The West Side YMCA is definitely a no frills place to stay, but the location is excellent. You're right next to Central Park and Columbus Circle. Times Square is an easy walk south. We stayed in 2 different rooms. The first had a bunk bed and was quite small, but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. It also had a small TV and fridge. We had a semi-private bathroom, which was down the hall. This meant we had to scan our key on one of the bathroom doors to get in, but once inside we had privacy while we got cleaned up. The bathrooms were kept clean and tidy. We were able to upgrade the second half of our stay to a room with a larger bed and an in room bathroom. Again, this hotel is no frills. It can be rough around the edges, but it's clean and comfortable at the end of a long day of sightseeing. We did not have time to take advantage of the gym, the pool, the sauna, and stuff like that, but they looked nice. I'd recommend the West Side YMCA. If you're visiting NYC, you should be out doing stuff, not sitting around the room. It was everything we needed it to be.

During my week-long stay at Hi New York hostel from December 14th to 21st, I found the overall experience to be quite enjoyable. The check-in process was seamless, thanks to the ever-present front desk staff who were helpful and efficient, ensuring a smooth start to my stay The proximity of the canteen and cafeteria next to the reception area added to the convenience. The cafeteria offered a delightful selection of freshly baked goods and various beverages, making it a pleasant spot to unwind. While I explored nearby Bodegas for budget-friendly groceries, the hostel's public kitchen became my go-to for preparing breakfast and dinner. Although the communal kitchen occasionally suffered from post-use neglect, the dedicated hostel staff ensured it remained clean and well-equipped. The cleanliness of the shared facilities extended to the toilets, which were consistently well-maintained and stocked with amenities. This attention to hygiene contributed significantly to a positive overall experience. Despite booking a bed in a 12-bed room, I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and the daily cleaning routine carried out by the diligent hostel staff. Adding to the positive experience, the Hi New York hostel's location proved to be exceptionally convenient for exploring major destinations. The hostel's close proximity to a subway station, just a 2-minute walk away, made traveling around the city a breeze. This accessibility enhanced the overall convenience of my stay, allowing me to easily reach and explore various attractions without any hassle. The strategic location near the subway station was undoubtedly a valuable asset for anyone looking to make the most of their time in the city. In essence, Hi New York hostel provided a comfortable and budget-friendly accommodation option with its friendly staff, convenient amenities, and well-maintained communal spaces. My stay was marked by a harmonious balance of affordability and quality service.

is ok, fairly clean, friendly and helpful stuff, 24 hours reception, can check-in at any time. next to the train track, very noisy, AC inside the room but makes noise, you cannot sleep without earplugs, unless terribly tired like I was. Felt very safe in the area, I arrived at 02:00 am using the subway, and left 03:00 am with no problems. shop right next to the hostel. across the road other shops for food which are cheaper, only a short train ride to the main attractions. Large kitchen, 2 large fridges, pool table, large seating area in the basement too noisy because of the train track next to the window, noisy AC, no lift, steep stairs, cleanness of toilets was not to the best.

The staff is very friendly There is no staff during the day, but there is one at night When there is no staff, you can make a video call using the tablet at the counter Early check-in is not possible, but you can leave your luggage However, I stayed for 3 days and they never cleaned the place..

Je vous conjure de bien vouloir trouver un arrangement, en raison de mes problématiques de santé !!! Il est encore temps de trouver une solution respectueuse des différentes parties prenantes, vous ne pouvez mettre des chambres infestées à disposition du public !!!

Check in was quick. We were on the first floor and it was so loud at night -- the lobby worker had friends visiting whose voices echoed in the lobby until midnight. In the morning, the beeping of the waffle maker in the breakfast area was loud, even from the tin with the door closed. There were hairs on the bathroom and bed that were clearly not ours as they were not our hair type. The bathroom was so cramped that you cannot open the door fully because it hits the toilet. There was noise very loud in our room from what I think was hotel workers moving things. However, the price was low, the location was great, and it didn't feel unsafe. You get what you pay for, and it fulfilled our basic needs for a one night stay in the city.

Well located in Upper West Side, close to Central Park and to the 87th subway station of line 1.

I booked a room at the last minute after my flight was cancelled, and was so impressed with everything about The Local. They were so helpful and accomodating, from my initial phone call, to letting me check in early when a room became available, to booking a cab to the airport early in the morning, at their discounted rate. The Local is situated near the iconic Gantry Park, and is walking distance from shops and sights. The rooms are well designed and super clean, and the lobby has everything a traveller needs, from computers, printer, charging area to a bar area, comfy couches, local art...and my favourite: a roof top lounge area with views of the NY skyline and Queensborough Bridge. I highly recommend staying here!

This Hotel was amazing, the staff was friendly and accommodating to me and my daughters for the two days we stayed in town to visit their mom and brother at oishei children’s hospital, definitely a five Star place

I have a mission to write this review! I am sending my biggest ever love to this hostel and staffs. I had my passport stolen in a cafe in Brooklyn. Yes, my passport with visa was stolen. I was groggy and in agony, but without the help of the Moore Hostel's staffs, I would not have been able to get up. They rented me $10 and a metro card that included the fare for the subway to Manhattan for I go to the Japanese counsel. I went back to the hostel to return the money and the card, which was my real pleasure. The Moore hostel is remembered with tragedy, but also with the impossibly kind staffs. The staffs enabled me to keep loving New York. New York! It's a beautiful city. It is a painful city. But I keep loving it. I will never forget the summer in 2021 and this hostel. May you be with nothing but wonderful memories, not tragedies. with the best love ever. Tep

I had an overall good experience staying at the Kama Central Park, during my weekend getaway to NYC. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful, especially since I was a ***** who accidently booked a stay at a women's only dorm on Agoda (especially since Agoda didn't really specify that the hostel had Men only dorms, female only dorms and mixed dorms, and when I booked there was only one kind of dorm available) and they were still willing to accommodate me and they did. I got in about 15 minutes before check in and they still booked me in too, which was great. I really got only a couple of negative things to say about my stay and the first was they only give you one towel for your entire stay since they're pretty short on towels, so if you plan on staying there I'd recommend you bring a couple of towels of your own. The other thing is the showers aren't all the same quality. I wouldn't recommend showering in the one person bathroom especially if you get dorm 506 like I did because the water in that shower is cold. The men's shower on that floor however is better (apart from that one always running) because the water isn't cold but not really hot either, it's just ok. I liked the little console in the bed, and that let's you turn on the airflow, change the light color, dim the lights, etc. as long as you got your card. I'll also admit, I got a little worried for leaving my luggage in the bed because the doors to the bed pod, because the bed doors don't lock, but if you keep your belongings in the bed with the doors shut and out of plain view then you shouldn't worry about anybody stealing your belongings. I had a great time in NYC, but if you stay there then you might want to remember to bring a couple of towels and shower in the shower rooms, not the bathroom in your dorm.

We love the staff here !! They enjoy their jogs and are happy to help us with all our needs. The hotel is so very comfortable. Beds , pillows are so so comfortable , rooms are super clean , spotless. Pool & hot-tub is warm & hot. They even have music playing in the pool area. Breakfast is very good and the hotel in in a perfect location every is very close. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, VERY FILTHY HOTEL, we reserved 2 rooms for 3 nights; after a very long day of delayed planes we arrived, thinking we are going to relax & sleep. But was not like that at all; room #1 (room 201)was not clean and smells nasty like smoke & dirty at the same time, i request to change room and the desk person (VERY RUDE GUY) told me, he personally inspect that room and it was fine, i insisted and I was changed to another room (room 220), when i open the bed, look obvious that those sheets were not clean, there were long black hairs int he bed, (i am blonde, so they were not mine), i requested to change the room again , and the from desk guy said there were not more rooms available, so i ask for CLEAN, set of sheets, he said will send you somebody in the morning, i had to fight to get those that night to sleep. My friend on bedroom # 2 (room 202) has smell as CLOROX (at least), but the toilet was running water the whole night, we complain again, and the guy at front desk said he will send somebody in the morning to fix it. I told him that we want to cancel that reservation and want our money back, HE SAID THESE ARE NOT REFUNDABLE. I felt ROBBED, I went to the room and started calling Wyndham but, it was already past midnight, so i had to wait until the morning to call again. In the morning when I called, Wyndham accepted to cancel our reservation, however, we were charged for that 'NIGHTMARE NIGHT” we spend there, we only were refunded for the 2 coming nigths, that we did not used. Of course we packed & left. I have pictures to show all of it, old vomit in the front door, welcome mat dirty, big stains in the lobby couchs, floor dirty spots, elevator looks as never was clean or mop or vacummed, hallway carpets smelly and full of stains ETC, ETC, ETC, there are too many things to mentionof course we did not have breakfast since the place was also dirty (unsanitary). If the health department of NY go there for an inspection, for sure that hotel should be CLOSED. The only good thing I have to mention that the lady in the front desk (in the morning) was very kind and helpful.

Far from it! I should have read the reviews? The rooms stinks, air through the window or AC machine brings just more dumpster smells (it was only inches under the air intake), towels were dirty, w old wadded towel draped around the toilet base, awful! Plus rowdy guests returning late from bars hanging out outside and the final straw: A loud argument that brought police to the scene at 3:30am arresting three guests for the altercation. This place should be closed down for all its violations. I demanded and received some refund from the exorbitant price they ask for on weekends.

Great location. We stay here often from Toronto, Ontario. Always clean and close to everything for us.

Excellent property with great location and friendly staff. Rooms are very good and complementary breakfast was nice. Location is just outside the University. Ideally located to travel from Buffalo to Niagara. Gas station and convenient stores in walking distance.
