Bare bones, no frills. Staff is friendly and internet is good enough, but if you need anything more than a bed and a (shared) bathroom, stay somewhere else. However, if you don’t care about fancy stuff, this place is perfectly fine, although the bed was uncomfortable. Rooms are small and bare, very minimally furnished, but good enough for me to spend two nights, although next time I’ll probably opt for someplace with private bathrooms. In all, I saved a lot of money by staying here, and I didn’t die.

This hostel is a great option for saving money in New York. The location is perfect, it is very close to Central Park and the metro station. I stayed in the 8-bed dorm; the bed has a privacy curtain and a reading light, which is nice. The room was clean. I really like the kitchen; it is huge and well-equipped. It is easy to cook there to save on restaurants. The patio is also nice. The only problem is the elevator; it is very slow. Sometimes I prefer to take the stairs. Overall, it is a good place for students and travelers who want a cheap stay.

Great price. Upon arrival, I was a little surprised by the entrance, which truly looked like a garage. No elevator, so be prepared for stairs. The place felt a bit neglected, but the shared dorm rooms were very good, and I slept well thanks to the spacious beds. Finding good food nearby was a bit challenging, as there was no restaurant or meals offered at the hotel itself. In conclusion, I had a very nice trip, slept well, and would definitely consider returning. I was also very happy with the wonderful people I met during my stay here.

It is less than a 10-minute walk from the subway station. There are about 5 people in each room, and toilets and showers are shared within the room. Water can be bottled in the kitchen room.

Kama Central Park is an ideal place for budget travellers going to New York. It's a 3 minute walk from the nearest subway station with connections to Downtown. The beds are comfortable. The staff were also friendly upon check-in. The facilities could be improved a little - the showers are small and there is no space to put dry clothing or change in privacy, the beds don't have power sockets - only USB. The air conditioning in the individual beds is appreciated however is also loud but not very effective. However I did enjoy my stay at Kama Central Park and I'd recommend it to those on a budget.

Biggest Advantage: A decent value for New York City. Location: Convenient access to Manhattan and close to the subway. Located in Long Island City (LIC), a supposedly safe neighborhood with a large Chinese population, I was late getting off the subway and, perhaps because it was raining, the station was packed with homeless people looking to spend the night, which was quite scary. Also, because it's right next to the metro, which runs all night, there's a constant rumble of trains. I'm a fairly quiet sleeper, so it was fine, but light sleepers might find it difficult. Amenities: Perhaps because I had just stayed at another hostel, which was more in line with my preferences, I felt this one was a little lacking. 1. No curtains, leaving everyone's movements completely visible, and no individual bedside lights for each bed. 2. The metal bed frame means the bunk bed is affected by both sides; if one person rolls over, the other person can clearly feel it. 3. The closet is too small; I couldn't even fit my 20-inch suitcase. There's no light inside the closet, so you need a flashlight. 4️⃣ Private bathroom. I actually prefer a hostel design more like a university dormitory, with a large bathroom on each floor for greater efficiency. If there's only one toilet and shower in a shared room, it's easy to queue. Common spaces are also quite limited, lacking a sense of community. It seems everyone is just doing their own thing, and the atmosphere is quite friendly. The picture shows the Halloween decorations. They've put a lot of thought into creating this atmosphere; the owner clearly puts a lot of effort into the operation.

As a youth hostel, it's great. The location is excellent for shopping and catching the train. It was snowing heavily, making for a fantastic experience. Convenience of check-in: High; Safety: The surrounding area felt okay; I felt safe going out at night.

After living in New York for three days, the room is really small. The 28-inch suitcase can't be opened flat, because it is a vegetarian hotel. You can't eat it. The front desk prepares fruit bread and milk. The public bath is very good and the travel is convenient. Suitable for one person to travel

I thought it was a really relaxing place. Since June 5th, I have stayed several times in a row. I stayed for almost a month, but it is very convenient because there are restaurants, a market, and a convenience store nearby. Good location. After all, it's safe and secure, and it feels like a little sure house with a round on each floor. I want to use it again. The staff were all very kind. The front door is also safe with a security door. I was relieved with a security door that could not be easily invaded from the outside.

GGuest UserThis is a no friils, basic motel. If you're trying to save money on your lodging while traveling to New York City & surrounding areas, this is a great place to stay to save money. The motel is close to various local amenities as well as the Metro North train station. Taking the train will bring you to Grand Central Station in heart of NYC - Manhattan, in 30 minutes. I found the room, bed, linens and the bathroom to all be clean. The room had a mini fridge, microwave, mini drip style coffee maker, TV and a small desk. The bathroom had clean towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Though it was a bit cramped. The stand-up shower was great with good water pressure and plentiful hot water. There is parking in front of each room and it was fairly quiet. Again, this is a budget motel. So if you're not looking for anything fancy, I would recommend this place. Can't beat the price for being so close to NYC.

GGuest UserThe location is very good. The metro is a 3-minute walk away, which takes you downtown in 10 minutes. The staff was friendly and helped me whenever I needed help. The place seems to host homeless or needy people. The hostel is very old and run down. There are no room keys. You have to ask at the reception. The mattresses and sheets are very dirty. There are no blankets. The plugs are half broken. The bathrooms and sinks are broken. It should be noted that there was soap, but it smelled very bad. There were cockroaches. I understand that for this price it is a lot to ask. But at least the conditions are humane. Conditions in prison are better.

Amazing
RRolandJosh was a very friendly host. Checkin/Checkout was a breeze. As was the swimming pool. Large (for a motel), perfect for a proper swim and relaxation after a long drive. The room was decent. Yes, it's old school, and the bed is on the very soft side (if you prefer more firm beds, you might not like it), but it was clean, and all worked as it should. The shower head is fantastic. If you like a perfect water pressure, you'll love to refresh here. There is a petrol station nearby, as well as a local diner. For more than that, you'll have to drive to one of the nearby villages (5-10min drive) tl;dr: All great, would stay again. Bed mattress is very soft.

GGuest UserThis hotel appears to have recently refurbished its rooms. Everything in the room and bathroom was new looking and clean. We had a king bed, which was nice but did not give much room on the sides, but it was adequate. The breakfast was very simple: 2 dry cereal choices, some package oatmeal, breads and small muffins, 2 juices, milk. Unfortunately the 'dining area' is in the reception area and only has 3 tables, despite many more rooms. It would have been nice to have a picnic bench or two outside for people to sit and chat or have breakfast. But the price was right and the rooms good. Surrounding hotels were trying to charge $300 and above.

BBENGWe check-in very late around 4:00am due to our late flight and 1 missing piece of luggage. Got our room promptly, but the bath tub was choke and dirty. Tried to change our room, but was told that there was no other available room, but they sent someone to fix it in the morning. The hotel is pretty basic, more for people with own transport. Location wise, there is not much around the area, but we found Denny's within walking distance. There are a couple of other eating places as well, though we didn't try them.
