No.9 Hostel Kanchanaburi
4.6/56 Reviews
Stayed here for 3 nights in one of the six bed dorms. Immediately on entering the hotel, there is a guest area with chairs & tables with the reception behind. The staff was very welcoming on check-in and the whole process was pretty straight-forward. There’s a 200 deposit for a swipe card for entry into the hotel and keys for the locker. I was given a tour of the kitchen, bathrooms and the dorms. I think there are two dorms with six beds each, arranged capsule style. There was a locker assigned, but it was too small to fit my medium-sized backpack, so that went on the floor while valuables went in the locker. There’s no window in the room, but it was large enough that it didn’t get humid when the AC was on. The bunk had an electrical point, a privacy light and privacy curtains. The mattress was medium firm i.e soft by Asian standards. I slept comfortably all 3 nights. The two shared bathrooms each have a toilet. I only used one of the bathrooms during the stay and it was superbly clean. Shampoo and liquid soap are both supplied from the dispensers. The shower worked well and I had no trouble getting warm water. I didn't try getting hotter water as the weather was insanely hot. Location wise, the hostel is south of Kanchanaburi train station. There’s plenty of bars, restaurants, Thai massages and shops on that street, although it’s far enough down the street that it’s quiet. Overall, I had a fantastic style. I think the hostel is new as that's how everything looks. I only ever saw one staff member on duty and she was great. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I would have no hesitation in staying at No. 9 Hostel again or recommending it to anyone.

Went to Erawan, so I lived in Kanchanaburi. The staff was very friendly. I left my glasses in the hotel. The staff called me to remind me. I arrived around 3 pm and wanted to tour the surrounding attractions and hotels and called for a taxi. The price is very affordable. 10 minutes walk from Kanchanaburi Station. The room was clean, industrial style and beautiful.
Dheva Mantra Resort

The setting with grounds flowing down to the river is idyllic. The hotel itself is quite grand at first blush, but lack of maintenance and limited housekeeping soon becomes noticeable. Our room was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool and the river. Lack of a screen door meant you had to run the AC and keep the door closed to keep out mosquitos. Annoyingly out room was half a step up from the hallway and the large bathroom was half a step down. A bit of a tripping hazard and not suitable for a wheelchair user or any one with any mobility limitations. 2 beds had been pushed together to create a double but that meant the headboards did not line up with the bed or the single bed side table. Beds were comfortable, AC and internet worked fine. The whole place was passably clean but plenty of dust and insect casing were present on higher walls and surfaces. Breakfast was ok not great. Coffee was a little odd. Beautiful gardens but not convenient to town. Neigbouring property throws loud parties so noise could be an issue. Towels were threadbare but sheets were nice. We left housekeeping a tip anyway figuring people had been hard up during Covid. No nearby dining so captive audience situation at dinner as town is hard to get to. The rice barge dining room floating on the river was delightful as was the pool. Quite a lot of contradictory experiences in a single stay but could be splendid - having said that rates were fairly inexpensive.
V1 Boutique Hotel

It is more suitable for business, within a three-minute walk from the bus station, newly opened, clean and odorless, the room is a little small. If you are traveling, it is recommended to stay by the river, which is over 200 with a swimming pool and a direct water platform.
Good Times Resort Kanchanaburi

This is a 3 star resort with a 5 star service. A hidden gem tucked in narrow alley. Don't get fooled by the simple entrance/reception. Amazing service and hospitality by resort owner, Chalee. The resort it self very quiet and secluded but yet close to all amenities. Breakfast was awesome for a 3 star. We usually don't eat at hotels but their restaurant food was so good, that we ended dining there most of the time and affordable too. Rooms are big and clean. One big pool and one small pool to choose from. We will definitely consider this place again.
Baan APA Erawan Resort

New hotel with a variety of activities to choose from, such as natural swimming pool, kayaking, mountain view, beautiful garden in the hotel, suitable for taking pictures. Cars can be parked next to the house, making it very convenient to pick up things. The balcony is wide, and there are many types of seats to choose from. I recommend you to try staying here.
