Hotel Los Pasiegos

Everything works - the rooms are spacious, very clean and functional with comfy bed, wardrobe with safe deposit box and a decent fridge. The spa is good (not as fantastic as some of the reviews!) the sauna was great, two small jacuzzi tubs, 1x4 seat, 1x6 seat, a shallow pool with 3x recliners that emit bubbles, a spa pool with multiple jets, and sprays and a 12m swimming pool. This area is what set the hotel above ok. Location is not far from Santander, it’s a slip road off the motorway with a string of similar hotels, the sister hotel Nextdoor had a decent cafeteria and restaurant, excellent value. Our hotel had a small bar/ restaurant that served buffet dinner and breakfast - can’t comment on them as we only had coffee which was good. There are other hotels with restaurants and there is a supermarket not too far away. We missed out on trying the Michelin star restaurant about 15 minutes walk away - maybe next time 😊

The truth is that we have been staying some weekend a year there for more than 10 years. Mostly to disconnect. These years have changed things, better and worse... but this last time, I am quite surprised by the last changes. We have noticed that they have changed the quantity (in dinner) and quality (in breakfast) of the buffet. For example, at breakfast they have no longer the newly expressed juice machine, which I think was essential. The machine coffee... as any machine coffee... but that has never been good, the truth. In dinner, they have visiblely reduced the letter. It is to be stressed that quality is good and this is very rich. There are more and more events that make you very likely to match a wedding (for example), which makes many people see in the hotel. They also introduced more things to enjoy in the family. And the spa schedules seem to me right. Although there is no one who can make sure they are fulfilled, and you can pass like me, that the adult time had a family playing with a child ... Wi-Fi, years ago they changed it and the truth is that if you intend to see a movie in a The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. Negative things: - More and more concurred (especially events, which are incompatible with rest and disconnect) - Reduction of the offer of food at the dinner - No longer there is natural juice at breakfast. - With very slow WiFi (only to search for something on Google) I think it doesn't meet my deconnection goal, so we will personally search for other options.
Apartamentos Spa Villa Pasiega

We booked the apartments which are by the main hotel. The apartment was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed as a family of 4. We had a massive queen sized bed in main bedroom, with a separate room sort of bunk beds, as the bed pulled out from under the other so alot better than bunk style. Bed were so comfy and clean. The bathroom had a shower and a spa bath (kids loved this). Our room had robes to use for the spa and plenty of spare towels if needed. We hired a car as I did my research before we went as around 15minutes drive to beach which is stunning and a surfers paradise. 20minute drive to the local nature park which I highly recommend, with cable cars and full of all types of wildlife. Defiantly need a car to get round all the areas as I think it's 750 acres of park. The local luna supermarket had everything we needed as we stayed bed & breakfast. The breakfast was lovely, you need to ask for eggs, sausage & bacon as not self served as cooked fresh and pancakes too. But they offer continental style, lots of fruit, yummy cakes and croissants, variety of breads with a toaster, yogarts and fresh squeezed orange juice. The Spa in apartments was lovely, Our boys wanted to be in there everyday but could do a slight revamp in some parts. We went into the hotel spa which is amazing, so much to do in there with sauna, various jacuzzis styles, hottubs but after 7pm no children as adults only. It's a small village so not much to do here but very peaceful and the views from our Appartment were stunning mountain views. The staff were lovely and helpful throughout our stay. The only downside I would say is there do have parties of various styles at the hotel which we wasn't told about but we didn't mind as went for a drive out & explored the area. Would recommend as a true Spanish relaxation get away. We would recommend 👌
