Hikkaduwa Hostels

It was the amazing place i have visited. Had a great welcome from front line staff. Room is perfect and had a great view. Dinner and breakfast was amazing and very tasty. Breakfast bufet had a wide selection of western and local food. I requested to arrange a birthday cake at the breakfast time and they were arranged a tasty cake with special birthday surprise. Overall can be give 10 out of 10.

This is clearly an old hotel which has renovated some rooms which are bright and as shown on photos. However much more renovation and maintenance is needed. The lift was not working and from reviews has not worked for many months. The black floor tiles are worn down to the white porcelain in the most used areas. The stair walls are dirty. The restaurant is fully glass windows and in need of cleaning as are the corridor windows. There were only 10 sunbeds for a hotel with 50 rooms ! No sunshade so you try to get in the shadow of the palm trees. The paving area around the pool is in need of power washing. The pool changing room/toilet walls are in need of painting. Bed sheets and towels were changed only 3 times in 2 weeks when we requested them to be changed. The toiletries are not often replaced. The shower glass doors are not cleaned nor are the room doors to the balcony or the glass panels on the balcony. Tea and coffee making facilities not always replaced and we never got coffee sachets. The second floor housekeeping cupboard door is badly damaged and gives a feeling of neglect. This hotel could be ranked higher if more money is invested and renovation/maintenance undertaken. The hotel is used by Russian charter holiday customers. The hotel allow day entry travelling parties to enter who use the pool in their outdoor wear. On a positive note the staff are courteous and helpful

The Hotel staff are what makes this such a lovely place to stay . It does need a bit of TLC in places( our bathroom could’ve done with an upgrade) but overall our room was comfortable and clean . We had a top floor room with a fabulous view of the Indian Ocean. There was always a good choice of food in the restaurant every day and the staff were always helpful- special mention to Chinthaka who was always so attentive to us and made the dining experience so much more enjoyable - Thank you ! He is a real asset to the hotel . Also a mention to Gerard in the restaurant . The hotel location is great- direct access to the beach and across the road from a large supermarket . We would definitely go back - It was a lovely experience and we would recommend to anyone for a relaxing and value for money holiday .

We had the most magical stay at Villa Saffron and it couldn't have been more perfect. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! It's such a beautiful place - both the villa itself and the setting are spectacular. The room, shared areas and garden were always very clean and tidy, and we ended up spending far more time in the villa and garden than we had planned because it was just so idyllic. We were in the Garden Room which was lovely and spacious, and there was always enough hot water for the showers (the only place we stayed in Sri Lanka where the hot water didn't run out!). There was some noise from the road which didn't bother us and the air con blocked it out, but if you are a light sleeper maybe choose one of the other beautiful rooms. The food was fantastic, with such a great range of options. We even arranged to have a cookery lesson with the chef so we can replicate the great Sri Lankan food at home! We were so well looked after the whole time we were there. Sunil and his team did a fantastic job of looking after us - it felt more like staying with an old friend! They were always very attentive and went out of their way to make our stay special. This was the last hotel we stayed in on our honeymoon in Sri Lanka, and I mentioned my disappointment at how none of the other hotels had done anything special. Sunil and the team decorated our room with flowers, and we had a romantic sunset dinner on the beach. It was the perfect way to end our honeymoon and it couldn't have been better! I only wish we could have stayed longer. If you're staying around Hikkaduwa, make sure you stay here. You won't regret it. Thank you so much Sunil and the team, we can't thank you enough ❤️

The hotel is an old star hotel. The big hotel that is relatively far away will be much quieter. The swimming pool will not be like dumplings, there is a private beach, breakfast 48 yuan is not worth it, nothing to eat, every day depends on eating fruit. The staff is good, they all smile, and the beaches of the turtles are very close. The nearby MAMAS is also good for eating.

My family and I stayed at Roman Beach for the month of February. Having been to Sri Lanka many times, this was the first time we had stayed at a boutique hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to be on a quieter side of Hikkaduwa, slightly away from the crowds but only a short walk from the bars/ restaurants and shops. It feels very private. The decor is beautiful throughout the hotel with gorgeous furnishings, all creating a very cosy, relaxing vibe. The rooms are spacious and bright with an amazing-sized balcony, all with an outstanding sea view. The beds are super comfortable and all the room amenities make it feel extra special. The hotel has a high level of cleanliness throughout and the housekeeping staff do an excellent job in the rooms. Attention to detail is superb in all areas. The pool is very well maintained and provided lots of fun for my baby boy. The pool staff, especially Sugath do an excellent job. My baby is still asking for him. His kindness will not be forgotten. Every staff member went above and beyond to make our stay feel extra special. Warune the manager was very attentive, he would go out of his way every day to make sure my family was comfortable. Supan the chef is very talented at what he does. We ate the best food we have ever tasted in Sri Lanka. We recommend the Sri Lankan Curry as it’s absolutely delicious! The restaurant staff were all excellent and again my baby will miss Bhagya, Udshion and Akalanka. Kelanee on reception is very polite and caring. Christi is also a lovely man, we can’t thank him enough for his kindness. The hotel really does have a nice atmosphere and I believe the staff are to thank for this. If you are looking for a warm welcome and want to be made to feel like family, do not hesitate to book Roman Beach. You will not be disappointed. We will certainly be back!

The most amazing week at Riff, Hikkaduwa! If you are looking for the perfect get away to enjoy the beautiful Sri Lankan coastline, then make sure to book in at Riff Hikkaduwa. The bright and airy lobby welcomes you to the hotel, with views of the infinity pool and ocean greeting you as you arrive. A nice fresh fruit juice was given to us as we checked in, before being shown to our rooms. The focus on sustainability and natural feel is evident throughout the hotel. With lots of natural light and soothing decor. The rooms are large and spacious and well stocked with all the amenities that you require. Laundry prices are very reasonable and our room attendants did a fantastic job at keeping our room clean and tidy during the stay. Throughout the stay we were welcomed by the amazing staff, Bashiyna was one of the ladies who was our waitress throughout and her beautiful smile and warm personality made our breakfasts, lunches or dinner a delight. The menu offers a selection of Western and local dishes giving plenty of options to try. The Japanese restaurant on the roof top provides high quality dishes for all tastes! The staff on reception were very help in arranging a few tours for us, one to Galle and one to Udawalawe National Park. Both drivers were very kind and a wealth of information about what we were seeing and explaining local traditions and cultures to us. They also arranged our return journey to the airport in Colombo. The hotel is on the beach, meaning that you can easily go for walks down the beach to surf or visit Turtle Beach. As we were statying over New Year, we were lucky to be part of the NYE celebrations at the hotel. The hotel provided an amazing evening, with a extensive buffet, drinks, music and traditional dances. All the staff worked so hard to pull off the evening, and we are grateful for their efforts. Every member of staff, from the owner, general manager, waiters/ waitresses etc were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We left feeling like friends! The hotel had a mixture of families and couples staying, making it the perfect get away for everyone. We left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, We will definitely be returning to this incredible hotel

The Tamara Motels,we just remember this name for the best place in Hikkaduwa. Before we went their we heard and read lots of comments and reviews about this motel. When we come over there we realized yes everything is true. We have stay for a three days for at this hotel. Stepping through the garden, i was immediately struck by the beautiful and friendly reception area. Light, airy and very spacious...very welcoming atmosphere. The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. This is a family business doing by mother son his wife and cute little baby. They always greeting and smiling to us. They are very helpful and give us the best option for everything we need. The breakfasts were amazing. It is not like other breakfast we had. Bread toast and omlet in it. Its very delicious.The location of the hotel is great. The room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials. I have no hesitation in recommending this place to the tourists who want to go to Hikkaduwa. Will be back to this place soon..!!!

Этот отель выбирали по отзывам и не ошиблись, на самом берегу океана. Прием был замечательный, предложили приветственные напитки, заселение прошло в 2 часа дня. Обслуживание на хорошем уровне, все, что просишь, стараются сразу помочь. Номера убирают качественно и каждый день! Еда вкусная(у нас были завтраки), но за отдельную оплату можно есть по меню. Девушки на ресепшен всегда приветливые. Я однозначно рекомендую отель.нетми очень милая девушке
