Is it a fancy room? No Do they get the basics right? Definitely! Clean, perfect for a short stay. The best feature, without a doubt, was the service. Even though this location is unmanned, communication was seamless and really friendly. And really helpful! From helping me to find out how to get from the airport to the location (even called the bus company to check the timetable), to sending you a list of best places to eat in the area, or recommending how to organise your visit to the city.

There are things to improve that may cost money. I don't get in there. It's true that prices are very cheap and that more can't be asked. But there are things that are free and can give you the reverse to this business that has everything to win: 1) Knowing to delegate, as in the lucio home , the mayor has already to let the dresses be taken to the younger. (That man could teach us a hill of knowledge) 2) Basic hostel rules, repay drinks, ask customers if everything is okay, NOT put the second dishes at the same time. 3) Laugh+Education +Laugh+Laugh (comes on the pay ....we have a good day or not) 4) if I have a full dish I always come back with a vacuum 5) practice welcome and goodbye, both for whom asks for a nice and for whom asks for a cut.( The coffee may be back tomorrow for nice) 6)A mule for q the door of the hostel no cottages. 7) You have to try the food and watch every day if we pass from salt point .....for eg. I'm sure that the business reality is a lot of information I don't know. Carefully, A normal person who will come back next year to see you are the best of the a street Abstracts and strength My respect

El Ensanche Zona Nueva
It is located about a 15 minute walk to the main old town. It's cheap and the name is hostel, but it's a hotel with a private bathroom. There's also a bathtub. The soundproofing is a bit poor, but it seems unavoidable due to the characteristics of the old building. comfortable to stay

Old Town
It is convenient to location near the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, but the building is too old, the bathroom is narrow, the facilities are poor, and the bed is crooked, so it is very old. The owner was friendly but difficult to communicate.

Sound proofing not great as the wooden floors get creaky. But noise beats quiet eerieness. Good place to start for the last 100km of camino. Walkable to church and the pier area. Only 1 small convenience store nearby, so difficult to find supermarkets in Portugal.

When I first entered the room, I felt that the room was a bit small, but I think it’s impossible for a single room at this price to have such a big bed, so I feel relieved. The internal heating, bathroom and other conditions are very good, and the external environment is also very good. The scenic area of San Diego is very concentrated, which is an oval circle in the old city wall. However, the convent and the Galician museum are not far away from the circle. Both are good places. The former overlooks the old city. The hotel is just south of the old city wall. There is a straight road leading to the railway station. It takes 15 minutes to walk without luggage. The hotel can also help you book a day trip to the Morte coast (including Cape Fiesta at the end of the sea), a very affordable coastal tour, because the public transportation in the coastal area is not developed, and if there is no self-driving condition, you can go with a group tour It is the most convenient and most rewarding way to visit.

Two night stay at the end of our Camino. Perfect location in the center of old Santiago, mere steps from the cathedral. Lots of history in this is a restored old monastery and it retains its feeling of the austere life of the monks. Beds are not the most comfortable and the rooms have little if any modern additions (no tv in ours for example) It’s a very large property and hallways feel more like a hospital than a hotel, but this adds to the experience. Breakfast was barely ok. You’re not allowed to bring food out of the cafeteria (?). We are out so we did not get a chance to try the dining room. Service was very good.

Let's be honest, Hostal Denike is not a hostal at all, it is in reality a very good hotel, that would deserve either 4 or 5 stars! The location is excellent, just few minutes away from Santiago de Compostela cathedral and from the bus stop to/from the airport; notwithstanding its very central position, the accommodation is also very quiet, since the street is not on the usual tourists/pilgrims path. The room we were given was very clean and large, simply but efficiently decorated, although a small writing desk would make it even better, and the bed big and comfortable. Breakfast was simply great! The icing on the cake though was the service, extremely attentive, friendly and very much customer-oriented. Usually, in my reviews I don't single out individual staff as I try always to more as objective as possible, but for Begoña I must make an exception: her warmth and friendliness were exceptional and worth of a 5-star boutique hotel, making every guest feel special and pampered. Highly recommended!!

It was a little off putting when I first arrived as the entrance was in a small alley but I soon discovered a lot of hotels in Santiago are are like this, but it is a very nice hotel. Staff were nice and a really good breakfast. Not far from the old town and cathedral etc for sightseeing and close to non tourist shops for retail shopping. We got the bus from airport for €1 and it stopped close to hotel and it is a short walk, maybe 12 minutes from bus station. No outside space or bar which may disappoint others but we were not planning on spending our time in the hotel bar when there is so much else to explore nearby. Nice bar on corner next to hotel, fruit shop and supermarket just around the corner so very handy
