The location is super convenient, right near Tsim Sha Tsui MTR. The staff, Linda, is so welcoming and friendly. The dorms are pretty clean, but a bit dusty on the floor and under the bed. There's a chill common area, though the building's a bit old and outlets are limited. One bummer: the bed sheets and blanket had a pretty strong, unchanged smell. They should always wash them for the next visitor.

Location: Right next to the Broadway Cinematheque, and within walking distance of West Kowloon Station. Perfect for catching a movie. Environment: For a single room costing around 300 for a night, I didn't have high expectations. However, there was a damp smell in the room, and behind the curtain on the windowsill, there was a bottle of drink left by a previous guest that I didn't touch. If the cleaning staff isn't careful, future guests might also find this bottle of lemon tea. Facilities: The hot water seemed to be provided by a small water heater. Unless it's summer and absolutely necessary to shower, I really didn't want to use this bathroom. The hostel provides disposable towels and a hairdryer, but you'll need to bring your own toothbrush, slippers, and other toiletries. Overall, accommodation in Hong Kong isn't great value for money. But if you're only staying for a night or two and the location works for you, I'd still recommend it.

Great location, very convenient for transportation and lots of food options. Easy to get anywhere. Downstairs and nearby, there are delicious wonton noodles, fish ball soup, pizza, and more. It's also convenient to take a taxi to Victoria Peak, and close to Causeway Bay and Lan Kwai Fong. The location is truly excellent!

The location wise is good the airport bus drop off point just infront of the building. Nearby there are a few famous eateries and train station is just less than 5 mins walk. Amenities and room cleanliness all ok. The staff service as good and they were friendly as wel.

The location is super great. You’ll see restaurants nearby. Bakehouse is just few steps away from Haiphong Mansion. There’s a michellin restaurant as well and everything you need. TST MTR is just in front of the hostel. The host is very friendly. Tho they don’t speak well in english but they did their best to accommodate and help me. They even allow my luggage to stay at the 13th floor for more than 8 hours for free. Usually they only allow it for 4 hours. After 4 hours you need to pay for it. That’s what I understand. Anyways, I will book this place again once I’ll get back to HKG. Thanksss

First things first: you absolutely, positively, undeniably MUST bring 500 units of cash, whether it's RMB, USD, or HKD. Or, make sure you have a Visa or Mastercard. Otherwise, you'll be stuck staring blankly at the front desk staff late at night... Also, bring a universal travel adapter with UK plugs or a USB cable (make sure the end connecting to the adapter isn't Type-C!). If you're bringing a plug, don't expect to plug one adapter into another; the charging space isn't wide enough... The room is very spacious, and while the facilities are simple, they are complete. The environment is clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel is converted from an old public housing estate, so it has significant historical value; you can learn about the estate's history on the first floor. Of course, the location and accessibility are top-notch. The hotel restaurant's food is definitely worth trying. I believe their milk tea or sandwich is a signature item (don't be mad if I remembered incorrectly!), so don't miss out!

The lady at the front desk was incredibly kind and genuinely helpful. When I needed shampoo, she gave me a very generous amount! She even patiently showed me how to use the water heater. A huge thanks to her, and I wish her all the best in her work and everything she does! The room was very tidy, and the bedding was clean and comfortable. I'm really satisfied, five-star rating all around!

Depends on your purpose for visiting this area, you may or may not find this hostel convenient. I chose this hostel solely because I planned to check out Tai O and do an early morning hike up Lantau Peak. There’s actually not much in the area except the Giant Buddha, the beautiful monastery, and the Wisdom Path if you choose to include it. This is the only hotel/hostel in the area. There’s no supermarket or convenience store nearby, so I highly suggest bringing plenty of food and drinks before arriving. You might also want to bring your own slippers! The hostel has a water purifier, hot and cold showers, a microwave, fridge, a spacious kitchen, and other essentials. I didn’t cook during my stay—I bought food from Tai O instead. Nonetheless, it was super convenient for me since I like to go slow and enjoy things at my own pace. Note that a membership fee of 150 HKD is required, and there’s also a refundable deposit of 500 HKD, unless you damage something on the property. Karen and Mark were super nice—I had a great chat with both of them!

LLingchuanwangxianzhiExcellent location! Right outside Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, and only a 200-meter walk to the Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui Harbour, and Victoria Harbour. There are tons of great food options and convenience stores like 7-Eleven and Sasa nearby. The room was clean, well-ventilated, and comfortable, and the price is usually quite good too.

XXS YangLocation Inside Haiphong Mansion, right in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui. Harbour City, Nathan Road, Kowloon Park, and the Star Ferry are all within walking distance. The MTR station is just minutes away, making it easy to explore both Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Room & Comfort I stayed for three nights. The single room is very tiny and has no window, but it feels cozy if you don’t mind the compact space. Linens were fresh, the layout efficient, and the air-conditioning was excellent — strong and reliable, which made the stay comfortable. The toilet was clean, and there was a multi-type power socket by the bed, great if you forget to bring a travel adapter. If you’re tall, the bed may feel restrictive as you can’t fully stretch out your legs. Amenities Facilities are simple: air-conditioning and Wi-Fi. No kettle in the room. Guests receive a single-use towel, shampoo, and shower gel every day, which keeps things hygienic and straightforward. Room slippers and bathroom slippers are provided. The Wi-Fi was fast and stable. Outside the room, there’s a water dispenser (hot and room-temperature only, no cold water) and a microwave oven free to use. Hot water for showering is available anytime. Hangers and a hair dryer are provided. Daily room cleaning is carried out, which keeps the space fresh. With plenty of food nearby, dining is easy and varied. Check-in Late check-in is allow here till 1am but after 12am need to inform the owner early. The front desk isn’t 24-hour, so arrivals after normal hours require coordination. This can be inconvenient for late-night travelers, but manageable if arranged in advance. Service The owner is genuinely nice and friendly, which makes a big difference in a guesthouse setting. Staff were helpful, making the process smooth once checked in. Allow to store your baggage before check in and out so you can explore in peace. Atmosphere The surrounding streets are lively, while the inn itself feels cozy. Some noise may filter through, but overall the vibe is casual and welcoming — closer to a homestay than a hotel chain. Building & Access The lift system in Haiphong Mansion is split between odd and even floors. Joyce Inn is located on the 5th floor, so you’ll need to use the lift serving odd-numbered levels. Verdict Joyce Inn is about location and value. Clean, affordable, and right in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui’s energy. Best suited for solo travelers or couples who prioritize convenience over amenities. My three-night stay was comfortable overall — I appreciated the daily room cleaning, the fresh toiletries, the friendly owner, the strong air-conditioning, the clean toilet, the multi-type socket by the bed, the fast Wi-Fi, the abundance of food nearby, the free microwave oven, the provided slippers, the hot shower anytime, and the hanger and hair dryer. The price was about 80 SGD per night, which is acceptable, though I do hope it could be a little cheaper. The single room’s size and lack of window may not suit everyone, especially taller guests, but it worked well for me.

GGuest UserI guess this is what people mean by “you get what you pay for.” The bathroom was so small that I could barely use it, let alone take a proper shower. And, there was no liquid soap in the bathroom. During the two days I stayed there, I ended up using the public restrooms outside instead. There was basically no hot water for showering. Throughout the night, people were talking loudly and slamming doors, so getting proper sleep was impossible, and in the morning, the noise started all over again. But then again, it is Hong Kong, so it is unfortunately very hard to find a comfortable and affordable hostel unless you are willing to spend a lot of money. After two days, I just went back to Shenzhen so I could stay in a hotel where I could actually shower properly and use the bathroom comfortably.

GGuest UserThe worker was genuinely kind and incredibly helpful. The facilities, however, were subpar. There was only one proper accessible shower, and the other required walking through a toilet area - meaning anyone using the toilet could access the shower. Space was extremely tight overall, so it’s not ideal for anyone who values comfortable room to shower or do anything that requires a bathroom. Very very tight space in the bathroom area, however they provided free toothbrushes and earplugs. The lobby and rooms were well set up with head towels and clean blankets in the bedroom, and the Japanese-style lobby was a pleasant touch. The lockers were secure with keypad access. I do recommend this if you intend to stay for one night as there’s a convenience store below, easy access to the MRT, very close proximity to the water front, and a Starbucks within 5 minutes walk.

GGuest UserThis was my second stay, and this time I came with my family. The location is truly excellent, making it convenient to get everywhere. We walked to West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station in about 15 minutes. The cleanliness, as always, was impeccable. Our room was cleaned and towels were replaced on both nights of our stay. My family was particularly pleased to return from Disney and find the room so neatly tidied. As my mom commented, the duvet was really substantial, and the sheets were pristine white, showing the owner's attentiveness. Furthermore, the lady at the front desk provided excellent service, patiently communicating with my elderly parents. We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Hong Kong.

AAnonymous UserI recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and overall, it was an excellent experience that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and professional service provided by the staff. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the front desk personnel were very welcoming, attentive, and helpful in answering all my questions. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was extremely comfortable, with soft linens and quality pillows that made it easy to relax after a long day. I also appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided, including complimentary toiletries, a well-stocked minibar, and reliable high-speed Wi-Fi. The room design was modern and elegant, creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere throughout my stay. One of the highlights of my experience was the hotel’s cleanliness and attention to detail. Housekeeping did an excellent job maintaining the room daily, ensuring everything was tidy and fresh. The common areas such as the lobby, hallways, and dining spaces were equally well-kept, which reflected the hotel’s commitment to high standards. The hotel’s facilities were also impressive. The restaurant served a wide variety of delicious dishes, and the breakfast selection was especially satisfying, offering both local and international options. The amenities, including the fitness center and other recreational facilities, were well-equipped and convenient for guests who want to relax or stay active. In terms of location, the hotel is very convenient and accessible. It is situated near key attractions, restaurants, and transportation options, making it an ideal choice for both leisure and business travelers. Despite being centrally located, the environment remained peaceful and comfortable. What truly made my stay memorable was the exceptional customer service. The staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure guests felt comfortable and valued. Their friendliness, professionalism, and willingness to assist made a significant difference in my overall experience. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service. It offers great value for money and provides a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel at home. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to my next visit.

GGuest UserIt's okay, but it's a bit awkward when you come home late at night and the guard is sleeping by the roadside. There's no 24-hour front desk, but there is a guard sleeping by the side. If you're not too picky, it's fine. The room is small, just enough. The location is great, right outside the MTR station and bus station in the TST area. Free water and they even provide an adapter and a dipper.

KKonstantin ProtasovWe stayed at this place in Chungking Mansions for 5 nights. We booked a room for two with separate beds and windows on two sides, which was a big plus — having windows made it possible to ventilate the room, which is not always common in this building. The room and the guesthouse overall were clean, which we really appreciated. The location is also very convenient, close to the waterfront in Kowloon and within walking distance of everything you might need. There are a few downsides to consider. The bathroom is extremely small and not very ergonomic — the toilet is positioned in such a way that when you sit on it, your legs extend outside the bathroom, making it impossible to close the door. It’s hard to imagine how three people could comfortably stay in this room. The water heater in the shower worked fine, but the hot water supply is limited. Wi-Fi is available, though not very stable. There are hot and cold water dispensers in the hallway, which is convenient. The room also has air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a TV. A nice detail is the storage space under the beds — it’s quite spacious and practical for luggage. Overall, the price is quite low, and if you’re traveling on a budget, this can be a good value for money, especially considering the location.
