A Casa di Paola Suite

This is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet and there is excellent wifi connectivity. The building is organised around a shady courtyard and is full of fascinating antiques and art. You are only c. 10 minutes walk from the station, a huge choice of places to eat and shop and also most of the main UNESCO sites - which are simply wonderful. At breakfast there is a wide choice of food and great coffee. Our hosts were very friendly, extremely helpful and made us welcome. I truly can't think of any negatives. We will certainly stay there again.
Central City Rooms

Bologna City Center
The hotel is located in the back seat of the Central Railway Station and walks straight on the left for several hundred meters. There is a small parking lot in front of it. There should be many other hotels in the same building. The intercoms of the buildings have different names. The corner of the street happened to be the turn of the leading car, and the gas station was diagonally opposite. Recognize these signs. Because several street names there are almost the same, I wandered around and looked for it for a long time. The hotel owner is a tall and handsome young man who may have seen me from the surveillance. Every time I come back, I will meet him to lead the way, help, and skim a little English. , The attitude is very good. The hotel is clean and concise, tea bags and coffee machines are readily available, which is highly recommended!

Last Minute Ferrara

I stayed one night in this property with my daughter. We booked the Junior suite, a room that can comfortably accommodate 3 people because it has both a double and a single bed. Many positive aspects. Very large rooms, huge bathroom, clean, which reflects what is described in the presentation. The staff were very kind and helpful. They welcomed us in the morning even though check-in was from 3pm, so we could leave our luggage and start the visit immediately without further delays. The area is very quiet and we found free parking nearby. From the Last Minute you can reach Palazzo Diamanti in a few minutes' walk and the historic center in a quarter of an hour. Absolutely honest price. advised
Bed & Breakfast Centrale

This was a small operation on the third floor of a building very close to the train station, as the name suggests -- why I chose to stay here – and because photos showed the room as a fairly spacious double, with a handy single bed to spread out my stuff. The room faced the street and was rather noisy at times. That wasn’t so bothersome but … although there were “no smoking” signs, the hallway reeked of a sickening cigarette smoke. The listing may have mentioned it, but there was no in-room private bathroom; instead, I was offered a “private” bathroom down the hall, which turned out to be a major hassle. The WIFI was good enough though it wasn't connecting 100% of the time. Other than that, my two-day stay was fine enough. The room came with a comfortable bed and everything I needed, including a refrigerator, and the proprietor was very helpful. I was offered a free coffee and a brioche each morning which, I was told, wasn’t always provided with reservations made through ******* (true or no, I was offered a lot more breakfast elsewhere during my trip across Northern Italy ... while paying less). All in all, given the fairly high price paid, I think I might have found more suitable lodging near Bologna Centrale. I struggled to give this review four stars; reading reviews by other guests got me there.

After a tiring search to locate a place to stay in Bologna that was convenient and close to the train station, we were lucky to find this gem that was a 10 minute walk to the train and about a 20 minute walk to the center. Alessandro was great in welcoming us after a 10 hour flight from the US and showed us to our spacious and comfortable room. The next morning Alessandro had an array of breakfast items ready for us in the kitchen room next door. This is was perfect stay in a quiet neighborhood away from the boisterous historic center. I would stay here again if I was in Bologna!

Gelso Bianco Country Resort

Gelso Bianco—where luxury meets laid-back charm, and the showers could double as alien technology. We stayed in not one, but two rooms. First, the lovely Luisa: charming, cozy, and home to the shower that NASA may want back. You’d better be ready for an instructional lesson here. My husband adored it, happily playing intergalactic shower pilot while I watched him experiment with buttons and levers, possibly trying to communicate with Mars. Then there’s Gelso—the room. Let’s just say, Luisa is cute, but Gelso is her fabulous, more spacious older sister. The bathtub in Gelso? Not saying it’s what lured us there, but it didn’t hurt. Now, on to the real star: the food! Upon arrival we mentioned about being hungry and the owner surprised us with snacks and a refreshing lack of culinary ego: “I don’t know how to cook, but I know where everything is in the kitchen.” And they know how to stock the kitchen for dinner, because everything that came out of that kitchen was, in a word, fantastic. Special shoutout to Mario—the young server on his path to becoming a sommelier. This guy is a walking encyclopedia of wine, which he charmingly used to get us tipsy by the first half of dinner (we asked for it). His passion for wine made our tastebuds (and heads) buzz with excitement. If you’re looking for a countryside escape with quirky charm, unforgettable food, and a young sommelier who could make a glass of water feel like a tasting experience, Gelso Bianco Country Resort is the spot. Just bring your sense of adventure (and maybe a manual for that shower).
B&B Selvarossa

Savena
Being an apartment and needing two rooms, we were able to enjoy the entire apartment just for us. Well furnished, I found it amusing to have to get hold of the keys by unlocking codes to various boxes. The apartment is equipped with every need (there is also a washing machine and dryer available). There are also mosquito nets which I never find either in hotels or B&Bs and which are fundamental for me! Breakfast is made up of single-dose products (snacks, biscuits, biscuits, etc.) and in the fridge there is what you need (milk, juice, water, butter, etc.). Clean environments and helpful owner (even if we only ever spoke via phone). Now, if I can give two little pieces of advice: 1-I didn't like the camera present in the common areas (which I knew nothing about) which I was told was deactivated, but which for greater zeal, we covered. 2- upon arrival you will find a leaflet with all the information on the B&B and how to get around Bologna; a very detailed and well-made booklet that I appreciated, but considering the tiredness of the journey, I would have liked a short verbal explanation, rather than having to read everything to understand how to operate the wall fans! For the rest, a B&B to recommend for those who want to stay in Bologna without spending a lot on parking and arriving in the center with the transport available in the immediate vicinity!
Il Contado -Room and Breakfast-

When you offer a proposal like this you can't help but be successful... Ancient structure, surrounded by greenery just a stone's throw from the village.... Attended to down to the smallest details with great taste and expertly managed by Lorenzo.... Impeccable host.... kind, with refined manners, smiling and available for a very pleasant conversation.... Our room boasted great taste in the furnishings, bright despite being in an attic, perfectly clean and very large... At ”Contado” I truly felt at home and this is the best compliment I can give.... Another special mention for the breakfast that was organized by Lorenzo according to our tastes and very generous in quantity and quality.... What else to say? Passing through the area we will see each other again without a doubt!!! The road is right, dear Lorenzo, you will receive the success you deserve!
