Regency House

Cambridge City Center
The hotel is a common self-service hotel in foreign countries. The landlord sends the password to the door. The room information and keys are placed on the first floor. In addition to the narrow corridor and no elevator, the sanitary conditions and environment are above average. It is located in Cambridge. On the edge of the city centre, walk to the main attractions for about 15 minutes; But the service 1 star is for Ctrip, the password of the hotel door I did not receive, the big night blowing at the door for more than half an hour, if someone came out from there, there would be no place to stay on the day; in the Ctrip hotel is to reduce Trouble, but Ctrip only mechanically transferred a travel guide to me. I didn’t have the responsibility to the customer. I couldn’t get it in a foreign call. Ctrip will at least transfer the hotel’s mail (and sometimes not) to the user. Otherwise, where is the agency fee charged?
Fourwinds B&B

We have just returned from a perfect 3 day stay with family at fourwinds and are already planning to go back as soon as possible. Half of our party stayed in the cabin which is surprisingly spacious. The bed and sofa bed are extremely comfortable and along with the lovely soft bedding ensured great quality sleep. The bathroom has a good sized shower with plenty of hot water and is really nicely done out. The remainder of the party camped and were really pleased with the generous sized plot. With easy access to electricity ( paid for with very reasonably priced cards) The provision of a bespoke fire pit was an excellent touch and really added to the evening atmosphere. We enjoyed days of non stop river fun, hiring out the canoes, the pedalo and the paddleboards. And we were also surprised to enjoy a swim in old man Nene! The atmosphere on the camp is incredible and we enjoyed playing cricket and rounders with other holidaymakers. Debbie, Hannah and the team are the perfect hosts. Extemeley welcoming, there if you need anything but by no means intrusive. They also put on a tasty, locally sourced breakfast at an excellent price. Highly recommended.

Some of the photos/reviews dont do the house justice. Yes in some areas its dated, but more importantly its clean and quite. Owner was incredibly friendly and happy to help however he could. Breakfast was continental with pleantly of choice so more than adiquate. Short walk in to town. I'm sure I'll be returning on my next visit! Only complaint was the pillows were a little firm for us: but thats preference!

If you have a car, this is a good choice. I arrived very late, but no problem. The separate washroom is outside the door, but it is very convenient. There is milk for breakfast, and the bread has rich sauces. The air is really fresh and a comfortable breakfast.

Likes: The price was eye catching. Location was around 20 minutes walk from the rail and bus station. 10-15 minutes walk to the main shopping area, restaurants, cathedral. Quiet location especially as my room faced the back of the hotel. No noise from other rooms on the floor. Room had basic tea / coffee making facilities. Not used, but there wa a microwave, plate / bowl, glass and cutlery for basic self catering in the room. WiFi worked well. Breakfast served from 05:00 - yes, that early! until 09:00 on a Sunday morning so presumably same for all other days. Was good size portion for the cooked breakfast. Cereals, toast, tea / coffee plus orange juice. Dislikes: · Whilst the room was low cost and for that the quality of the rooms, furnishing and bathroom was not exactly good. In need of redecoration, bathroom was in poor condition. Not particularly clean. The fridge in the room was running just to keep 6 x milk sticks for coffee / tea cold. I had to switch it off as it was very noisy when running.

This has to be one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at in many a year. We arrived 2 hours early and were given key to the room and a very nice young lady showed us the way and explained the facilities. The evening meals were excellent, portions very good and excellent quality food and drink, the lad who served us was pleasant and always smiling. Lovely nights sleep was followed by a super english breakfast and real coffee. What a way to finish the stay. We had a walk around the grounds and it is plain to see the grounds have been lovingly tendered with great furniture etc. We will be back.

The traditional British-style building is very British. Suitable for tourism and business travel. Although the door is not very big and the lighting was poor last night, it is in line with British cultural traditions. Breakfast was good!

The family hotel is in a good location, the facilities are average, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast is a little less, overall it is OK, but because the deduction problem is communicated by the waitress, but she is not so nice, saying that she has to wait for the manager to come back and take the baggage in the afternoon. The manager is very good, the problem is solved quickly, it is really a completely different service experience for different people.

I have never been more unsatisfied with an accommodation in all my life. I am not accustomed to leaving bad reviews – I am easy to please and I have only ever posted one negative review of a hotel or guesthouse before but I have to make an exception in this case. The way they treat guests here is disgraceful. I paid in advance in full the agreed price for a one-night stay but when I arrived I found I was unable to gain entry without the key which is accessible only by entering a code. However they refuse to inform you of this code unless you phone them (at a number they don't inform you of in advance - I had to obtain this number off a fellow guest who had the same issues when checking in that I had). Worse still, when you phone them, they refuse to tell you the code unless you consent to pay an ADDITIONAL £100 (that I had not been informed about in advance) as some sort of ”insurance fee”. They then request you to send them your name by SMS and at this point despite my assurances that I was not informed in advance about this £100 extra charge (which they say is refundable) they refused to believe that I had not been told about it in advance, implying that I was not telling the truth, which I resented as I knew that on the contrary I was telling the truth and furthermore I had encountered another guest who had had an identical experience to me the night before, and he also had been told nothing in advance about the room key and code being withheld unless you pay this extra £100. They DID NOT email me or notify me in any other way, and as you will see from many other reviews left online by disgruntled guests, I am far from being the only one. Also, as other guests who have left reviews have pointed out, there is NO representative on the premises to ask or deal with. This is a dereliction of duty, clearly motived by the same cost-cutting, financially-motived measures as their other decisions, at the expense of their guests safety and wellbeing. I was exhausted after travelling for 24 hours straight, and by now it was midnight, so I agreed to their demand for more money in order to be allowed to finally go to my room - the room I had paid for in advance remember. I asked if I could pay the additional £100 fee in the morning, and they refused, they insisted it be paid in full before I went to bed. It ended up taking me until 2am in the morning to arrange the payment, with a very complicated system which involved having to exchange SMS messages back and forth with a member of staff and requesting all manner of codes which was a huge hassle in the state I was in. However, I paid their additional fee and thought that was the end of it and that I might be allowed to finally have some peace for the few hours I would be staying there. Which made it all the more annoying that the following morning, a member of staff came to my room and banged on the door at 11.00am on the dot - checkout time was 11am but I thought they might have waited even 2 min
