inside. Microwave, fridge, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities, fresh milk supplied from reception. All the basic crockery, cutlery and glassware for two and (unusually) a table and 2 dining chairs, plus two easy chairs. There was a comprehensive file of maps, places to eat, walks, drives etc. I did the self-guided walk around the town in the early evening, which was really pleasant. Just a few issues: - there is a major error on the website in the description of a deluxe queen room, which was the type we stayed in. It states: “room size 11m2”. That means 11m long and 11m wide, which it most certainly wasn’t! The stated size must be amended, we would suggest to 11 square metres, which is far closer to reality. - the icebox needed defrosting - the bathroom extractor fan was very noisy - the towels were past their best, a bit thin and rough - the hinges on the bathroom door could do with oiling.
