Not great value for money, and the overall experience was pretty mediocre. The fact that the island was reclaimed from the sea, and the various buildings on it, are quite astonishing, but it's a real shame how many areas are neglected and falling into disuse. With over 5,000 rooms, the hotel had a high occupancy rate during the holiday, making the lobby feel like a chaotic market, packed with people and incredibly noisy. There were significant delays for check-in, and breakfast was practically a free-for-all, with extremely poor food quality. Room cleanliness was terrible; there were scratches all over the walls, and the bed runner was damaged and still had dried food crumbs from the previous guest on it – makes you wonder how long it hadn't been washed. The room itself was tiny, and when I asked for an extra pillow, I was told they didn't have any. We were a family of one adult and two children, both around six years old, but were told we had to purchase an additional child's breakfast, as two small children couldn't count as one adult. For nearly 600 RMB a night, with nothing included, it really wasn't worth it.

This is a really comfortable hotel. Every time I visit Haikou, I make sure to stay here for a night. The main reason is their amazing 830-meter deep hot spring directly in the rooms – a soak there just melts away all the fatigue. The rooms are spacious and bright. Plus, the hotel is very close to the Qilou Old Street, just a short taxi ride (minimum fare). There's even an airport shuttle nearby. It's truly great.

This hotel is very close to Qixianling National Forest Park, making it perfect for a hot spring getaway after a hike. The hotel environment is fantastic, with lots of tropical plants, truly a natural oxygen bar. The infinity pool offers incredible views that are truly refreshing. There are two outdoor hot spring areas with many pools, but during the off-season, only one or two are open. The staff mentioned they could open more if requested, but I found the private hot tub in the room to be perfectly fine. The water temperature was just right and very comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful, but try to go early; it gets quite crowded after 8:30 AM. The air humidity is high, so remember to turn on the humidifier once you get into your room.

Our stay was incredibly pleasant from start to finish. The butler, Zirong, provided exceptional and attentive service. They proactively introduced us to the hotel facilities, highlighted key attractions nearby, and informed us about various complimentary benefits. Before heading out, they thoughtfully advised us on peak times for morning/evening excursions and buffet dining, which helped us plan our schedule efficiently and avoid queues. Throughout our stay, they were consistently kind and responded promptly to all our requests.

I originally chose this hotel because it was 'about to become a Fairmont,' and even though the sign outside no longer says that, my overall experience far exceeded my expectations. The hardware was particularly surprising: the hotel extensively uses carpeting, both in the rooms and public areas. Knowing that maintaining carpets in a high-humidity, high-salinity coastal area is extremely difficult (most seaside hotels opt for wood or tile floors – I still remember the indescribable smell at The Royal Begonia, a Luxury Collection Resort, Sanya), the carpet condition in my room this stay was excellent. It's clear they put a lot of effort into maintenance, especially for a hotel that's already nearly 20 years old (or even older?). Check-in was seamless (I didn't catch the name of the kind lady who helped me). There was also a follow-up call to the room after I settled in, which very few hotels do. While the hotel's pool isn't huge, it's very well-designed, encircling the garden with both deep and shallow areas. Seating is well-spaced out (unlike the packed rows at Sheraton, for instance), offering a genuine resort feel where guests can relax without disturbing each other. Swimming and sunbathing there were very pleasant. From the pool, you can walk out to the seaside boardwalk, which leads all the way down to Wuyuanhe National Wetland Park. It's perfect for an evening stroll or a morning workout. Coming back from a run along the beach in the morning and then soaking in the hot spring really brings on that holiday vibe. Even though it hasn't become a Fairmont yet, the hospitality lives up to the 'Royal Service' mentioned on the phone. Thank you for the hospitality, and special thanks to Megan for her thoughtful touch. For someone who loves carpets and a resort atmosphere, this is a place in Haikou worth relaxing at, and I'd definitely want to come back again.

The hotel has a great environment, it's close to Yalong Bay, and features small animals, hot springs, and a kids' play area. It's quiet and comfortable, the rooms are very spacious and clean, and the service is excellent. It's perfect for families with children.

My stay was very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, and all the facilities were complete and worked well. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes and was well-balanced, a true delight for the taste buds. Our housekeeper, Julia, was friendly and responded to our requests quickly and efficiently. Consumables and any other items we needed in the room were replenished as requested. Her service was truly professional.

My stay at the Haikou Marriott Hotel was a comfortable experience overall, with quality evident in every detail. The hotel is located on the West Coast, close to a shopping mall and transport hub, making it very convenient for both shopping and sightseeing. The lobby has a simple yet grand Chinese-style decor, with a subtle fragrance that soothes the mind. Serena, the concierge, was attentive to all my requests during my stay. The room was spacious and bright, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and there was a selection of pillows, ensuring a great night's sleep. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices, combining Western and Chinese hot dishes. This hotel is suitable for both business trips and leisure travel, offering good value for money. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

This was by far the best stay I’ve ever had in Haikou.
First, the staff were absolutely amazing. I messaged the day before to ask if there was a cake shop nearby, since it was my wife’s birthday. When we arrived at the hotel, they not only provided a cake for us free of charge, but also upgraded our room to a top-floor sea view room—completely complimentary.
The room itself was spotless and beautiful. The swimming pool was a short walk from the hotel, but very nice, and the hot springs and fish spa were truly relaxing.
We also tried the buffet for just 198 RMB per person, and it was well worth it. The food was excellent—the sashimi was fresh, beer and wine were included, and the variety was broad. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Overall, this was an amazing experience, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Haikou.

Very satisfied with the convenient location for sightseeing. The room was comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The facilities were excellent, and the toiletries were easily accessible. The front desk staff provided friendly service with a smile throughout our stay, which was a huge plus.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this resort for 4 nights at the beginning of May while my kids (ages 9 and 11) were on school break. They loved it. They really enjoyed the pool, the springs and the breakfast and dinner buffets. The sushi restaurant is also good. The kids liked the slides and obstacle course in the pool area. There are so many springs here, with varying temperatures so you can choose to soak in cold ones or hot ones. And they are broken into regions (Asia, Europe, America, Africa). The service we received was great. Everyone was very helpful. Jordon in particular was very clear in communicating with me about what was included with our booking and how to access those items. There were a lot of other families at the resort since it was a holiday time but it was not too crowded. Would definitely recommend it to others. Close by is Mission Hills Centreville (retail shopping area), Feng Xiaogang Movie Town (featuring recreated old Chinese movie sets) and Splash City (a large water park). The picture is the view from our room.

KKongzhonghefangeThis stay exceeded my expectations! The villa offered great privacy with its own clean, private pool. The room was spacious, stylishly decorated, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable. The service was also very attentive; our butler was responsive, and housekeeping kept everything spotless, even tidying up promptly after we went out. The breakfast was rich and varied, catering to all tastes. The surroundings of the villa were tranquil, perfect for a relaxing getaway. I'll definitely bring my family here again!

AAnnieWe went in mid June, rainy season so it was low season. For the price that we paid for the 2 bedroom villa, which included breakfast (at another hotel) entry to ocean park, The Five Country Hot Spring City, and personal shuttle bus service within the island. I think it was well worth it. Service was prompt and courteous, although communication was all through WeChat and in Chinese. Convenient but knowing sone Chinese would be better to utilize services . We stayed in the Japanese style villa, and it was tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved having our own dry and steam sauna, and our own personal outdoor hot spring bath! Real hot spring mineral water! I recommend this place especially for people who love hot spring baths and want to avoid busy touristy hotels.
Cleanliness: overall quite clean.
Location: walking distance to ocean park and hot spring city, so quite convenient. 5-10 minutes shuttle ride to most places within the island.
Service: knowing someone is available 24 hours was nice. They were eager to help with whatever we needed. The main concierge during the day was more friendly, competent and experienced.
Amenities: everything we needed was provided. There was a Dyson hair dryer, fridge etc. If you are picky about your shampoo soaps etc, you may want to bring your own. But they do provide them.

HHdrinkscoffeeThe cleanliness overall is good, but you can see signs of wear and tear. The cushion was a little bit stained, and the cupboard door has some aging/affected by moisture. It is still acceptable for now.
The overall amenities are great, pool, outdoor hot springs and food available.
If you don’t have a car, it is not easy to get out to eat but there are 2-3 restaurants in the resort itself.
The beds are comfortable.
My only complain is that the aircon was quite weak and could have been better. It was not warm but not cold in the room, and we had ensured the balcony door was closed.
GGuest UserAI recently stayed at Nanshan Temple Muyin, Qinghuandu Rainforest View Hotel, and overall, it was a very peaceful and enjoyable experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with all amenities in excellent condition, which made my stay truly relaxing.
The service was excellent. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. A great example of this was when I tried to work out at the gym, which is located outdoors and had flooring that wasn’t ideal. The staff noticed me exercising and promptly offered an exercise mat so that my clothes would not get dirty. This thoughtful gesture left a positive impression.
The hotel facilities were generally good, and the serene environment around the property added to the experience. The food was okay—not bad, but nothing particularly outstanding. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall comfort of my stay.
In summary, Nanshan Temple Muyin, Qinghuandu Rainforest View Hotel is a great choice for those looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service and comfortable rooms, even if the dining experience could be improved slightly.
